    Just accepted an offer for my first SDR role at a reputable company! 60k base salary + $20k commission OTE uncapped and I must say I'm so excited to start. taking a gamble leaving a stable aerospace job for this but I'm betting on myself and making sure it works! It's always thoes risks you are scared to take that tend to be the ones that change your life. Watched your channel through the whole process and has been extremely helpful through it all!

      The layoffs have been looming and the end of year usually brings a slowdown in job openings because of holidays, etc.... That being said, how many places have you applied to? How are you applying?

I just want to get into tech sales for career progression I would love to be an AE.

    Afternoon! Really been enjoying you guys videos as I've been wanting to go into tech sales for the last year. Do you think it is possible to find a 75-80k base for a SDR role? I'm currently at 100k salary job but wanting a job that pays based off of performance and a better work life balance. TIA!

    • @toddparker2229

      That range is few and far between for an SDR but they are out there.

    • @techsales-higherlevels
      @techsales-higherlevels  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's possible, but they are harder to come by. Total comp of 100+ is definitely possible.
      The long term view you have to have (in my opinion) is that this is a 5 year play. When you're looking at a potential step down or same salary in year one, it pales in comparison to making $150k-$250k in years 3-4+.
      As mentioned in the video, my first year was 75k but quickly exceeded 100k. Year 3 and beyond have been amazing and something that would have taken 15-20 years in my electrical engineering path (if ever).
      What do you do now?

    • @henkegilfillian8599

      It’s FAR more realistic to find a SDR job that can pay $100k with hitting targets vs an $80k base. So the question then becomes: do you have confidence you can succeed in the role? If so then a $55k+ base shouldn’t scare you 😉

    I am currently an email marketer and I'm thinking of considering a new marketing related skill. Do you think this would be a logical skill for me to consider?
    Also, are the roles in the tech sale space remote because I'm currently living in Nigeria and I'm interested in working at big companies out there.
