MBT will be insanely hard to move rapidly around islands and will struggle to maneuver on rocky, muddy, thick jungles and uneven terrain of the Philippines. Furthermore, Philippines is not expecting ground combat from external threats. Most likelihood of war will be fought mainly in the skies and seas. Also, we already have light Sabrah tanks to handle counter insurgency.
