    Apple usually uses every nooks and crannies in the iPhones , why not fill the sim slot with something… Next year 😂

      i think it’s because some models still have the sim tray

    Hmm with the design being as it is right now for the 14, is it going to damage the phone if I replace the screen, without first detaching the battery cable (which is located by disassembling the back glass). Because from what I know we always had to detach the battery cable before detaching the screen

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would assume it would be fine to just disconnect the screen without disconnecting the battery cable as well. I can't say for sure since with iphones usually that would pose an issue but I would think they thought that one through when making this design.

    • @huyhuynh4425
      @huyhuynh4425 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hahah I think so too. Would be stupid if I just disconnect the front screen and then the entire thing is just going to brick itself when connecting with a new screen is it

    • @thatdude5104
      @thatdude5104 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The issue you're referring to started from the iPhone 6S and up, generally it would simply be better to first disconnected the battery, but with the phone turned off you wouldnt have any problems disconnecting the screen with the battery still connected. Just dont accidentally power up the phone during the repair.

    New internal design for iphone after 10+ years wow....why don't you unplug battery first? You risk bootloop this way

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm pretty sure they took that into consideration when making this design so you probably wouldn't have to disconnect the battery as well, but yes its always safer. However the way its designed I'm sure is for ease of screen replacement, so if you need to also take the back off to disconnect the battery then they would have left the design like how it was before. :)

    People said this makes the 14 harder to repair but this looks easier? If you need to do a screen swap you still can the same way but if you need to repair anything else you just take the back off and don't risk damaging an unbroken display. Seems easier for self repair to me.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yeah, I think its easier as well. Better design, but now they need to think of a way to make it with less screws.

    Che cambiamento su questo iPhone 14, mi piace. Semplice sostituire il display è finalmente si può entrare dal vetro posteriore per tutto il resto. Mi piace veramente tanto, ottimo cambiamento che doveva essere anche su tutte le versioni. Scusa la porta è di tipo C?

    Not upgrading or interested in another new iPhone... as any repair or components failure on Apple iPhone you need to go back to Apple Store as inside iPhone has many anti-repair moles. The anti-repair moles will popup if you repair it with third-party repair shop even using genuine Apple parts. If your iPhone is under warranty, is free repair back to working status by Apple but if your warranty is over you need to pay a very dear repair cost e.g. recently, I sent my iPhone 14 back to Apple store for screen replacement (Sudden Rainbow Screen defect) it caused me more than USD 300 and it only warranty for 3 months and the damaged screen wouldn't be returned back to me as they said it is Apple policy which let me thinking. The third-party repair costed me just over USD 50 with original screen returned back to me but anti-repair moles popup like the annoying warning in setting "Display Not Recognized" that I have to live with it and True-Tone disappeared from setting. In view of all these anti-repairs and forcefully need to be repair by Apple Store, well, this will be my last iPhone I will be using or buying not unless Apple remove all these unethical anti-repair moles. It gave, me a bad feeling like eating an apple with worms inside. So, "NO ONE OWN ANY IPHONE ACCEPT APPLE; YOU ONLY PURCHASED THE RIGHT TO USE IT UNTIL BROKEN OR COMPONENTS FAILURE", remember that!

    It would be interesting to see if a simcard slot could be connected to the motherboard instead of that filler plastic. I know the 14 pro/pro max have the simcard slot solderd to the motherboard, but on 14/14 max it seems to have it on a flex cable. Also I understand that the mid frame will need to be changed for this to work.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would think it would be attached to that flex cable which runs down to the other components, so the entire flex cable assemble for the bottom would need to be replaced to one which has the sim slot, or might have some solder points for a different flex cable under the stickers. Not sure.

      People have been modifying international iPhone's with the Chinese-model dual nano-SIM tray for a while. With the US iPhone 14, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible, of course a complete housing replacement would make it easier.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      For the front, since there are also screws holding it down, its not a necessity but the adhesive helps prevent water or debris from getting in. As for the back, it would be recommended to apply new adhesive to prevent the back cover from coming off.
