sakuma looks older than peco and tskimoto from overworking himself in order to compensate for his lack of "natural talent". my heart kinda breaks seeing him have to do laborious work knowing that he doesn't have much else going on for him in his life at that stage. i mean imagine pressuring yourself to solely improve one skill which takes up all your spare time except when you have to work a dead-end, unsafe job. i never believed in talent, but some people just adapt so much more easier than others can. sure everyone can attain a certain level of skill with time and effort, but i guess there are people with just natural inclinations towards certain endeavours. sakuma just gave up because no matter how hard he tried he couldn't outstand peco who was mainly coasting for most of his time playing ping-pong until peco himself put in a third of the hard-work sakuma put in. as said by charles m schultz, creator of the peanuts comics, our talents are limited. i have no doubt in my mind you can get better at whatever skill you want but what's the use if you're not having fun while you're at it? it's often activities we love doing that we end up excelling at. too bad we think pursuing certain paths will validate our existence in someway... this anime just really gets me thinking...

Uma cena essencial para o desenvolvimento das personagens, principalmente do Wenge, indo de um arrogante a um cara muito gente boa (meu personagem favorito). Vemos também todo o resto do elenco sozinho de alguma forma, aparentemente infeliz com sua noite de natal. De certa forma, fico triste ao ver essa cena, ela me faz refletir muito sobre a vida, assim como Ping Pong the Animation num geral, esse anime é uma verdadeira masterpiece. Genial
