Grew up in California during the Reagan days but I got sucked in by Clinton's Rock The Vote and then voted for Obama's first term too. By Os 2nd term I registered non-affiliated. Wasn't until Trump that I felt real change was actually possible.
Same here! I am a 59 year old white woman, grew up in Georgia, and my father, freshly home from Vietnam in 1971, came back to his little hometown and got involved in local politics as a Republican. Everyone thought he was crazy, they all believed Democrats are for the little guy, etc...but he tried and tried to talk sense into people. Carter was Governor of Georgia then and I distinctly remember the night he was elected Governor, both my parents had campaigned against him, my mother sat in the middle of our living room floor and cried. Then Carter was elected President and all his friends became Republicans.

Great posts! I was raised by a single mother, 60/40 split Native/Hispanic. My mother NEVER talked about politics growing up. Religion was a different story. She did tell me, go to the library, and learn about world history first, then politics. She said to use my relationship with Jesus as the base. Thank God I have NEVER been a Democrat. 58 years later, I pray everyday things will change in November. Orherwise I am ready for the rapture. The rise and fall of all empires can be contributed to the same issues, not solely, but major factors. Social, Cultural, and IMMORAL issues. Save 🇺🇸

I love them but their language is a bit salty for me.
I am white. As a kid, I was taught that Republicans are for the rich and Democrats are for poor and regular folks.
As a lifelong Democrat, I am not quite ready to be a Republican. However, I have changed my voter registration from Democrat to unaffiliated. I will also be giving ALOT more thought to who I vote for in the future and not just vote based on party.
The only reason I will not vote for any MAGA candidate is because of January 6th and all the fake votes mumbo jumbo.
I wish both sides had better candidates.
I now know that Mike Pence is a Republican, which is different than MAGA.

Amazing testimony! As a Latino person, people always told me colored people only vote democrat. I was raised to work hard, belive in God, treat people with love and respect. I was 18 voted democrat once. Once I started learning how democrats founded the KKK, and other racist organizations i was floored. In my job working democrats always said I was lucky to get where I was because of the color of my skin. Not my hard work, college, doing interviews etc...I was treated differently because I thought differently from people like me. Once I learned what conservative stood for,I voted red. Love your country respect people, love God, and hard work. All these gifts God gave us. Will pray for you to know the truth, and find it like I did. Conservative for life.

I'm ashamed to admit that when I found Romney made sense I picked a third party candidate because he was a Mormon. Raised by parents that were democrats in an area where just about everyone was also democrat, I of course was a democrat. Then in my late 20’s while working I started thinking differently. I remember thinking we had been taught how wonderful government everything is and yet my taxes go up. Government supposedly solves problems and yet my taxes increase… this didn’t make sense. If government solves problems then taxes should go down. That was the first crack in my armor.
A few years later I stumbled across a book called The Virtue of Selfishness. In that book there is a chapter on The Nature of Government. Once I read that my life changed totally.
Mine was years ago....Millions spent on campaigns to get a job that paid a pittance of what it cost to get it......why was that? Then it just ALL MADE SENSE! Go in without 2 nickels to rub together n BAM Multi-Millionaire! :) :) And Im supposed to believe YOU ARE A GOOD PERSON! ooooo kay! :) :) lol

I was born conservative. My parents didn’t talk about politics but I grew up in a Roman Catholic Church. Never once have I have ever voted Dem. I don’t agree with anything that they want you to believe.

Most people that didn't follow Trump or watched various political commentaries(sp), weren't really aware that when he attacked someone it was because they attacked him first. They expected that since he turned Republican he was just going to "turn the other cheek or take the high road" like most of us were taught since young. Boy were they wrong.
Also, the man was a genius, he got people that didn't get politics talking about things going on, policies in place and he didn't even have to pay for ads, since he would say something "different " and the media would go seeee orange man bad. I'm a 67 year old man, I was blessed to be raised in a family that was mostly democratic, but no one was prejudice. We had black kids in our school some were in sports some were not. I can remember back when our team would win there was always a celebration at my family's house, the team came to the celebration white kids and black kids. Everyone was treated like family. My parents raised me to respect everyone no matter their skin color. Dmocrats were supposed to be for the working class, I don't think my parents knew the whole history of what they truly stood for or they would probably voted republican. It's ashamed how true history is hidden from a lot of people.

I grew up in the rural Midwest and we were raised Democrat. We were what most people now call “Blue Dogs”. We were prolife, fiscal responsibile, constitutionalist. When I grew up, I didn’t leave the Democratic Party, it left me.

That's where a lot of us came from. We saw the violence and aggression coming from one side and started digging.
The real ones stand when it's time to stand. The fake ones bend and go along with the ideas being forced on them. Right and left, the "sides" have drastically changed the last 8 years or so. I asked my buddy at work why he votes Democrat when he doesn't believe in any of the Party's policies. I presented him with a bunch of policies based on how he actually lives his life and he agreed with every one of them. I told them those were Republican or Libertarian platform policies. His response was "I just can't vote that way". It makes no sense at all.

I’m a 66 yr old white woman in central Mississippi that has lived here for 27 years. I have lived in the city all my life from west coast to pa, from north Idaho to tx, but the first month s I moved here, I had a black Woman get in my face and curse me. It was the most vile and disgusting rant I have ever heard just because I was in her way. And I get this type of disrespect all the time from young black people . Is there racism , yes but it is blacks against white. When I encounter this behavior I just walk away.

Van my brother, it all started because your open mind was willing and able to handle truth. I have spoken to so many people that had closed minds and it was obvious I was talking to the wall. The saying "we are supposed to get older and wiser, some are just getting old", fits so well in these situations.
I've always been more neutral than anything, and I typically vote for who I think will do the best job. I voted for Bill twice in the 90's, I voted for Bush, Obama the first time, Trump both times, and it was right around that time I started to see how much the Left had changed from what I knew of the party. In current times they're more radical now than they've ever been. Then you start doing research on both party's going back over a hundred years and your eyes start to open. Been following The Hodgetwins for a few years now, they're funny and pull no punches.
Trump really exposed the truth behind the career politicians for everyone to see. Now the liars don't even TRY to hide their corruption anymore.
We really have to thank Trump for that.
You started off right...but you neglect to mention how conservatives hijacked the Republican Party in the 1980s. They turned a lot of people off. Before the 1980s there were plenty of Republicans that weren't Christian or religious. It didn't matter like it does now. Now, Christianity and "conservative" is synonymous with Republican and that wasn't supposed to happen. Before the 1980s...you ccould still be socially moderate but be fiscally conservative. That's what appealed to Republicans in the first place. They didn't care so much about people's religious beliefs...as long as you were on the same page when it came to fiscal conservatism.

As a black man that served this country in the US Army, a child of a father that served 22 yrs in the US Army, and a Grandfather that fought in the KOREAN war…I can say I was misled by my own community as it pertains to the Democratic Party. At 42 I’m a full blown MAGA supporter and proud of it!!
I’m Hispanic raised by a single Dem. Mother. At a young age I asked my mom why the government was given people money she said they need help. Years later I asked why the government won’t stop giving people money and she said they always need help. I asked her why doesn’t the government teach them to help themselves, she had no answer. As a young adult all I saw from the Dems was more and more enabling and control. I’ve know I was conservative in my opinions but it wasn’t until CA gov. Took my freedoms (plandemic) and like some inmates I had time to educate myself so I did research. My research led me to the fact that planned parenthood was founded by Margret Sanger a kkk member and that over 400,000 black babies have been aborted I sobbed for the genocide. I learned that in fact it was the Dems pushing abortions, the Dems that wanted to keep slavery, the Dems that are defunding law enforcement, the Dems that encourage illegal immigration, the Dems that want to give my hard earned money to people who won’t work, the Dems that won’t punish criminals, the Dems who want to buy an ev car that does more damage to our environment than a gas powered car, the Dems who want me to pay for slaves I never owned, the Dems who use my money to by needles for drug users, the Dems who want to mutilate children, the Dems who want to make pedophila legal, the Dems who encourage gender disforia (and more) all the while the Republicans do nothing to stop them. Two sides to the same corrupt coin in my humble opinion.
The rinos have to be voted out of office the same as the demonrats. Once an America first majority is in office things will get better

I was a Democrat until I watched the HodgeTwins too. Came up on the feed because I was watching comedy skits, not political stuff. Then I heard what they were saying about politics and they were funny but speaking truth and facts, and asking questions that made me think and go look stuff up for myself. They opened my eyes. I was taught the same as many black communities have been, because my family was poor. I think a lot of the poor have been told the Dems are for them. But as we see, they are NOT. I’m a 56 year old white man and have always been a conservative. I have life long black and white friends who are all conservatives. I have no liberal friends because they’re hateful and I can’t trust them based on their actions. Thank you for being a good man who judges people based on the character.

The dems seem to say the right things, their records tell another story. I'm independent, both parties are totally corrupt so I won't claim either. We all grow as people. I was a hard-core Democrat until 2020 when covid was first brought up. As I was paying attention, I saw how the media started changing language and targeting Trump. My daughter had gotten swine flu back when Obama was president, and I saw how differently the media treated Obama and Trump for basically the exact same situation.

I grew up the same way: "Democrats are for the people, Republicans are for the corporations".
I woke up in 2004 when I realized that I hated George Bush and I didn't even know why. I then started paying more attention, and realized that I hated him simply because I was told to by the media. Now, I still hate Bush, but at least I know why, and it wasn't for the reasons that I was told why I should hate him. Once I opened my eyes and stopped being ignorant of politics, I learned that I was MUCH more aligned with Republicans than I ever was with Democrats - but not ALL Republicans.
It is about the individual, not so much collective party. Republicans like McConnel, Graham, Bush, ect... are no different than Pelosi, Schumer, Biden.... all establishment.
Meanwhile individuals like Gabbard, Yang, Paul, DeSantis, Trump.... non-establishment types to some degree... or at least not playing the game of the establishment... all become demonized by the establishment.
But Democrats seem to have a special place in the establishment. There is a saying; "When Republicans win elections, they are in office. When Democrats win elections, they are in power." If Democrats are for the "poor", then there is no incentive to have their voters become anything other than poor, while enriching their donor base. Currently the Democrats receive the most donations from corporations than the Republicans do and the vast majority of top 100 corporations align themselves to Democrats. So much for being the party of the people.
Bush was a Neo-Con, so was his whole group. Back before Nixon, the Neo-Cons were Democratic Socialists. Democratic Socialism is just National Socialism with better PR.

I also voted for Obama twice. I regretted is after his response to the Michael Brown shooting. I lived in the St. Louis area back then and knew the truth. After that I started researching and became a Republican.

When I was growing up, there would be no way in hell I would allow someone to tell me what I can and cannot wear. As a metal head, I can recall how many times a teacher, principal, or someone with authority telling me my metal shirt was offensive and I would tell them to f off. They weren't brave enough to try and force me. They knew better. I am still like this today. Nobody will tell me what to wear.

I started watching the hodge twins a few years ago and they have always been funny and they are smart. I started watching you when we were locked down and I discovered reaction videos. I have been so impressed with you because you want to learn and understand. I don’t hate all democrats and do not love all republicans but am conservative because we worked for what we had (my husband has passed) and unless someone is unable physically or mentally I don’t want to pay for them. I really hate what kids are being taught in school now. Kids should not be sexualized and they should be proficient in all the basics at grade level at the end of each year. Americans first and quit spending on the useless pork.

I was raised in a conservative household. Had a bit of rebellion in my early teen years and wanted to be Democrat because of school. But ultimately got turned off by their hypocrisy, and lies. To me the conservatives always seemed to be more genuinely inclusive and the liberals just pretended to be.

My wife is literally STUCK in the BLUE thinking trench that has been destroying our relationship. Shortly after we got married, and 44 ran, she became SO entrenched in him, but I couldn’t understand why the more I listened to him, and why she, and he thought the way they do. Even after showing her the FACTS like you shared of who the KayKayKay was created by etc., ,the didn’t help her. She felt hook, line and sinker for 46’s rhetoric and why he picked her for VP, plus because they’re in the same sorority…wow. My pain in all this is sad. Thanks for listening.
