1:03:20 if you choose the same seed, you might bias your result towards a certain playstyle, but if you dont choose the same seed, you are introducing sheer chance into the 5 games if you have bad boss patterns for one players all players will get those bad patterns, if everyone's seed is random you will have people with ridiculous starts against people with basically unwinnable runs which wont average out over just 5 games i would think (what is unwinnable and not of course partially depends on the deck, but only to a degree, some runs are just impossible before you had many choices) so i feel its a tradeoff between controlling for seed playstyle bias and just controlling for outliar seeds in general
Clocked this video for a random Jorbs run. Got to the point where he skipped dead branch, "I can see the thumbnail now, 'we skipped dead branch"' That is literally the thumbnail on the video it recommends right below this one.
Thinking aloud here, but one could probably empirically investigate this covariance by looking at daily events and finding a correlation for players and certain modifiers. Like, I hate hoarder/collector bonus runs, but maybe someone has that figured out and always ranks well on hoarder days.
@@emilysmith2965 yeah I wasn’t questioning the decision was just commenting on the fact that he says in the moment that he has the clickbait title now but the title and thumbnail reference a different moment in the run
in the final phase of the combo he always starts with shrug it off first and pommel strike second. is there a specific reason for this or doesnt matter
I love watching Jorbs while I'm only half-attentive because every so often there's a moment of silence followed by something wild llke "I haven't thought about the Dewey Decibel system in a long time" and I have to go back to paying attention to figure out what twitch chat is up to
Just a few days ago I had a run like this as ironclad against time eater! I'm not Jorbs so I needed to get to 157 metalicize before I turned the corner against him haha
Regarding game design, I wonder if during development there was discussion of using total cards played as some kind of input. I.e. slightly reward users for optimizing this at a lesser level than hit points. Because this would influence the "fight is basically already won" phase at the end of fights. But maybe that phase already has value, letting the player relax a bit?
dead branch bad? lmao dead branch used to be a common relic and do the same thing. you had it like every other run on ironclad. winning as ironclad back then was basically just get corruption and dead branch and win the game.
Maybe what sundial needs is a patch so that drawing two cards with one card in your discard pile doesn't count as two shuffles. Why is that bug still in the game after all this time?
@@xuanyuanz But it isn't burning pact that counts as two shuffles. It is anything with 2 card draw or more card draw when you have a deck of 0 and a discard pile of 1. He had an infinite going with upgraded pumble strike and shrug it off. As he would play those 2 cards, somehow shuffle the deck 3 times and get refunded 2 energy. Game is bugged but the creatures just call it a feature.

Jorbs explaining how setting a seed for a tournament creates covariance among competitors at 1:01:30 is top shelf Jorbs. Great stuff.

this ironclad is just one champion belt away from being the act 2 boss
Imagine the terror of having champ as your act 2 boss and it attacks you for 7 x ∞
@@bungbung5626 damn, that's almost enough to pierce a single rage
I lost my shit when Jorbs casually whipped out an Excel sheet listing all his mistakes, why he did them and how to not do them again.

16:25 missed lethal and taking damage. Can lethal with uppercut + anger+
But Sundial on wrong number

Crazy how the run got MORE clickable after skipping dead branch
Dead Branch does not play nice with an Ironclad Runic Pyramid

which mods are you running? Relic Stats is probably one but the others?
I think Jorbs plays with "Always get Whale bonus'. So that runs that die to germlin nob doesn't hurt your next run's chance to win.
wait there's a LRR and jorbs content out there??

It counts as two shuffles, because burning pact not only draw 2 cards but also exhaust 1 card, which trigger dark embrace to draw 1 card afterwards.
