I saw them both times they played there. They played again in '83. Then they plated at our Santa Clarita Brewing Co around '89 or '90. That was the last time I saw them.
Saw them at Cerritos College during a free lunchtime concert in 1980 and then at Whiskey in 1981. Pete was dancing on table tops. Wish we still had this music. Local boys made it big.
I discovered the Plimsouls in "Valley Girl" in 1983......and never looked back! Love this band! Their music has passion, catchy riffs and lots of appeal !! They should have been huge worldwide!!
@godzillasbutt Nope, nope and yet again, NOPE. This is the Central, a club that was just down the street on the left side of Sunset before you get to to the Whisky. Known now as the Viper Room, the Central was more "working class"as opposed to yet another record label showcase..good solid rock n' roll n' good beverages and one legendary Jam Night that would strip the skin off your sack and leave you in music Heaven for at least a week. An excellent little dive that I miss to this day.
i wonder when this was. clearly they hadn't completed 'oldest story in the world yet', as the lyrics are well different than the final version. he was still working on the harmonica solo too.
Thanks for sharing this. I love Peter Case and, the Plimsouls were awesome. I wish I had been able to see them live when I was a teen.
priceless rare live video of plimsouls...thank you
First show I ever saw, Plimsouls at Magic Mountain, May 1982 . . . And there's nothing left to bring me back today

Oh, my, did these guys seriously rock!
Ha,the Central!. A guitar player friend and me used to go to jam nights there in the mid 80's. Got to play with two members of the Byrds.
