This sounds like it's sung by an Asha who has been a sorcerer's apprentice for some time, which I think she should have been. I would make that due to a traumatic experience he’s now a very paranoid man who truly just wants to keep everyone safe and he picks wishes that he deems best for everyone. Amaya would also be traumatized but instead of focusing on wishes she focuses on appearance. I actually made my own little version of this story except VERY different. Basically there’s a space goddess named Chorosthea who watches over the stars. One little star named Eveline wonders about the Earth, and decides to take it upon herself to explore, thinking she’ll just pass by, but ends up falling into the Earth, losing her light, at least most of it. She gets adopted by a royal family but misses her old life at home in the stars, among the abyss of space, so she calls out to Chorosthea and asks for a sign, something, anything to help Eveline get back. And she does, a shining star dwindles down, helping Eveline regain her previous light.
watching a bunch of videos abt why the music in wish doesn't work and then stumbling upon THIS is absolutely great god this was stunning I really loved listening to it!
I absolutely love your version of Asha’s I want song! I’m far from being musically gifted, but I knew there was something off with the rhythm and contents of the song, so I’m glad your version fixed some of those issues. I might jump on the bandwagon of Wish rewrites cuz it rly excites me that ppl are taking their own artistic liberties with the story (and they’re super cool 😆). Even I was thinking about how the art of the original movie could be better. Could I use your song to make an animatic?
I’m writing a Wish fanfiction on whattpad and this has captivated me. The way you sing it and the lyrics are so passionate and full of emotion ❤ May I include the song in the story? Ofc I’ll give you credits 🥺😭✨
of course, of course! the fact this is inspiring other fan works is making me so happy... i got so attached to asha while writing this and the idea of all of us running rogue with her is so fun. also unfortunately i can't take credit for the singing, this is the vocal synthesizer synthesizerV using the "natalie" voicebank! it's like vocaloid, but it's the future so it's gotten unbelievably good.
This is magnificent! I adore the music and lyrics! I wish that the quality of Disneys content wasn’t going down, but the magic lives on through people like you!
this is so beautiful!! i've seen people compare asha to esmeralda from hunchback of notre dame, but your version of the song reminds me far more of god help the outcasts than the one in the actual film ever did. disney's version has really bizarre, poorly written lyrics and asha's motivations are extremely lacking. yours actually WORKS as a well-written "i want" song that expresses asha's desire to have better for the people she loves and how she doesn't know what she can possibly do to improve things other than just have faith, even if it's hard.
esmeralda is 100% the most explicit and intentional legacy nod here other than "the when you wish upon a star" motif! a lot of the press material around wish and interviews really wanted to frame asha as a young activist... and we already have a movie with that genre of heroine who is really successful narratively! i'm glad the callback landed without being too on the nose! 🐴
THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!! No way!! (please tell)This is some kind of ,christian' re-think of the situation what she was?! Is it possible? Please tell(write) me that you was inspired by that world view.
so, no! but yes, if that's your belief system and what you turn to in times of desperation. asha here is still wishing to the stars, to that abstract concept of something bigger & greater than her. to the world itself. to the very concept of possibility, to the idea that by speaking it into the world something will respond in kind. whenever i experience this feeling, i experience it from a very... humanist perspective? it's still spiritual, but towards the people around me in my community instead of a divine. that said, i know religious people in my life who experience this feeling in the same way, and i often reflect on it as the fundamental value we share as humans. even if we interpret its meaning in different ways, it's the same emotion. humans just feel the need to believe in magic sometimes, regardless of what we attribute as the source.
This is super amazing! Im trying to remake this movie, (proof is on my channel) and Id really love to incorporate this song into my movie! If it's okay with you?
i regret to inform you that natalie is a synthesizerV voice library, and not a real person, kind of like how none of the instruments are real! kind of like hatsune miku, but with fancy (and very importantly, ethically sourced!) training data. that said, the voice library's voice provider is Natalie Nicole Gilbert, if you want to hear her real voice! 🐴
@hpheisler yeah, i realized when i went thru your shorts. but i made this comment earlier haha. thanks a lot! I'd like to hear her real voice 😁 also keep up the good work! I'll be listening if you make any more wish stuff 🌠
This would be a perfect song for a sequel, Asha is making a new wish as a fairy godmother. With some modified lyrics like change the, 'fool to look at the sky' concept. Because in Wish, she learns she looks up because she is a star
Hi! I love this version SO MUCH, ive been addicted to listening to this version, its one of my favourite rewritten versions of this song Is there anyway to get just the instrumentals? They sound incredible
This is amazing. I'm trying to do an animated fan remake of the movie, and I would love to use this version of the song if it's okay with you. I'm not sure if I'll actually be able to finish it tbh, but I wanted to ask for permissions before even starting. I'll of course give you all the credit of the song, and put links aswell when possible :) Again, great work with the song!
This is great! This is my version: [Music] In a world where doubt and art flair, A whisper in the cosmic air. With fiery dreams, 'neath stars so bright, Crafting wishes in the silent night. A dance with doubt, a wish takes flight, On the canvas of the sky, a playful light. Passion flows like a fiery stream, In a grand dream, not just a fleeting gleam. [Chorus] Wish at night, stars shining bright, Dreams take flight in soft moonlight. Simple and bright, like a moonbeam, In the starry night, a magical dream. In a quiet night where stars conspire, A wish streaks higher, like a comet's fire. Moments etched in starlight's gleam, Carving a path beyond the ordinary seam. In a realm untouched, I tread the way, Beneath the vast, open sky, where doubts may sway. Amidst the stars, a whisper so slight, A wish emerges, seeking its flight. Determined and calm, under cosmic light, A wish unfurls, gentle and light. Dreams seek the sea, barriers fall, Influencing the path, a silent call. [Chorus] Wish at night, stars shining bright, Dreams take flight in soft moonlight. Simple and bright, like a moonbeam, In the starry night, a magical dream. In the silence, a difference is spun, Wishes dance beneath the cosmic sun. Subtle whispers in the starlit air, Hoping for a world beyond compare.
The song is absolute GORGEOUS but i just wanna ask if u also made the background art? I wanna find the original artist for the bg cuz its very nice but i couldnt find it credited in the description
i wanted to clean up the instrumental of it b/c folks asked... and i just made a bunch of updates & fixes to my recording set up... so no promises... but it is a possibility! 🐴

@@tofuaddict5946 i ended up becoming a huge fan of her as a person the past few months. she writes a very different kind of music than i do, but in every single interview she truly radiates a kindness, warmth, and passion that is so evident? i don't know. she wrote songs that were authentically like all of her other work! it was the leadership at disney that chose to hire her for this project without considering how it might clash. this is the reason my friends and i have started calling the wish songs straight up camp. they're very sincere and well meaning songs written under bizarre circumstances. they're ridiculous. they don't make any sense. but she did her job and clearly had so much fun doing it. we have started saying "i was sweet but now i'm... something else!" around the house.
I don't know if it's funny or sad to see these people on the internet trying to rewrite the film, be it the script or the music, thinking they can do better, and end up presenting something like that. My God. If you're reading this, I have nothing against you, it's difficult to write songs, but you didn't do a better job than the film as you think you did, like these people who think they're fixing the film saying stuff like "Oh the concept was far more interesting, so I made this story based on, cause we were robbed", and present those horrible fanfics, thinking they nailed it, it gets really embarrassing and I considered the movie like 6.5/10, but comparing with those rewrites people are making, the actual movie is 10/10

Thank You @h. p. heisler, for. . . for being clear in the video description of your true intentions on making this rewrite. . . I appreciate your humility and giving the creators and the original songwriter of ‘ Wish ’ the credit that they deserve. You really expressed the way I wanted for Asha to be in the film. Here's Why: Asha is a well-thought-out character, aside from design wise, her personality is interesting! She has an innate desire wanting the best for others. And that! makes her a great main character. However, what had lost her best trait is that, after knowing the truth about the given wishes, she deals with it in a way that she's being unreasonable and immature, Magnifico has a point why he doesn't grants everyone's wishes and as king he must value the safety first of his own kingdom than anything else. Sadly, she was made into a stubborn little teenager throwing a tantrum not getting what she wanted. Well I digress, I wished (pun unintended) they made Asha explain more better why is it not wrong to pursue each person's wish. Prove to Magnifico his ways are valid but also hers. But I'm not here to rant here my complaints about the film. So. . . getting back. In this rewrite, the lyrics of the song, it made her more pure. Somewhat, sincere and caring for the people of Rosas. She's more calmer and her wishing is so similar like praying. I'm just in awe with the words were used and the delivery of the vocals really touches the soul. Well I don't like comparing people, but you did a great job on making it, and conveying the message that was supposed for it to convey. Thank You again @h. p. heisler for sharing your admiring passion to us. ❤
oh... thank you! thank you! i saw this just as i woke up and it made me start crying! my little story time for you is that when i was in art school, we had an assignment that genuinely changed my brain forever: design an album cover to an album that you HATE. because it was at the height of katy perry's witness era, i chose her, and the album PRISM. in the span of about a month, i went from absolutely detesting her and her work to... deeply loving her as an artist and human being, and genuinely daydreaming about working with her one day. i'd always been someone to approach work with curiosity and empathy, and i've always been someone more interested in understanding why a piece of work was unsuccessful at reaching its intended goals than just decrying it... but this assignment sent me down a rabbit hole. i listened to every single one of her albums. i listened to every single interview. i became intensely curious about her as a person, and her career as the sum of parts much more complicated than just her choices alone. i still really didn't like the album, but i understood everything that lead up to it, and could understand why choices weren't made in a vacuum. that is to say... i went on the same journey with the entire production history of wish. i've watched the "into the unknown" making of documentary for frozen 2 i think three times, and will probably watch the upcoming documentary series on the making of wish even more while i try to piece together where this movie went off the rails. movies are the collective result of hundreds upon hundreds of people trying to do their best work. no one is showing up trying to fail. but sometimes things happen, and it's like one of my #1 professional goals in my actual creative work that i get paid for to understand how those things happen and how to avoid them in my own projects. that is all also to say: i am also accidentally a gigantic julia michaels fan now. i have listened to her entire discography. i do not like her music! we really have like polar opposite approaches to lyricism and storytelling through our music! but i think she's so much goddamn fun and i think it would be genuinely so cool if she ever sees this because i 100% believe we would have a lovely conversation about how we each tried to crack the nut. she is an artist who takes sincere and pure joy and pride in her craft, and i can only ever respect that even if we're from very different schools of it.
@@hpheisler thanks for sharing @h. p. heisler your journey. Never thought you guys went to school for that. But that's great! I'm never prouder for each and one of you's achievement! Keep doing what your good at, and someday you'll be stellar!🌟

I LOVE THIS AHH I HATE LISTENING TO WHAT COULDVE BEEN 😭 making me WISH this is what I want got but at least now we have it
This song is incredible! Definitely so much better than the official one
This is fantastic!!! Definetely fonna listen to this … way too much. How‘s this so much more emotional than the whole movie?
Absolutely amazing!!❤
watching a bunch of videos abt why the music in wish doesn't work and then stumbling upon THIS is absolutely great
god this was stunning I really loved listening to it!
Fan songs and art are more productive than rant videos.
This is FANTASTICCC so underrated I love it so much!!
Could I use your song to make an animatic?
thank you, thank you, and permission granted! 🎉
OH MY GOSH I LOVE THIS
I’m writing a Wish fanfiction on whattpad and this has captivated me.
Tysm!!! Trust me when I say I loved your artwork is that I truly did.
And don't worry about the vocals😊 the lyrics are amazing
You made this song way better.
This so beatifull 🥹
Beautiful ❤
This is beautiful ❤❤❤
HOW AM I FINDING THIS NOW!!!!! Is soooooo unbelievably good😭😭😭😭😭😭the world needs to know
SO I MAKE THIS WISH! TO HAVE SOMETHING MORE FOR US THAN THIS! (me after watching the movie, we could've got so much more)
Your voice is beautiful.🎶
The title for Knowing What I Know Now should be He Is No Longer My King.
This is awesome
This is so lovely 🥺💕
This is super amazing! Im trying to remake this movie, (proof is on my channel) and Id really love to incorporate this song into my movie! If it's okay with you?
@@StarBoy1YT go forth, my child.
NOW all we need is magnifico and to cap star and get star-boy instead
i keep coming back to this. it's got a beautiful melody, is so inspiring and emotional.
btw does natalie have a channel?
i regret to inform you that natalie is a synthesizerV voice library, and not a real person, kind of like how none of the instruments are real! kind of like hatsune miku, but with fancy (and very importantly, ethically sourced!) training data.
that said, the voice library's voice provider is Natalie Nicole Gilbert, if you want to hear her real voice!
Because in Wish, she learns she looks up because she is a star
underrated woah
Perfection.
I like both versions of the song
Amazing song
This is a beautiful song. 😍
Hi! I love this version SO MUCH, ive been addicted to listening to this version, its one of my favourite rewritten versions of this song
Is there anyway to get just the instrumentals? They sound incredible
Wow.
This is so lovely!! ❤
This is beautiful I wanna animatic this so bad
Please make the reprise version ❤❤❤
This works a bit more :3
Would it be okay if I used this version of this song in a fanfic rewrite? I promise to credit you and tell people to listen.
absolutely!!
@@hpheisler Thank you! :D
it would be awasome to hear ariana debose's vocals on this!
This is amazing. I'm trying to do an animated fan remake of the movie, and I would love to use this version of the song if it's okay with you. I'm not sure if I'll actually be able to finish it tbh, but I wanted to ask for permissions before even starting. I'll of course give you all the credit of the song, and put links aswell when possible :)
Again, great work with the song!
of course of course and quite frankly every time someone says they're doing this i get filled with INFINITE POWER so THANK YOU! 🐴
@@hpheisler Hahahah I can imagine, thanks a lot for the opportunity!! 🙏
PLEASE tell me this will be on spotify sometime omgggg
I love this! Will this be on Spotify
Sounds better.
❤
This is great!
This is my version:
[Music] In a world where doubt and art flair,
A whisper in the cosmic air.
With fiery dreams, 'neath stars so bright,
Crafting wishes in the silent night.
A dance with doubt, a wish takes flight,
On the canvas of the sky, a playful light.
Passion flows like a fiery stream,
In a grand dream, not just a fleeting gleam.
[Chorus]
Wish at night, stars shining bright,
Dreams take flight in soft moonlight.
Simple and bright, like a moonbeam,
In the starry night, a magical dream.
In a quiet night where stars conspire,
A wish streaks higher, like a comet's fire.
Moments etched in starlight's gleam,
Carving a path beyond the ordinary seam.
In a realm untouched, I tread the way,
Beneath the vast, open sky, where doubts may sway.
Amidst the stars, a whisper so slight,
A wish emerges, seeking its flight.
Determined and calm, under cosmic light,
A wish unfurls, gentle and light.
Dreams seek the sea, barriers fall,
Influencing the path, a silent call.
[Chorus]
Wish at night, stars shining bright,
Dreams take flight in soft moonlight.
Simple and bright, like a moonbeam,
In the starry night, a magical dream.
In the silence, a difference is spun,
Wishes dance beneath the cosmic sun.
Subtle whispers in the starlit air,
Hoping for a world beyond compare.
This is definitely AI :)
The song is absolute GORGEOUS but i just wanna ask if u also made the background art? I wanna find the original artist for the bg cuz its very nice but i couldnt find it credited in the description
yes! my art as well. 🐴
Do you have a instrumental version? I’d like to sing to this song
I wonder if Wish was an IP would it be better?
What do I have to do to listen the male cover on this version of the song?
i wanted to clean up the instrumental of it b/c folks asked... and i just made a bunch of updates & fixes to my recording set up... so no promises... but it is a possibility!
🐴
Whoa who drew and sang this?
lyrics, art, music, all mine! vocalist is the SynthesizerV voicebank "Natalie", i.e. a text-to-speech vocal synthesizer. the magic of technology when you're a solo songwriter with a baritone range who can't pull off a disney princess. 😅
@@hpheisler ooh cool!!!
@@hpheisler im super glad ur also rlly nice to julia micheals, i feel like some people wont cut her some slack when shes just doing her best and working with what she could. Wish worth making aint bad.
@@hpheisler i think wish's songs are more feel good songs than anything, it isnt bad just not disney worthy. Also is the sweet thing a song lyric or?
I don't know if it's funny or sad to see these people on the internet trying to rewrite the film, be it the script or the music, thinking they can do better, and end up presenting something like that. My God. If you're reading this, I have nothing against you, it's difficult to write songs, but you didn't do a better job than the film as you think you did, like these people who think they're fixing the film saying stuff like "Oh the concept was far more interesting, so I made this story based on, cause we were robbed", and present those horrible fanfics, thinking they nailed it, it gets really embarrassing and I considered the movie like 6.5/10, but comparing with those rewrites people are making, the actual movie is 10/10
❤ I’m just saying that I don’t think you need a new phone because you have a lot more stuff that I can get you for the next couple of months but if you’re still looking to buy a new one 1️⃣ to get a better price I would be willing to pay for it if I had the money 💰 for the phone and I don’t have to worry that much more I don’t want it I would be more comfortable if you were looking at a different price but you could get me adopted that would be good😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 and I’m so sad for your family and I hope you have a wonderful life with your family 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Here's Why:
Asha is a well-thought-out character, aside from design wise, her personality is interesting!
oh... thank you! thank you! i saw this just as i woke up and it made me start crying!
my little story time for you is that when i was in art school, we had an assignment that genuinely changed my brain forever:
design an album cover to an album that you HATE. because it was at the height of katy perry's witness era, i chose her, and the album PRISM.
in the span of about a month, i went from absolutely detesting her and her work to... deeply loving her as an artist and human being, and genuinely daydreaming about working with her one day. i'd always been someone to approach work with curiosity and empathy, and i've always been someone more interested in understanding why a piece of work was unsuccessful at reaching its intended goals than just decrying it... but this assignment sent me down a rabbit hole. i listened to every single one of her albums. i listened to every single interview. i became intensely curious about her as a person, and her career as the sum of parts much more complicated than just her choices alone. i still really didn't like the album, but i understood everything that lead up to it, and could understand why choices weren't made in a vacuum.
that is to say... i went on the same journey with the entire production history of wish. i've watched the "into the unknown" making of documentary for frozen 2 i think three times, and will probably watch the upcoming documentary series on the making of wish even more while i try to piece together where this movie went off the rails. movies are the collective result of hundreds upon hundreds of people trying to do their best work. no one is showing up trying to fail. but sometimes things happen, and it's like one of my #1 professional goals in my actual creative work that i get paid for to understand how those things happen and how to avoid them in my own projects.
that is all also to say: i am also accidentally a gigantic julia michaels fan now. i have listened to her entire discography. i do not like her music! we really have like polar opposite approaches to lyricism and storytelling through our music! but i think she's so much goddamn fun and i think it would be genuinely so cool if she ever sees this because i 100% believe we would have a lovely conversation about how we each tried to crack the nut. she is an artist who takes sincere and pure joy and pride in her craft, and i can only ever respect that even if we're from very different schools of it.
@@hpheisler thanks for sharing @h. p. heisler your journey. Never thought you guys went to school for that. But that's great! I'm never prouder for each and one of you's achievement! Keep doing what your good at, and someday you'll be stellar!🌟
I love this
