I’ve met Cristian in person. His mindset and execution is far beyond his age. Got that insight from a random 10 minute locker room conversation and this just further proved that for me. Keep it up 🔥
Good job my boy I am proud for you 😊
💎
So true!
Very helpful for any industry. Thank you for sharing your struggles as I’m in the thick of it right now. Working at Data Halls for two big companies has made me hungry for technology and what jobs surround such a diverse and lucrative industries. I’ve been privileged to be in both instal and decom for these companies but it offers little to no advancement. Hoping to find my true north.
If you want a thorough run through of the formal underpinnings of what this guy has stumbled upon….just find Chris Voss.
Do you have insight on finding companies to apply for? Utilizing your content but having trouble finding open jobs I am genuinely interested in.
LinkedIn typically has the most consistent. Filter for jobs that fit your criteria and then set an alert for open jobs.
Not so much a cold calling technique but I find that positioning lower level employees as champions and focusing on their growth and advancement can help with meeting booking. Works well if targeting a persona that maybe doesn’t have budget authority but has strong internal influence to get you meetings with key stakeholders.
Great job, Cristian!! What are his socials? Instagram?

Great video. He had good insights
Best question: wouldn't it a bad idea to invest 30 min to have a deeper conversation to understand if we can help.

@@techsales-higherlevels👍currently a sophomore at community college on scholarship for free then will transfer to 4 year school
Just accepted an offer for my first SDR role at a reputable company! 60k base salary + $20k commission OTE uncapped and I must say I'm so excited to start. taking a gamble leaving a stable aerospace job for this but I'm betting on myself and making sure it works! It's always thoes risks you are scared to take that tend to be the ones that change your life. Watched your channel through the whole process and has been extremely helpful through it all!
Congrats and good luck!
This was great content! Thank you for sharing! Cleared up a lot between direct sales and SE. I graduated from course careers but didn’t like the environment direct sales would put me in. Been thinking about SE but didn’t know if it would be harder than DS. Currently in insurance sales now and studying for security+. I’m sure after I obtain security+ I should be able to break into SE. hopefully 🙏🏾
I'd still be open minded to the SDR position as well to get your foot in the door
Video quality looks great!
Thanks!
Afternoon! Really been enjoying you guys videos as I've been wanting to go into tech sales for the last year. Do you think it is possible to find a 75-80k base for a SDR role? I'm currently at 100k salary job but wanting a job that pays based off of performance and a better work life balance. TIA!
That range is few and far between for an SDR but they are out there.
It's possible, but they are harder to come by. Total comp of 100+ is definitely possible. The long term view you have to have (in my opinion) is that this is a 5 year play. When you're looking at a potential step down or same salary in year one, it pales in comparison to making $150k-$250k in years 3-4+. As mentioned in the video, my first year was 75k but quickly exceeded 100k. Year 3 and beyond have been amazing and something that would have taken 15-20 years in my electrical engineering path (if ever). What do you do now?
I work in a refinery as a technician. With no earning potential like that of tech sales! No work life balance.....always drained at the end of the day/ week.
@@techsales-higherlevels I've went from $25 he to $52 an hour in 5 years however I'm very near the top out for my craft
It’s FAR more realistic to find a SDR job that can pay $100k with hitting targets vs an $80k base. So the question then becomes: do you have confidence you can succeed in the role? If so then a $55k+ base shouldn’t scare you 😉
I am a freshman in college, but I am interested in pursuing tech sales. Do you have advice for how I can build my resume and sharpen my skills?
What are you studying?
I am an AE for a tech company and my salary is significantly low and the commission aren’t all that great. Putting me at close to 60k a year. What are your suggestions in this scenario. Should I look into another company or keep growing my pipeline where I am at.
If your total compensation is $60k a year I would look for another company yes, there are lots of tech companies hiring SMB AEs that have relevant experience for much higher than $60k. What do you sell currently?
I have four interviews scheduled this week for a Territory Account Executive position at Salesforce. I don’t have a background in tech sales, but I do have 10 years of experience in B2C sales, currently at the director level. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Happy to help, but can you ask more specific questions? Currently too vague for me to give any meaningful advice outside of what is in our videos
It is difficult just to get a damn interview for an SDR role lol
The layoffs have been looming and the end of year usually brings a slowdown in job openings because of holidays, etc.... That being said, how many places have you applied to? How are you applying? Still seeing tons of success at the best companies in the world when you attack the application process the right way
Keep trying.
My issue is interviewing skills
@@techsales-higherlevels I apply directly in their website, not through LinkedIn. I was told by a recruiter from Gartner she is scheduling the final interview only to be ghosted with not even a follow up email response. It is exhausting, specially since I will technically make about the same money if not less than what I’m currently making. I just want to get into tech sales for career progression I would love to be an AE.
@@techsales-higherlevels Im applying directly through their website, not through LinkedIn. Got ghosted for my final interview at Gartner after being told they were scheduling me for the final round. It is exhausting. I returned to college to get my bachelors degree and managed both full time job and being a full time student, graduated with a 3.94 gpa while exceeding 600K in sales for this year, well over my quota yet cant get a chance to make my case.
Hi do you have a roleplay or able to share the script template you use for discovery?
What specifically are you looking for?
Please date me Eric

Upfront Contract, a powerful-organic way to drive a prospect down the funnel. I know this is an older video, but you guys put some great stuff out there. Thank you for the content and insights you provide.
Some good info here from personal experience- would love to see how these could be tweaked for B2C. Next time you record your podcast, everybody should be 5 to 7 inches away from the microphone at most. Your podcast would sound 10 times better, like Joe Rogan‘s - you have the exact same microphones, but you have to get a lot closer to them.
What are you unable to hear here? Genuinely curious what is off
Today, do you still feel making the switch is worth it? Is the market saturated yet?
@cozywanderer yes, I would still do it today if I was an engineer. There have certainly been a lot of layoffs in the news but the reality is we've had more people break in this year than the last 2 years combined. Additionally, the hype of the career has tapered off while hiring remains only ~15% lower than its peak for SDRs, so it's getting much easier to stand out. Additionally when the economy continues to improve hopefully within the next 12 months, it's not the people that then decide to do sales that reap the rewards, it's the people already in seat that broke in and have built a solid brand and skillset that then capitalize on better market conditions. Making the move will never feel comfortable, even if the market went back to insane conditions from 2-3 years ago. What do you do currently?
@techsales-higherlevels good to know! Thank you! I'm 3.5 years into software engineering with more of a finance background prior to that. Looking to stay in the tech space but have had interest in the sales side of things for a couple years but I have zero sales experience. I mostly just haven't been sure that I could be good at this but I want to be, so currently binging your videos and looking into your program. Great content!
Good to know! Thank you! I’m a software engineer about 3.5 years into the job and a history of about 8-9 years in finance roles. Been looking to stay in the tech space but wanted to kinda step away from the super technical side of things and tech sales has been of interest for some time but I have no sales experience. Sales has always been intimidating to me but I’m really getting the itch to at least give it a try, so binging your videos and looking into your course! Really enjoying the content so far.
@@cozywanderer Thanks, let me know if you have any questions as you consider it. And ya unless you really enjoy the highly technical stuff and want to become a subject matter expert long term, making a move to a customer facing role that leverages your technical background gives you longer term earning potential and stability in my opinion. Sales is definitely more up and down, high highs and low lows, but tbh I think I'd be more concerned right now career wise about being a software developer compared to a revenue professional with AI already being able to write functional code. There's naturally a larger talent pool and more people competing for non-technical roles, but if you have a technical background, you've already got a strong leg up on the competition.
Do they have anything for AEs that want to become better AEs. I see a bunch of BDR stuff in the courses

Hello everyone. I’m new to the channel and I’ve watched every episode lol. It has been motivating
great talk!
So you're telling me we should say "how are you" like 99.9% of cold callers are trained to do? If you say so ...
What do you say?
He flat out, says in the video that he’s gonna tell you things that you would think or counterintuitive. The reason you give the pleasantry is because people are expecting the pleasantry. This used to be the zig so everybody zagged. Now that everybody’s zagging, he saying go back to zigging
How to transition from IT services sales enterprise account executive to IT product sales account executive role
Can you provide more context?
I have a lot to say about this video. With all of the "sales hack" content that has become all too popular in today's social media space, this is like a breath of fresh air. You are being realistic about what it's like to communicate with human beings, not trying to "hack the conversation". Lot's of value, I really appreciate it.
@@garethwhitehead4938 appreciate it!
Very good content. Tip: check the sound.
@@felipeeliasmiguel8905 what about it?
Always a lot of gems on these episodes. Perfect timing as I am currently working to not come off as desperate in some deals but instead consultative
Love this sort of content. Would love to hear a deeper dive into how all of these factors change between levels (SDR, AR & beyond)
love it! so genuine
