I was 9 years old and this movie put me on the half pipe in my buddies garage. We would surf and I have always loved the ocean. We used to play street hockey on our street all the time. I still love all those things. I’m almost 40 now and I urban rollerblade for exercise. And one of my favorite things to do is to blade downhill. I watched that movie SO MANY TIMES! Thank you Shane!

I’ve been watching this every year since the 90s. I’m 41 now. This had me rollerblading like crazy in Detroit. Good times.
Me too! There were 9 of us in my neighborhood and we played every day afterschool, when we saw this movie we decided to rollerblade and play street hockey. We always played against one kid (Tim) because he was a tad old we than us and was a lot taller than the rest of us. He didn’t mind going against all of us every week, he seemed to enjoy being the “bad guy”. Was the best time as a kid that I can remember.
This podcast deserves more views!! Been watching for the last year and enjoyed the selections. It's awesome to see that yall are doing interviews with cast now too. Please keep it up and I doubt yall have seen it but Grind (the skateboard movie) would be a great review!

'Airborne' was one of my favorite movies as a kid, as I would've been 7 or 8 when it came out in '93. It was actually a major influence for me to get into aggressive inline skating too.

This was lovely to watch. Was so nice to see Shane after all these years and listen to his stories. Great stuff!! 31 years tho...jeez! I live in the UK and not many people know this film. I came across it on tv when I was a kid and loved it ever since, even have the dvd. I was 8 in 1993 ❤ so it's weird thinking how old everyone else is now.
We worked with him some years back and bought a number of his paintings. He's quite good., especially the florals.
I moved to Cincinnati from california last year. I was most excited to see the filming locations. Went to Wiley’s house and Pompilio’s. Then I ended up working on floors at a house around the block from Wiley’s house. Very surreal.
I just had family photos taken at Eden Park, where that indoor nature preserve building is. Also surreal.

One of those movies that I used to watch every time it was on as a kid yet mention it to other people and they've never heard of it. Just finished watching it again and it's just as good now as it was then.

I still have this movie. I watched it about 4 months ago, and I still like it. Even as just some nostalgia ride to take myself on, I still get a lot of enjoyment from this movie. It's nuts to see Shane with as much grey in his beard as I have since the only prior frame of reference was him in his teens. Great podcast.
Agree. We had a hard time rating the movie with a modern day eye because of how hard the nostalgia was hitting (not sure if you watched our full movie review episode)

Just watched Airborne again. This movie is so under rated
that it's no wonder why it has become a cult classic. Shane was great and his chemistry with Brittany was so convincing. I really enjoyed the scene where they visit the botanical gardens and Shane starts skating through there! Definitely a feel good movie 👍😊
I saw that movie SO many times when I was young. Led to me spending a lot of time at a local college rollerblading the sidewalks, streets, etc. There was a time I was going down this one very steep road next to the college and a wheel fell off. I just adjusted my weight and kept going.
A movie probably responsible for the fact that I became kind of an adrenaline junky. Skydiving, jumping off random bridges in Ukraine, etc.

Memories!! I had no idea he was in Real Estate in Galveston. Right around my corner. When me and the wife buy our next home, I'm gonna give him a ring. I forgot about this movie, but then I kept seeing it on my X feed and now I know why. It's catching back on.

Just saw this classic 90’s movie last night. I remember the Burger King Kids club promoting the hell out of this movie. Still a great movie. Brings back great memories of being a 90’s kid
