Steve wrote a book on tapping in the '80 and I learned so much from that book. It came with a tape for the examples as well if I remember correctly. By writing that book, Steve definitely helped me become a better guitarist, thank you Steve and God Bless. And Mr. Green, your interviews are excellent my man, thank you as well.

Jason, another great interview with an extremely talented musician. Before this interview aired I watched videos of Steve Lynch demonstrating how he played guitar solos on Autograph albums. What a brilliant guitar player. It’s a shame to hear other musicians that were never original members trying to capitalize on the band’s original success. It kind of reminds me of when former Nameless Ghouls hired by Tobias Forge tried to claim writing credits to Ghost songs when Tobias owns all of the rights to the band. I’m glad to see Steve Lynch putting a passioned effort to keep the legacy of the original members of Autograph alive, as well as advocate for artists’ rights. I will be checking out some of his other work online. Thanks again Jason.

I saw them on Halloween night back in 85 or 86 in Chicago opening for Motley Crue. We had backstage passes met all the guys from Autograph and Tommy Lee. Mick went straight to the bus, Vince hung out for about 3 mins and left with a couple of ladies.. Nikki we never saw. Steve Lynch and Steve Plunkett were the coolest guys we hung out with.. THANKS Jason! Great interview

WSTWJG interviews are the best on YT. Steve is always a solid interview guest. I’m looking forward to seeing him play live again someday. He’s one of the rare players from his era that played at a level way beyond the copy cats and also-rans.
Btw, I’ll be in Cleveland around the time of Steve’s Rock Hall visit. I’ll have to make a point to stop there if they are doing a public event.

Jason Green predicted this outcome! Right from the start he knew hired musicians didn't have rights in the well-established brand Trademark. I mean, there's platinum albums these guys had nothing to do with, yet they were advertising it as theirs on their BIO all through this lawsuit. Some questions, why did the Booking Agent continue to book this band as Autograph and use that Bio to do so? The venues thought they were getting the 80s band Autograph, but they got a group of hired guys involved in an infringement lawsuit. As this new band, Autograph Beyond, why are they not booked under the Tribute Band roster? Any predictions on more lawsuits here? Since you just predicted this "Beyond" band as "not working out" well, I think you'll be right again! Great work Jason. Great interview Steve Lynch!

Steve is definitely this nice and genuine in real life. He can put on a hell of a rock show, but this is no show! lol! Glad he can put this in the past, I felt like he needed to fight this, but he nor Randy’s widow deserved to go through this. If the tables were turned he would not have behaved like that. He would have let Autograph go in to history with honor and grace.

I visited with Steve near his home in April. Our conversations are not music related, sort of. We had lunch at an undisclosed place and during lunch and older guy at the bar and his friends started pointing our way, and I knew it wasn't me. The guy comes over and asks if Steve is in a band from the 80s? Then the smiles came from him as a teenager and Turn up the Radio and more. Steve and I were going to spend more of the day together, but my drive back to Orlando at 5pm took me 4 hours as it was, but we had been chatting since 2009 when we met and many times in between then we saw each other was plenty. I'm proud to know Steve, he's not like other rock stars, and I know a few who still have that chip on their shoulders and never let you in, but Steve is cut from a different cloth than that. We're friends and will remain that, and what we do and talk about is between us and I appreciate our time together. See you again Steve, you know when.
    Nice interview, @jasongreen

I always thought Steve was an extremely underrated guitar player. I memorized and learned his solo from the "That's The Stuff" album and I would play that for people who didn't know anything about Autograph except for "Turn UP the Radio." Folks thought I was a monster on guitar....although I wasn't even close. Would love the 2 Steves to do something new.

It can work both ways. HUGE Queensryche fan here and what happened with Geoff could have crushed the band. Maybe it did, maybe it didn't?! All though Queensryche is now only 2 founding members (Eddie and Whip), they have made it "back" if you will with the emergence of Todd La Torre...Imagine trying to please the crowd your version of "Tate's" like brilliance to please the masses.. haha
Todd couldn't win for losing with a lot of Rychers but those that give him a real chance have witnessed one of the most brilliant vocalists out there at this particular time. He's got out a solo from 2023 and it is more than worthy a listen.
Geoff is off doing his thing and crush'n it his way Queensryche is out doing theirs with a new boost in there asses with Todd.
Zero founding members is a complete no-go in my book and wouldn't support it.

How can it possibly be Autograph without either Steve?
Any recent live footage ive found sounds nothing like classic Autograph.
The bassist/Drummer don’t even do that Synced up lick that is so cool during the “Turn up the radio” chorus.

Hm, I mean they are in it since 75. And the formative years were starting when, 73? Which is normal that a few people try to see who sticks and with whom it works out. Personally, I do not think this is in any way comparable to Autograph were roughly 30 years later new band members make the whole band.

glad to hear Steve Lynch got the rights back. These bands that go out with no original members......it's just crazy to me. If the original member/s sign off on it and profit from it that's different and I'm OK with that (we all have to make money), but what was going on here sounds pretty ridiculous, so I'm very glad to see Lynch has now gotten what is rightfully his. Also kind of sad to hear Plunkett doesn't seem to want to do anything with Autograph anymore. Doesn't make sense to me really, I heard a new song by Plunkett online and it was a rock song, so I can't understand why he wouldn't just regroup with Lynch and put Autograph back together. I actually think if they had proper management they could do well in regards to playing live etc. Especially if it was Plunkett and Lynch together.
I had all 3 Autograph albums and I always thought they were vastly under-appreciated. I graduated from Musicians Institute in the early mid 90's and they had a Gold album from the Sign In Please record on one of the walls. I remember walking past it so many times and thinking how cool it was. And although I'm not a guitarist, I'd personally rather listen to "Hammerhead' over "Eruption" any day of the week. I'm not slagging "Eruption", it's great, but "Hammerhead" sounds otherworldly, as if it was brought down from space from a different planet or galaxy....or like something from a dream where you're floating above the ground. "Hammerhead" is truly an elegant piece of music.
Steve Lynch seems like a really good guy and Autograph deserved to be bigger in my view. They had the one Gold album, and that's something not to many people on Earth can say, but I just felt bad for them in a way. They never got their just due IMO. May sound like a strange thing to say, but I hope Steve Lynch is financially greatly rewarded once he gets the Autograph website and everything up and running again. He just seems like a guy who deserves it.
And like he said, maybe Plunkett will choose to return HOME (my word and view) and we'll get a proper Autograph reunion.

I’m not going to read every comment to see if I’m repeating something someone or other’s have said. But Beyond: released in 2022 was a really good album with To Be Together and Everything being the key tracks of the 13 track album. That’s my opinion. I really don’t see why the guy (Who chose to leave the band) wouldn’t let the other guys play on, as long as he’s included on residuals being the last founding member. Apparently Rand wrote the songs for Beyond. He wanted the other guys to continue. I don’t understand why there’s a problem. Hell Lynyrd Skynyrd has no original members left. They’re still going.

She stated ANYONE can display music memorabilia in the museum for guests to see. Was it an honor that they allowed it? Also, confused again because you state you didn't leave the band for any reason other than your carpel tunnel but yet there's MANY videos of you with your gorgeous ex saying you left to start a new musical adventure PLUS your good bye speech states this.
