- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and American troops hold combined field artillery live fire exercises at the Colonel Ernesto Rabina Air Base in Tarlac on Friday, April 14. These are part of the annual Balikatan exercises jointly conducted by the Philippine and American military.

This kind of training is a must for our PH soldiers to be at par for future advanced weaponries and interoperability in the future combat.

That is correct, the best thing about balikatan is the US trains us on everything modern tactics and we train them on everything jungle tactics. It’s always a win for both side

The AFP SOCOM seriously needs to purchase those JLTVs for spec ops; they only need several dozen of those things so our spec ops units like LRR and Scout Rangers can do their jobs safely.
What happens?
JLTVs still too heavy for the mud roads of your usual liblib na barangay. What SOCOM needs are a lot more helicopters for Air Assault missions and insertions.
@@Ryan_Christopher True; however, these toys will be helpful for medevac and patrols, and keep in mind that the AFP's doctrine is changing. We'll be battling in cities in 5 to 10 years from now , and these toys will be quite valuable for fighting behind enemy lines. And fighting in Liblib na barangay will soon be over.

This would be interesting if the T129 is present and let's see the comparison vs the Apache.
Apache is better than T129, but T129 is still have decent firepower.
The Apache is a heavier attack helicopter. The T129 is comparable to the Viper.
@@paimonisfood4986 That's right and the Chinese Z10 is a copy,so it would be wise to see if the claim that the T129 is much faster and agile in combat is true.But I just read from Maxdefense that two of them are engaged against the NPAs in real combat and judging from a video taken by a civilian its just using its guns not rockets.
No, it is premature to mix-in the T129s. The PAF doesn’t even have seasoned Air Liaison Officers to direct helicopter fires. That is why there’s a PAF Lieutenant there getting trained on the range finders practicing fire controls while the US Army expends ordnance from the Apaches. Those helo crews know how to lay-down fires at the direction of the ALO. If they miss and waste ammo, it will be because the ALO gave the wrong coordinates. That’s the sort of feedback the PAF cannot afford to pay for at this time.
@@Ryan_Christopher The Philippines has been operating MD520 in attack helicopter mode,they do have Air Liaison Officers.Nevertheless i'm more interested if the claim of Turkish and Euro pilots that the Turkish version of T129 is more agile and speedier in battlefield scenario than the Chinese Z10 and Apache.The PAF is already eyeing the heavier T929 for its future heavy attack helicopter.

This is not just to prepare the Filipino soldiers but the American soldiers as well. If the American soldiers are not familiar with the Phillipine Archipelago, climate, landscape and it's dangers. How can they help defend it? And this is what these exercises are all about. Isn't it one of the reasons why the Americans lost in the Vietnam war? Because the Vietnamese had home court advantage and knew how to work the jungles to attack or defend. God Bless the Philippines and the soldiers that are ready to defend it!
