20:27 The ProTek "Premier Blue" works fantastic! I started with their syringe and ultimately bought the jar. I use it a lot. The jar should last a lifetime if you build lots of kits, as I do.

I never owned an RC10 Graphite. But I'm hoping they re re the RC10L. Never owned one of those TBH but I did have Bolinks and LYNX pan cars and always wanted the RC10L. The simplicity was amazing! My first car was a RC10 6016 Team Kit that i got when I was 14 and i got a YZ10 when I was 16. I still have about 90% of the original YZ. Im going to get both for sure.

I'm building the 870c now, working on the shocks, and this has been a superb reference. Merci buckets! It's super easy to rush through a step and have to go back to figure out what I done wrong.
Things I've noticed, definitely watch the loctite on the kingpins, or you gonna have a bad time. I crushed both sway bar retaining clips putting the top on the rear diff mount, and then noticed the rear bulkhead got dinged. The cast aluminum is pretty fragile and I snapped off a corner to fit the sway bar trying to fix it. Oops. The right tool, indeed, should have just filed the channel. And those e-clips. I may never get the shock pistons built :D

For the rear sway bar collars use some small RC airplane gear collars.

What are your thoughts on running these cars on dirt with the gear diffs? That's my intention so I'm torn between buying a new one with gear diffs vs buying a used with the ball diffs.

If you're out driving for fun, I think you'll be fine with the gear diffs. Maybe go with a lighter viscosity diff fluid for better rotation around the corners. For racing, you want a ball diff on the dirt. On low grip surfaces, the ball diff is quickly adjustable for light, precise resistance and doesn't lock up like a gear diff. It can better handle variable loose terrain. There's a lot of tuning to do with the YZ if you're going vintage racing, so if you find someone selling a car that's already been setup that could be a good option. Otherwise, you'll be starting at ground zero with the YZ-10 kit. By the way, the Works '91 just went on pre-order. It's got a few upgrades from the YZ-10 kit. There's also a rumor about a Works '93 release later in 2025. I may hold out for that one...

If someone wanted to go full carbon fiber and RC10 shocks from the onset, would it be cheaper to buy things separately instead of getting one of the new kits?

If you are just doing shocks and carbon fiber, I think the kit is still a cost-effective platform to start with. The idea of purchasing every last component individually seems daunting to me. Having said that, if you keep going with upgrades like arms, hub carriers, bulkheads, etc. at some point the kit may not make sense. Have you seen the Trickbits YZ10R? It's a non-licensed race ready version with upgrades on almost every part. It's offered by a private individual out of the UK. I'm not sure what the current availability is.

Word on the street is Yokomo is releasing a Super Dog Fighter Works 91 soon (yet this year?) This should be a better starting point for building a performance YZ than the previously released YZ-10 kit. However, it's expected that a Works 94 will follow sometime in 2025. Could be a while.
