Your filming skills are on another level. The amount of walk backs to grab the camera or get a shot going through the rapids is so fluent that I have to remind myself you're just one dude putting this all together.

I was going to say the same thing. I love his close-ups of plants, flowers, & critters. And all the setting up and then backtracking to retrieve the gear. You have no idea how it makes me feel to see you a young man still young enough to do these things you're doing and me as an older man cannot do those things anymore I did those things when I was very young now that I'm past my seventies it's hard for me to climb and drag my equipment with me and my canoe my aluminum canoe. I enjoyed every minute of it to see the scenery the landscape with the naked eye was the best experience a man can have not through a camera now for me it's great through your camera you've brought many great memories and peace and trick quality back into my life watching your videos you're doing an awesome job it's great therapy for both of us and I'm sure many others that are watching your videos. Be safe my friend don't take any unnecessary risks take your time soak it in enjoy I sure am enjoying.
This video is just... perfection. It has brought up a beautiful memory of mine. As a 15 yold Spaniard my parents gave me the opportunity to go on a Summer Camp to Georgian Bay, particularly the region you did this trip in. Part of it was a two weeks canoeing trip surviving in the stunning Ontario wilderness, just as you did, using even the same blue canoe barrels 😄.
I have done camping back home here in the north of Spain since, but nothing is quite like Canada. The tough and exciting portages, the rocky side of the lakes, the wildlife and forests, the bonfires (prohibited here) and using a canoe as your way of transport, I cannot describe how unique that is, how lucky you Canadians are for the land you inhabit. Being able to relive this experience from 7 years ago through your video... I will forever appreciate it, liked and saved forever. Thank you very much!

@@amanrajpoot.ar04 That's precisely what he is doing. It's difficult but not impossible. He is very committed. He walks or paddles back to retrieve the camera depending in the situation.

No he just leaves the camera there and uploads the footage via the cloud. If go into forests of Canada you will find $1000 dollar cameras everywhere.

Don't worry about it
If you notice most of those shots are rapids. Even on a familiar river it is wise to scout rapids for condition. So he leaves his boat on the bank scouts the rapid plants the camera goes back up then down the rapids and picks up the camera. It seems like actually quite not as much work as a back and forth walking shot. I still do appreciate his camera work it is well done and very professional.

Xander Bud, my absolute favourite vid of yours so far! Perfect balance of landscape, scenery, paddling, drone footage and dialogue! You know the best part of the video is I could really sense the joy you were having during this trip. The serenity is amazing and you captured it beautifully. The beauty of your photography is one thing but, do people know how much effort some of those shots took? I know you had to get past those rapids (probably by shooting them), set up the camera, go back and shoot the rapids, THEN go back and get your camera! That’s some real dedication to filming, my friend. Great job all around.

Wow, the pace and beauty of this trip, especially the integrated drone-work, was off the charts. Jacques Cousteau and his ship-full of technicians were no match for the cinematic grandeur you bring to life here. Tadpoles to vast terrains: a tour de force.
Such a great video and adventure. I really appreciated that brief segment at 34:30 where you showed how you attached and anchored all your gear into your canoe before launching. May seem like a little detail to some, but I love seeing how you put everything together. The prep and setup logic is all incredibly interesting to me, so thanks for showing that moment in your video along with all the other great adventure content as always.

I love how each of your video's are focused on different things. Some videos you do more talking, and some are with friends, some are about meals, and some are about equipment. Another fantastic breathtaking documentary Xander. Find watching your content so peaceful and relaxing before I sleep at night. One thing which I’d love to see implemented maybe at the end or beginning of your trips is a visual edit displaying your route on a map so we can truly see the distance you cover and the loop you make.

It reminds me of a solo canoeing trip through the Verendrye Reserve wilderness region in Canada 35-years ago, searching for giant carp🎣 and camping 🏕️ on the wild islands.
I'm surprised that you didn't eat some of the bass or trout that you caught during the trip. It would have saved you carrying so much shop-bought food.

Yessss... my neck of the woods. I swear this area (Temagami, Ontario) is one of the planet's hidden treasures when it comes to wilderness at its finest. The gf and I went camping on Red Squirrel lake a few weeks ago and it was simply amazing. With gas prices so high lately we were literally the only humans out there, except for the 2 friendly conservation officers who popped by our makeshift campsite to say hello on our last evening there. I live in Temiskaming Shores but I frequent the backwoods/old growth forests of Temagami most summer long. I'm an avid hiker and forager of wild herbs, berries & medicinal mushrooms.
