I loved The Plimsouls in the 80's and still love them now!! What memories! Thanks for posting... I went to hundreds of shows from 1981 to when they split up and I am still following Peter Case in his solo career.
WOW.....This rocks !!!!!! The performance of "A Million Miles Away" live is just amazing! Classic Plimsouls....at their very best! Go Peter Case....you have heaps of passion and fervour!!!
So much music in the world.........but kids, you know because you've already been here........The Plimsouls are at the top of the list!!! This is still some of the best Rock N Roll on the planet!! Plimsouls FOREVER!!
Awesome!! A truly great band that is even better live. Check out "One Night in America", a live disc recorded back around '83 or so. It'll blow your mind.
Good times at Perkins Palace! (Now converted to condos, thanks for nothing Pasadena Historical Society). This is just an example of how great Case and The Plimsouls were. Another band that probably would've made it big today but couldn't get beyond KROQ, college radio and the few other stations around the country back then that were cool enough and had the nads to play bands off the designated top-40 schlock lists. Sad so many great bands are knows to so few, but such was the sad state of radio.
Holy crap, this is unbelievable! Where did you get this? I agree with the others, all three video posts are superb. Great quality. The 'Souls were so underrated. Would be great if this was available on DVD or audio CD.
I went to the Totally Tubular Festival & realized something: MTV is bad for Music - if you don't have a great VIDEO, Your Band is going to be playing in clubs forever or broken down. That's what MTV did 'for' 🎼. If they don't like it, I'm not going to see it‽ Great. They made a lot of good Artists/Bands into a lot of '1 Hit Wonders' w/some exceptions: T4F were/are good & a few more from 'then'. That TTF thing was actually pretty good. Tom Bailey w/a great Band did the Thompson Twins' Songs & more very well, some other Acts were glad to hear that applause once again now - vs not at all forever. That's MTV. That's Programming at you.
A great live clip from the band that should've ruled rock radio in the 1980s. Finally got to see them two years ago and I was not disappointed.
The past is a million miles away--Case spells it out perfectly on this one and the Plimsouls play it like the whole world was watching!
A piece of history. Good, good, good post.

I first head them on Repo Man and was hooked. Have got all my Pete Case solo albums too...have worn out a copy of "Six Pack of Love"

Greatly under appreciated band
If the Byrds were together in 1983 they'd sound like this. "Inch By Inch" a Plimsouls masterpiece..just incredible
@crapple009 Clem didn't play with the 'Souls until late 90s. That's Lou Ramirez, the Plimsouls original drummer.
FANTASTIC!!
@ 2:46 = A Million Miles Away
Great performance btw, lots of heart and energy but too bad that's lacking in most musicians today.
Every band should have at least one left-handed guitarist. Proof positive that the 80s WASN'T all cheesy synth-pop and hair bands.
Thanks for posting this, takes me back.
Quality footage...thanks for posting

ALWAYS A FAV
OMFG...... you truely are superman for posting this.... wow
Sure looks/sounds like PWesterberg in the first tune...I wonder if they ever crossed paths with the Replacements?
Sick ass hell band back when I was in high school..dback
Was Clem Burke pounding the skins at that show?
