Great video, and you are correct, Fortuna came about as our statement that The Wayward Realms does not have dice rolls, does not have chosen one narratives, and the players are not destined for greatness. You will have to earn that through your deeds and decisions.
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut on occasion. Today I'm proud to be a blind squirrel! In all seriousness though, doing that was brilliant. One might even say its poetic? I can hardly wait to see what kinds of stories and lore await us once we are able to enter the World for ourselves
This is so refreshing to hear! Cant stand anymore these "you are the chosen one/last cookie that's the last hope to save the world" storylines. Loved how in daggerfall you were just an agent from the emperor and then things would play out depending on your choices, you had real stakes without having to be the farmboy turned god-hero overnight.
Wayward Realms looks very interesting. I hope they pull off the kickstarter and find a publisher in a year's time. A game this big AND deep is everything I'm looking for, I will remain cautiously optimistic.
Yeah, the more I learn of it the more interested I become. The kickstarter has reached it's initial funding Goal so we should get to play early access Next year... a publisher may take longer but hopefully, once publishers see what has been created and how much interest there is for the game, OLG will be able to get a good publisher on board
Nice... working on one for the Factions now. It is going to be the Longest one yet... I did not Realize there were 52 factions already. Many of them we don't actually know anything about but still... TWR final release might break 100 factions. We'll have to see
In Baldurs Gate 3 most of the deities were also female, which is interesting for a change. Instead of other games doing the same boring thing over and over again.
Did you just wake up from a coma- fantasy has been stronk girl power for 15 years. Standard European fantasy (white guy heroes) has been completely deconstructed and all fantasy is now stronk women, blacks and gays. Seriously, what year do you come from? 1973?
Given the setting and the lore of the world it just makes sense for the deities to be worshipped as females in the archipelago... it'll be interesting to see how the rest of the world perceives the deities if we ever get a sequel.
@@anon_laughing_man The only Goddesses we hear about is Selune, Vlakiith and Shar + some elven and halfling female gods. And they are all women deities. So unless you look over every nook and cranny, you are not going to experience any male gods/deities.
@@thomasrosendahl2783 The main villains of the game very explicitly serve Bane, Bhaal and Myrkrul, you are literally accompanied by an avatar of Jergal, and there is also that big ol Lathander temple the Githyanki creche is located in and the followers of Gond you need to free from Bane's servants. Plus, off the top of my head, Silvanus, Tyr, Helm, Kelemvor and Maglubiyet 'in the nooks and crannies'.

I am sick of chosen one type of games
This is why I'm backing the game. Chosen narratives are boring to me.
@@vonbalt4891 And being OP from the start (Kinda like with Skyrim)

If anyone missed the kickstarter, late pledges are available!
THat's Right! You can even still gain access to the EA build if you support now!
Great job, very well done !!!
Thanks! We're onto factions next
Another great lore vid...really enjoying these...especially your insight about fortuna...very astute observations there

Interesting take on a pantheon for a RPG world that the deities are not really male or female but just how they are precieved. 🤔🤔🤔
I like it. If there is ever a sequel it will be really interesting to see how they are percieved and worshipped in other parts of the world.

LOLWUT? That is lame af. The pantheon of the Forgotten Realms is not majority female. It is about 50/50 male/female.

24 minutes, new PR!
yeah, you are on point for sure. Appreciate that! Problem is... now you gotta get 23 minutes on the next one lol
