It’s crazy to think that Les had to carry so much gear whilst filming the early series of Survivorman! Imagine what it would have been like if he had a few GoPros, SD cards, small batteries and a solar recharger way back then. Loving all these episodes! Such a rich, educational and entertaining resource!
You can't underestimate the significance of this original series. It inspired people to get outside and learn wilderness skills. It also inspired people to be prepared for anything. No one's come close to making films this interesting and authentic. It's not a reality show, it's a real show. So much better than what's on TV these days.

After rewatching the first season. I can honestly say, Les really was pushing himself to survive. That's because some of these scenarios/conditions he puts himself in are very harsh. Even for someone with this much experience and knowledge. Thank you, Les for bringing me back to my middle school days you're the best!

I draw the line at crevasses …8:54. Probably the scariest and most dangerous terrain I've seen Les traverse. You could not pay me enough to fall into one and slowly die of injuries and dehydration/exposure. What a horrible way to die. Thanks Les!
This episode had very weird editing style to it. Brings back memories of watching these on cable in the states. Very enjoyable. Thanks for releasing them on TH-cam Les.

Just think of how your survival shoots would’ve been if you had all the technology now days?? Go Pro’s, SD Cards etc. would’ve been a lot less camera weight for sure. I’ve seen about every episode you’ve done. Love them and they never get old!
As a kid I use to think I could easily survive the places in these episodes. Nowadays I've realize that I would never get stuck in a survival scenario, because I'll most likely die from the disaster that would lead to it.
Damn, I became so much a fan of you Les, just after one episode, I got totally addicted. And for someone who knows the forest pretty well, I got a bunch of knowledge from 7 of your episodes and I can't wait to go out and practice some of your tips. @@darcywade2711 it’s kind of comparing apples to oranges, Ed Strafford is a different style to Les but both are excellent in their own way. It’s also a personality difference which depends on whom you jive with the best. Personally I like them both and I think they’re great. I typically go towards Les because his style suits me better and who got me into survival. Now Ed maybe your cup of tea, totally great for you. Your life is really something that should be made into a movie, I watched you growing up and learned so much. Not just your survival lessons but life lessons as well. Saying how your camp spots are right next to the rode and all.. but this episode is def legit i mean you were dropped right on the peak of a 12000 ft mountain. I truly appreciate your dedication to your footage and survival skills.. remarkable!
He's legit in his survival. Whoever was bored enough to try to "expose" one of the very few decent people in the world who want to share valuable knowledge to a stupid, superficial world, clearly needs help. My brother in law worked for Les for 4 years. 100% legit. His crew stays within a far enough distance that he's completely alone but close enough that if there's a flare, they come. He would only use that if he broke a limb or contracted a severe illness that won't just pass in a few hours. Otherwise, he's surviving. He won't allow himself to die for the show, but he sure lets himself get close at times with the risks he takes.
Y’all need a hero. Where is Clark Kent? I give the man his dues but I’ve watched for few years only on TH-cam and he’s good but he’s not that great. He’s cocky af that’s not a “great human”
Your content is just amazing because with all your shots, you are doing the work, setting up a camera, then doing the work all over again. I don't know if a lot of viewers realize the work you put into making this show, not simply surviving but the extra calories you burn filming it for us.
Growing up watching these no only made me love nature's beauty and get interested in survival and hiking but- Also respect nature for what it can do and I can't

My man les!!! I use to binge everything on Netflix all the time. I've easily watched the first few seasons 9 times. So good
Just think of how your survival shoots would’ve been if you had all the technology now days?? Go Pro’s, SD Cards etc. would’ve been a lot less camera weight for sure. I’ve seen about every episode you’ve done. Love them and they never get old!
@kflo1219 I just posted the same thing. Imagine him live streaming it.
As a kid I use to think I could easily survive the places in these episodes. Nowadays I've realize that I would never get stuck in a survival scenario, because I'll most likely die from the disaster that would lead to it.
I'll never forget watching Survivorman years ago and I'm glad I can watch them over again on yt. Thanks Les.
Thank you Les for sharing this with us on TH-cam.
I haven't seen these episodes in like 15 yrs or more . I was a kid watching this on OLN .
Sweeeet it's gonna be a survivorman evening again ! Thanks Les
I'm watching and thumbs up every single episode, he started, and kicked off every single survivor show today, PURE LEGEND
30:40 has got some magic to it. This was one of the best in Season 1.
Im obsessed with the canyons one where he drinks the mormon tea and tries to talk to a crow
@@matthewhall9379 That is a good one as well. I do the crow kaw when I'm out tromping around the Land Between the Lakes in Western Kentucky.
This and alone are the most legit survival shows hands down
Damn, I became so much a fan of you Les, just after one episode, I got totally addicted. And for someone who knows the forest pretty well, I got a bunch of knowledge from 7 of your episodes and I can't wait to go out and practice some of your tips. I really like the variety of fire starting methods you used and shown us in detail. Your content is fascinating.
Him picking the blueberries reminds of the the Greg ovens Rocky Mountain channel. He made a blueberry crumble from wild blueberries. Love it!
Les is one of the toughest if not the toughest survivor man ever.
Les i great. But Ed stafford is just better. Just raw hardcore survival
Honestly it’s not a comparison as they’re both amazing at what they do.
@@aylazelanagrebiel3210 i mean it can be a conparison. One goes out with the intention to survive for 7 days, the other 10. They make very similar style content. I just think ed is better because he doesnt bring anything but a camera. Literally goes naked with just a camera not even a knife and does 60 days on a deserted island
Nobody gonna mention those sweet harmonica skills? Forgot Les is a master at much more than just survival and cinematography!
So glad to be able to re-watch your videos, you're a blessing to humanity.
He sure can’t ride a horse worth a flip but he tries hard. His ego is set though so settle down he doesn’t need a bigger one.
About 15 minutes in he’s clearly talking about Aron ralston and the next episode takes place in the canyon lands. I find it hilarious that Les probably said to himself “that’s where I should do the next episode”
Next Panzy Man getting thirsty episode? Should be another nail biter.
Bo McGillacutty what?
@@Mrbfgray who hurt you bro do you need a hug
@@gooberhead9025 I guess you city kids wouldn't know the diff but the contrived drama and ridiculous fussing over the ordinary is at best funny.
@@TheDsRequiem When "Survivor Man" intersects MY old stomping grounds and pretends mountain lions are a threat and even *bobcats* ! Where the only thing that preys on humans are mosquitoes. Hahaha
May as well pretend trout are piranhas.
I cannot believe how painstaking it must’ve been to capture those shots coming down and through fearsome terrain! Thank you for a great vid and more lessons on survival.
Cant believe its been 4 years since this was posted on youtube, who is still wearing these out in 2024? 😅
I can watch any episode over and over. Same with Bigfoot. Stoked for the new Bigfoot content too!
literally between a rock and a hard place... thanks for going through all this so others can learn from your experiences
*tells the story of 127 hours before anyone else does*
He mentioned it so someone must have told the story before.
Your life is really something that should be made into a movie, I watched you growing up and learned so much. Not just your survival lessons but life lessons as well. Keep moving, don’t get caught in a situation you foresaw coming and that you can do just about anything on your own. Your son is very lucky to have you!
I saw a story that someone tried to expose you on the Utah episode i believe.
Les pretty much reinvigorated my inner woodsman when I first seen Survivor Man. Thank you Les it has been awesome
I remember watching these growing up. Still enjoyable watching to this day
Learned this was on TH-cam and have been thoroughly enjoying rewatching this show. Haven't watched it since high school. And that was 15 years ago.
