Peco is a true hero, cause he saved Smile from being a hikikomori with his friendship and for sharing his love for ping pong with him, most important, for treating Smile normally and helping him with the bullies.
+Neko Haxor The thing is, when translating languages, there's going to be a lot of creative liberty. Things will flow better in one translation than another, and one translation may take on a different meaning while intending to say something else because of something pesky like one word meaning a different thing. Ever heard the phrase, "Even if I tell you, you won't understand?" That can certainly apply to translations. Unless you explain it and end up making it 3-5 times the length of the original phrase (which isn't doable in this context), you're going to be left with approximations, with the rest _lost in translation_. In this particular instance, the phrase is "ヒーロー見参" (probably, I don't actually know many Kanji, much less grammar points), which literally means "hero meeting" or "hero seeing". In this particular instance, the former phrase is more accurate. So let's extract the meaning, shall we? In the context of the show, "hero meeting" is a chant, spoken three times. Let's try and turn that literal meaning into something that flows better in English (taking extra steps here since I don't know much Japanese, but it'll give you a good idea of the steps): "The hero is here." "There hero came." "The hero enters." "The hero appears." In the context of the show, we're aware that Smile is saying that in a dramatic way, so let's eliminate the phrases in English that sound more passive: -"The hero is here."- -"The hero came."- "The hero enters." "The hero appears." Okay, we've got two phrases left, but even though they're more dramatic, it doesn't _sound_ very dramatic in English. Let's take some creative liberties: "Enter the hero." "The hero appears." Hmm...I think the latter option flows better, so let's go with that: -"Enter the hero."- *"The hero appears"* Translation, huh? What a tedious process! We have to try and keep the original meaning, but it's very difficult. That's why lots of stuff gets lost in translation. Translation can also be likened to articulating abstract thoughts into words, _succinctly_. It's about articulating Japanese ideas/phrases into an English sentence. It's not always the easiest thing to do, especially for those of us who suck at explaining things even in English (guilty as charged). Even worse, you have to do it *succinctly*. You'll either have to have experience similar to a writer or be searching for lots and lots of synonyms to make your sentences shorter and more succinct--a bit of both, really. Translation can only be described as a tedious process. If you ever try translating something yourself, I'm sure you'll gain some newfound respect for them.
