Honestly Anthem was a dreamer’s game; too good to be true around E3. Then the beta came out for the game, little did we all know we were pretty much playing the full game already. Should’ve known that EA/BioWare would drive this idea down the drain like countless other games developed by EA.
I know a lot of people hated Anthem because of what it promised but man I'm gonna miss it, I've never seen a game with better customization and I really did love the gameplay
Bioware played us like a damn fiddle with Anthem cancellation but you know what, i wont stop playing it because this game is something else in my opinion, the flying mechanic at least is satisfying.
They might still come back to it once they finish dragon age 4 they haven’t officially said their done just that their not working on it right now Please don’t crush my hopes
I just started playing too. I think this is a pretty fun game. There’s obviously things that needed to be improved on. But I had a blast with gameplay so far. Being Iron Man with Guns is fun.
From what it sounded like i think they hadn’t even started production on it and had just been coming up with the ideas for it. So it probably would take another year or 2 to launch it which doesn’t seem worth it considering there’s a chance it doesn’t click.
I myself think EA should give this game another chance by at least having a team fix up the game by updating old code or by just fixing the bugs, this alone would make people a bit more interesting in the game, then after the community voiced their opinion on what they thought about the changes and updates they could decide on whether or not to keep improving the game and adding in more content to try and attract a larger crowd into the game, possibly turning this game from a cautionary tale to a inspiring story of a game rising from the ashes.
EA BioWare 8 year's and they did not deliver so why would they give him another chance after how many millions of dollars that got wasted making this game? Besides it wouldn't have been worth it because they did not make the money back on this game plus the millions of dollars it would have taken to actually fix this game wouldn't have been worth it
from a non player perspective what tipped me off is : 1. the lack of updates for anthem reboot when they promised more (yes they can do a radio silence and still fix the game, after all NMS did this for their first big update) 2. most damningly Christian Dailey saying nothing about Anthem when he said that he was going to do Dragon Age 4 when Mark Darrah and Casey Hudson retired at least until Anthem Next got canned announcement. This means 2 things : A) Christian Dailey jumped ship to DA4, essentially abandoning Anthem with no director and this is the narrative that many of us bought including the media. If this happened then should EA care about Anthem there should be an announcement that someone will replace Chris Dailey as director. B) Chris Dailey handling 2 big projects at the same time. He said it himself that he can juggle big projects but that does not permit him to ghost the Anthem community
"EA knows this" hate to break to you but Star Wars BF2 was in a way better state and had more players in it than any other EA game and EA shut it down. EVERYONE THOUGHT THIS WAS A TERRIBLE IDEA.
the only thing they needed to do was expand the map out and add another story board of what happens next. Like I liked the game when it came out and enjoyed playing through it and beating the story and then playing the harder things and finding new friends to do them with who knew more then me and showed me ways of figuring things out it was totally fun. I would have enjoyed another story that long added to it and then they could have just like added a cooler suit system maybe larger suites that would have had more personal connections customize wise to go along with a story thats what was cool about the game getting a new suite making it your own and then flying it around having fun imagine the map triple in size three new suite types you would need to explore those sides of the map and a branching story along with it. you can still use your basic suites near the city but once you get so far away it would be considered extra challenging to use the old suites but maybe doable if you had things unlocked forthem by using the new suites first idk i can think of this stuff why couldnt they>?
I just found out about this, I was so excited for NEXT. I actually only found out when I was seeing if there was any update to the game, sad to see it go.
I mentioned this on Ginger Primes video on the matter. I really feel like if the community banded together we could possibly see a come back. It may not be from BioWare and EA but with some other company bold enough to purchase the IP and take on the challenge of doing what EA could not. If anyone knows how we could get the word out about how missed Anthem is amongst the gaming community and what we can do to help the process along don’t be shy. Because believe it or not a good amount of people still want an Anthem game. Maybe we could start with a petition of some sort. What do you guys think?
I just got the game for the first time on PSN for $10 on sale. Really enjoying it so far, I know it should be better than what it is but there's definitely still potential here. Hopefully enough people pick it up again to where EA considers starting up Anthem 2.0 again
This concept was a dream almost come true. The flight mechanics and verticality,, etc.. this game still had potential to be #1 if given the time, and they gave up. I hope they sell to a studio who's capable and passionate.
one big point is: the world, the planet, the animals and feeling, the structures of old buildings give a way better feeling than to play this the whole time... there were sooo little amount of cool things to do... basically u was flying around 5-10 mins to kill some waves and thats it... it must have been more like diablo 2 for example in that sense to get big attention
I remember the first time seeing Anthem. For the first few minutes, I felt joy. Until I saw EA is behind it. Is there like a petition we can sign to remove EA from the gaming community. They give up on games we want to play and focus on anything that can score them a few bucks.
What a shame this didn't work out. If only the project were managed better and they took their time to release a polished product instead of being greedy and impatient.
deserved nothing less the biggest gaming scam in history when released at best it was an alpha no more , the trailer was a disgrace and false advertisement they should of been sued , the actual gameplay was dreadfully boring and repetitive the game had no loot and what loot hey very uninteresting all round , bullet sponge bosses how original no end game no player base they left in droves , so yes best they shut that disgrace of a game down a complete joke from start to finish., oh and I forgot no raid no pvp and also bricking people's consoles , so basically consoles were committing suicide rather than play it the game was a meme and a complete laughing stock .

I decided to follow your channel for your shameless mention of church, your pastor, and the cool parallel you drew with Judas and Peter. Bless you brother.
If they just stuck with the road map and continued to add content vs not adding any content to overhaul then people would have a reason to come back and play the game. Then this game might have had a comeback like No Mans Sky and Battlefront 2

Honestly after killing anthem I decided I’m not gonna trust EA at all. They made promises with a game and then ditched when it became inconvenient. Anthem could’ve been so good for Ea
I’m with you
No one cares because if you actually did any research you realized it was Bioware's incompetence. Look at Respawn and Apex. Are they not under EA? Yet their reaching new heights. Go do some research
@@alexvike6899 EA cut the plug on Anthem not BioWare. Sorry that ya took it the wrong way. I was talking about how EA was making promises. Not BioWare. Biowares a whole new bucket of crap to cover.
I understand BioWare made the game and didn’t make a good one. But EA is still at the forefront of publishing and makes the calls on how long games are supported. Not to mention EA does or helps with the majority of game marketing which is the main reason anthem made so many players mad. It wasn’t the game promised or shown in trailers. I’m not looking to argue, just stating my piece. Ya don’t like it move on.
@@nickweigel4598 Look at Respawn and Apex legends. They’re under EA yet their reaching new peaks with that sweet Titanfall lore. We’re they supposed to fail to?
I love it when you people never blame the developers when it's 100% their fault that they sat on their asses for most of the time that EA gave them. When they came to check development the developers finally remembered they had to make a f****** game
I still hope the idea of the game gets revisited. The suits flying in an open world... this whole concept is so amazing... I really wish anthem worked out...
I am nothing like a traditional Christian but I take extreme interest in the stories and lessons of the Bible and other sacred texts - and I just want to say I totally didn’t expect you to evoke the story of Jesus Matthew and Judas and I have tremendous respect for you making that comparison and bringing that into the video with the risk of being put in a box. Mad respect Timbo. I’d love to interview you for my podcast If you ever have the time and would like to talk about spirituality with two bartenders who are deep seekers of truth. Thanks for the courage
I don't even play the game and I'm still sad.
i was just waiting for 2.0 to get back into it... sad that ill never get the chance
Imagine if everyone made games like no mans sky is now and supporting it to the end it would be a new world
Do we have any update two months later?
It looks so cool too. A real shame. Should’ve been a regular single player bioware game.
Nah, the MP was amazing... just needed to be fixed
I think the only reason why people liked them was because of "WEE! I CAN FLY LIKE IRON MAN!!".
I loved anthem 1. The only problem I had was that my rewards tab at the market was greyed out and no matter what I did I couldn’t use it. Without the bugs the game would be an easy 10/10 for me
I will never forget the Anthem. RIP
If someone is going to make anthem fan-game?
The best they can do now is sell the game to a team who would love to work on it
Honestly Anthem was a dreamer’s game; too good to be true around E3. Then the beta came out for the game, little did we all know we were pretty much playing the full game already. Should’ve known that EA/BioWare would drive this idea down the drain like countless other games developed by EA.
The greatest potential can fail if not cared for…
Let’s start a movement save anthem
Truly the ideas I have alone could save it
I know a lot of people hated Anthem because of what it promised but man I'm gonna miss it, I've never seen a game with better customization and I really did love the gameplay
I haven’t played this game in a long time. And each time I think about i say “this game should not have died”. Another game EA just gave up on.
Bioware played us like a damn fiddle with Anthem cancellation but you know what, i wont stop playing it because this game is something else in my opinion, the flying mechanic at least is satisfying.
Flying and then suddenly dropping when you do the ground slam. I stress tested the game and it looks amazing all the way down the drop.
The best thing we got from this was Neil Blomkamp's wicked live action trailer for the game. I'd watch that movie. And pay money to do so.
link?
It is so sad. I was waiting for anthem next.
I mean we all knew this was going to happen.
They might still come back to it once they finish dragon age 4 they haven’t officially said their done just that their not working on it right now
Please don’t crush my hopes
I hope this game was so fun
They literally said that there done with anthem
Don't give ppl false hope though
Just got back into Anthem recently me and 3 of my friends been playing non stop since hope they re work it or push future content
I never played the game but I always wanted it to succeed because the idea behind the game seemed solid
I just started playing too. I think this is a pretty fun game. There’s obviously things that needed to be improved on. But I had a blast with gameplay so far. Being Iron Man with Guns is fun.
I feel like if they remade anthem for next gen/pc only, it could have strived for what it had wanted 😔
From what it sounded like i think they hadn’t even started production on it and had just been coming up with the ideas for it. So it probably would take another year or 2 to launch it which doesn’t seem worth it considering there’s a chance it doesn’t click.
The scale of this game was massive. The only thing to surpass that scale are the lies told about what this game is or can be.
The foundation of this game was solid af, but EA built a broken down shack on top of it.
The suits and the customization was sweet. They dropped the ball with content.
Besides it wouldn't have been worth it because they did not make the money back on this game plus the millions of dollars it would have taken to actually fix this game wouldn't have been worth it
from a non player perspective what tipped me off is :
1. the lack of updates for anthem reboot when they promised more (yes they can do a radio silence and still fix the game, after all NMS did this for their first big update)
2. most damningly Christian Dailey saying nothing about Anthem when he said that he was going to do Dragon Age 4 when Mark Darrah and Casey Hudson retired at least until Anthem Next got canned announcement.
"EA knows this"
hate to break to you but Star Wars BF2 was in a way better state and had more players in it than any other EA game and EA shut it down.
Its actually not that bad now all it really needs was so more unique weapons and more strong holds
I'm still gonna play it, let's hope those bastards at EA change their minds about anthem, it's fun for me
Anthem should have never existed. Bioware is good at making single player story driven games and RPG.
I just got the game for the first time on PSN for $10 on sale. Really enjoying it so far, I know it should be better than what it is but there's definitely still potential here. Hopefully enough people pick it up again to where EA considers starting up Anthem 2.0 again
Is anthem itself cancelled like no future content or updatea or just anthem 2.0?
anthem 2.0 was the future content coming for anthem, they gave up on the game indefinitely
I just bought Anthem (yes, I did) and frankly...I LOVE IT !
Sad cause this was such an amazing game concept and could’ve been one of the top games ever
We Need Anthem Free Game
This concept was a dream almost come true. The flight mechanics and verticality,, etc.. this game still had potential to be #1 if given the time, and they gave up.
I hope they sell to a studio who's capable and passionate.
i was waiting to play anthem 2.0
very disappointed. it wasn't an unfun game. such a shame
Lol after this video they'll be like.. after we're done with our other IPs we're going back to make the game better
one big point is:
the world, the planet, the animals and feeling, the structures of old buildings give a way better feeling than to play this the whole time... there were sooo little amount of cool things to do... basically u was flying around 5-10 mins to kill some waves and thats it... it must have been more like diablo 2 for example in that sense to get big attention
Its so sad, all the concepts of and in the game were so good. I can't understand why EA decide to end to work on Anthem
R.I.P Anthem, you will be remembered for what you could have be, not for what you was.
Okay, then can I have my $60 back?
Lmao
Man that $60 is gone like a bat out hell
Every time people say a game will finally kill Destiny, that game becomes cursed and flops on it’s head
Fortnite will kill destiny.
Now 2 wait
Does anybody know how one could obtain the rights of Anthem?
I think it’s good that they gave up on anthem because it shows that not every game can be a no mans sky.
Especially with the developers have eight years to make something wasn't a barebones disaster
I remember the first time seeing Anthem. For the first few minutes, I felt joy. Until I saw EA is behind it. Is there like a petition we can sign to remove EA from the gaming community. They give up on games we want to play and focus on anything that can score them a few bucks.
Just bought this for 3.50 on psn and decided to play it. Just realized it's canceled.
i booted it up a few weeks ago. couldn't log in. the servers are down i think
Jesus, Judas, Peter - Wow - Glad you went there.
I can listen to Timbo's ads all day
What a shame this didn't work out.
I'd argue that the gameplay or at least it's movement mechanics were spot on. Of course, that alone can't carry a game to success. I really hope some other game makes use of some of anthem's backbone for an engaging gameplay.
@@RhinoAndBirds lol most games the movement mechanics work don't they I dont know how you being a gamer can justify defending a scam of a game like that bioware are a shell all the great people left ages ago ea just using a brand name dragon age will be the same mark my words .
Idk I liked the game, conceptually it had something really interesting, and I liked the designs of the javelins, but the game was never going to have some great nms type comeback, sadly there was too little done to fix the game in too large a span of time, it's sad and I wish they did, but logically I think ea made the right call from a business standpoint
As a guy who was interested in learning about where Anthem is at the moment and also a Christian. You my sir, earned a subscriber.
I just started playing this game and there's a lot of great potential. I would love to see a sequel or something, just with more polish or quality of life improvements.
I wish Bioware wouldve invested these resources into Star Wars: The Old Republic
I really want them to re-visit Anthem. Like the potential that it has.....🥺
Man, I hope another game like Anthem comes out. It was such a cool idea. It sucks they pulled the plug on it I was looking forward to it
I just never had the money to buy it it was 60 in the online store for longest and it discouraged me but I went to a local pawn shop and bought it for $5
Great concept, fun gameplay and decent flight mechanics. Just a shame it was rushed
Im not having the same issues, my menus are different, i can launch and leave a mission at any time, my friends and i have been loving it the past couple days, if anything its too easy but thats only because i havent unlocked the higher difficulties. Perhaps ill find myself done with the missions too soon but so far the gameplay is great
I’m still here playing Anthem July 2022 on PS4
I love your video, I love so much more about Anthem then than destiny and I still go back to it because it’s still fun and makes me happy. What is so hard is playing a game that no one is looking after. It would be great to see it resurrected and given the life it deserved. I decided to follow your channel for your shameless mention of church, your pastor, and the cool parallel you drew with Judas and Peter. Bless you brother.
I agree. 🙂
Just bought anthem, then I find out about this. I am keeping the game tho because I like it.
If they just stuck with the road map and continued to add content vs not adding any content to overhaul then people would have a reason to come back and play the game. Then this game might have had a comeback like No Mans Sky and Battlefront 2
Bring anthem back😣🙏🏻
just started the game. dam
Honestly Anthem was a good game for what it is. It just didn't meet the consumers expectations that was set by them. With Anthem 2.0 they could've gone way beyond what we expected and hoped for and revived the game
What if we take the anthem idea, and give it to a good company
A hero looter shooter with INSANE mobility
I would play the game again if they finished the update and released it, I really miss playing it, the game had so much amazing potential to be something great.
Anthem 2.0 was never gonna happen, it was just damage control.
Yeah that's what these guys don't understand Anthem 2.0 never had a chance to begin with. EA gave BioWare 8 years and how many millions to make something and they failed completely
I've been saying that since it was announced. You had fanboys throwing MTX at them to "support" it as well.
More like false hope
I hope outrider won't end up like this
My son,my self, and others just started few months ago and still play it.
I'm currently playing Anthem while watching this. Missed my radar on launch, and I'm just now picking it up. I don't think its that bad of a game, but after watching this video I'm glad I only spent 7$ on it. Sad to see it's considered dead, this game had potential if EA actually cared.
I just hope that Apex Legends doesn’t like hand at throat in a line.
