The camera looks great in the beginning low-light conditions Hugh! Did you use any noise reduction settings in camera or post-production?
The camera shoot at native iso 3200 - with Canon new dual gain sensors from R5 II. It supposed to have great low light performance out of the box :) This is a run and gun production (on one paying me to do it) so it is with minimal post production

I will need to work on it when I have my production unit which I do not have it yet and I return the pre-production - so basically I do not have the. camera lol.

Great report, Hugh. I have to say though that these are the same experiences and generalized tech that have been repeated year after year at SIGGRAPH. The mocap guy with sticks is a poster child for the same thing from Vicon, etc, and the 360 camera is straight out of 2015. The whole field of 360 video (mono as here or computational stereo in the case of now defunct Jaunt) struggles where 180 prospers. No one spends much time swinging the camera round to see what's "behind"
Thank you! Oh I have not been to Vidcon so when I see that real time mocap with that kinda of accuracy, I am stoked. But prob because I have no idea what is good mocap as that is not my industry. I am easily amazed lol. The 360 camera is pretty new tho and it packed a punch - 1.1G resolution with 32-stop dynamic range and fully HDR render and can measure light is pretty impressive. Great for G-Splat and scene reconstruction - which is still pretty hot right now. Better G-splat basically require better and faster camera. The polygon streaming is mindblowing. I tho the Apple Vision Pro 3D demo is good then this HTC demo blow my mind. 3D in AR is getting scary good so fast and in SIGGRAPH they did push the boundary. But I did not cover lots of other thing - like the SONY new headset is there again which I covered it at AWE and other things they are repeated on other conferences - so you are absolutely correct.
would be nice to see some real world examples of the 3d reconstructions the guy from spheron 1GPix cam was talking about

Me and many people with different gears ran into this issue recently. When we upload 4k (R7) or 8k videos to TH-cam, it ALWAYS says "processing abandoned". How did you avoid this issue? Thanks a lot!

Is the camera we see you holding in the right at the end of the video the ucoming new Calf one?
Did I hear correctly that the video resolution is 12 Megapixels? So only a bit better than 4K?
It is 12 Megapixels x 32 camera I believe (or how many cameras in the final production unit). So each little camera is 12 - so the combine is still huge in size

50K lolz. Geez i hope the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive is gonna be cheaper. Do you know any insider knowledge on it Hugh?🙂 Looking forward to your videoes on it.
Probably around the price if not more as that’s a 16K video camera. But I don’t have any information I can share yet on Cine Immersive. I hope soon tho.
