Van, I always wondered why I hated church with a passion as a kid and you put it perfectly with your impersonation. I could have seen myself getting a lot more involved had it been with a pastor like this. I never cared for singing, but it does seem like if you let loose like black churches it must be quite the experience. Letting go is something a lot of people do not do.
From the moment you get to the door of those holy filled churches, you feel the spirit flowing right through you. It’s addictive. There is no other feeling like being in a church filled with those who are connected to their creator. Gives me chills just thinking about it. I grew up southern baptist. And yea, they would get loud and shout and you would definitely stay on your toes. But when I’d go to my best friends church right up the road (it was a mostly black church)… words could never describe it. The church was never meant to be a place. It was always meant to be the body.. the people. Those who have put the place over the people do not have good intentions. When the church is alive, it flows through every person there. You should most definitely experience a spirit filled church. I think this country wouldn’t be in the state it’s in now if more of us were filled up with the Holy Spirit.

Amen. I couldn't agree with you more. I'm 56 yrs old. And white. I grew up in Arkansas during the 70's - 80's I'm a 67 model. In my youth during Arkansas I never new racism. Where I lived in Arkansas it was 25 ' 30 years behind times. Everyone was poor. So early in life I learned no matter what color our skin was we all need God, air, water, and food to live. We all want a roof over our head. And we all need love. I never once said I had a black friend or a Mexican friend or a Vietnamese friend. I referred to them simply as my friend. Or my neighbors. And if talking to an adult it was always sir or ma'am. Race and color had no recognition. I didn't experience racism until I moved to Dallas tx while still a young teenager. I can tell you I've learned more about than I ever wanted to. And it's from all sides. Racism is alive in all races. Now this is the United States of America. And as a nation we need an America 1st mindset. These illegal invaders are like a plague of locust they will devour every resource America has. And then like locust leave nothing and move on and destroy another country.

I was raised Baptist. When I was a teen, I visited a Jesus Name Pentecostal church with my boyfriend. We arrived early, before other people but a few were praying at the altar. And I’m not kidding when I tell you…when I walked one step through the door, a warm liquid feeling drenched over me. Started at the crown of my head and gently draped down over my body to my legs and feet. It made me shiver. At the EXACT SAME TIME, a sweet scented perfume surrounded me and immediately bro’t tears to my eyes. My boyfriend described the same exact occurrence. I was raised in church, but I never EVER experienced anything like this before. My boyfriend and I eventually became members; were baptized in Jesus Name and filled with the Holy Ghost. Yesterday we celebrated our 52nd wedding anniversary. God richly bless this pastor and this young man bringing us truth. ✨🙏🏻🇺🇸✨

This speaks volumes beyond the history books. This is the voice of soul! A man’s heart genuinely led by God, and a testimony to true black America. I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s with prejudice and hate filled hearts leading misguided flocks. It took most of my life to see through the dark and dirty clouds of racism, but now, “I” am free of it. I cannot put into words how powerful that was to me. Hearing that from a Christian leader from a biblical perspective was what I needed to hear. Him speaking into a church of black people who are having lies shoved down their throats and have them truly listen to someone they trust and respect really moved me. It's so easy to get brought down every day by what's happening to our country but moments like this fill me back up with hope and reminder to trust the Lord above all else.

Singing is good for the lungs, we had a Pastor that could have been singing Opera also helped enjoy singing.

There is no other feeling like being in a church filled with those who are connected to their creator. Gives me chills just thinking about it. I grew up southern baptist. And yea, they would get loud and shout and you would definitely stay on your toes. But when I’d go to my best friends church right up the road (it was a mostly black church)… words could never describe it. The church was never meant to be a place. It was always meant to be the body.. the people. Those who have put the place over the people do not have good intentions. When the church is alive, it flows through every person there. You should most definitely experience a spirit filled church. I think this country wouldn’t be in the state it’s in now if more of us were filled up with the Holy Spirit.

I'm 56 yrs old. And white. I grew up in Arkansas during the 70's - 80's I'm a 67 model.
In my youth during Arkansas I never new racism. Where I lived in Arkansas it was 25 ' 30 years behind times. Everyone was poor. So early in life I learned no matter what color our skin was we all need God, air, water, and food to live. We all want a roof over our head. And we all need love. I never once said I had a black friend or a Mexican friend or a Vietnamese friend. I referred to them simply as my friend. Or my neighbors. And if talking to an adult it was always sir or ma'am. Race and color had no recognition. I didn't experience racism until I moved to Dallas tx while still a young teenager. I can tell you I've learned more about than I ever wanted to. And it's from all sides. Racism is alive in all races. Now this is the United States of America. And as a nation we need an America 1st mindset. These illegal invaders are like a plague of locust they will devour every resource America has. And then like locust leave nothing and move on and destroy another country.

I was raised Baptist. When I was a teen, I visited a Jesus Name Pentecostal church with my boyfriend. We arrived early, before other people but a few were praying at the altar. And I’m not kidding when I tell you…when I walked one step through the door, a warm liquid feeling drenched over me. Started at the crown of my head and gently draped down over my body to my legs and feet. It made me shiver. At the EXACT SAME TIME, a sweet scented perfume surrounded me and immediately bro’t tears to my eyes. My boyfriend described the same exact occurrence. I was raised in church, but I never EVER experienced anything like this before. My boyfriend and I eventually became members; were baptized in Jesus Name and filled with the Holy Ghost. This speaks volumes beyond the history books. This is the voice of soul! A man’s heart genuinely led by God, and a testimony to true black America. I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s with prejudice and hate filled hearts leading misguided flocks. It took most of my life to see through the dark and dirty clouds of racism, but now, “I” am free of it. Credit goes to our Lord Jesus Christ and his promise of salvation. We need more Pastors like this in our Churches throughout America. ❤
I cannot put into words how powerful that was to me. Hearing that from a Christian leader from a biblical perspective was what I needed to hear. Him speaking into a church of black people who are having lies shoved down their throats and have them truly listen to someone they trust and respect really moved me. It's so easy to get brought down every day by what's happening to our country but moments like this fill me back up with hope and reminder to trust the Lord above all else.
