      UGH! That's WONDERFUL. I'm so happy it feels like that. I have kind of been contemplating set design for my videos to make it seem like we are all sitting on the floor of my boudoir together, drinking champagne (or nonalcoholic sparking bubbly for the younger ones) and eating chocolates.

    It wasn’t until I acknowledged my own neediness, my desperate energy, that I was truly able to begin to detach. This, coupled with the epiphany that self love is not optional, but required, has brought me on a path of realization after realization about myself. And I have felt immensely more confident ever since (sans the ebbs between flows, which are inevitable, are not enough to undo my progress.)

    I first heard "we write to taste life twice" in Phoebe Waller Bridge's interview of 73 Questions with Vogue. So cool to hear you read it out in this video. I've never read Anaïs Nin but I feel compelled to now.

    Every video you make is so valuable!! Please don’t ever leave TH-cam-there’s no one like you making the content you do. I think this may be my most favorite video of yours. I feel like I have made my own world. I live my life very differently and it can be lonely sometimes, but I think my life is happier and richer than most people’s. Wishing you the absolute best!!

      I still struggle with self esteem. I don’t like to tell people much about myself because what I say, they judge and try to stab me with it. I’m 33, unmarried, no kids and it’s rare where I live. They treat me differently because I don’t want kids, because I live my life differently. I have a boyfriend I love and my brother is my best friend, but other than that I don’t let others into my world. I’m happy in my small world, I don’t want to invite in static. When I’m at work or out in society, my defense mechanism is I keep everything about the other person. Most people love talking about themselves, so I just listen but don’t say much about myself.

    • @HeavenSentHoney

      Definitely stand your ground. Live the way you like, for the reasons you see valid. Worst thing you can do is buckle under the pressure and betray yourself. I'm happy you have reached a place where you can be content despite the loneliness.

    I feel Marilyn Monroe, as she hit a point of not wanting to fight social norms. She tried to fit the “grown” ideal and momentarily destroyed herself only to emerge with a new found complexity.

    My life has been under reclamation after spending my vitality pursuing a career, education, and a marriage that was not right for me. Journaling and writing poetry helped me create the world I needed to live in, to experience, so that I could return to myself and reflect my inner world back to all things in my life. It essentially supports me in being the change I seek in world, as I believe the Dali Lama once said. It's a simple concept but oh so powerful, especially for artists. Thank you once again, your videos are so validating and comforting to the artists' soul.

    Your voice, your face, your ideas, your elegance and the way you talk about being strange makes me feel so much less alone and self conscious about my own personal and perpetually othered existence. I'm really happy I found your channel and thank you so much! I don't have friends my coworkers thing I'm strange and actively cast me out of the circles hahaha but regardless of it all, there is still a remarkable allure to the witch that lives on the edge of the town.

    You have discussed the creation of your own myth which rather obviously is linked to being an individual. Creating your own myth must obviously account for external perception and interface functionally. I would enjoy your thoughts on the complexity of creating myth while accounting for external assumptions [often with cultural basis] and managing the backlash of individuality. I see so many people say they are an individual and yet so few are because the backlash is severe. Now the backlash is simply aimed differently than in times before. Truly, in the USA many people believe they are individual and are very much not. There is a real price for not conforming and I am interested in your philosophical views on this point.

      @@HeavenSentHoney that's interesting and makes total sense with the cleanliness talk you mentioned in the first part of your video. Holy water being a distinct part of Catholicism and one of the elements on how it differs from Christianity. A lot of rituals regarding self purification. Cleaning yourself physically helps cement mentally spiritual cleansing

    I loved your channel, I even left a comment on one of your past videos saying I would love to be your friend, but I lost some respect for your content after you said in a video where you said that for Kim to look better dressed in Marilyn she should be naturally pale... Girl? did you hear yourself? As a woman of color myself, I couldn't wear an iconic dress in that shade why would I make it look cheap? why is that what you said with that sentence, implying that only white complexion would fit in the dress. Yes, I know it was designed just for Marilyn and Kim did disrespect the dress but not because of her color, if you look at pictures of Kim K when she was a kid, she was always tanned, that's naturally her skin color and she uses Body Oil to make herself brighter (I'm still not denying blackfishing, but kim is not naturally pale), her sentence had an internalized racism and I'm unsubscribing from your channel, I hope you review these concepts.

    • @marluceribeiro4828
      @marluceribeiro4828 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with you that that was a hurtful option, and I don't even like Kim, but to say that the dark complexion made the dress look cheap was disgusting! I wonder if she even saw the dress, as Marilyn was much paler than the fabric and didn't exactly give the effect of 100% nude (but that was part of the elegance of the piece), the girl in the video said she grew up in a European environment , we can tell where she got that kind of opinion

      @@barbie5607 When I watched this video and heard her saying that, I didn't say anything because I'm not poc but bro, I was horrified. Really, the dress didn't look good on Kim, but as stated in the comments above, the dress wasn't as white and pale fabric as Marilyn's skin, I could easily imagine Zoe Kravitz in it, she was extremely colorist saying Kim should be pale for the dress to fit more 🤮

    • @paulohe1842
      @paulohe1842 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marluceribeiro4828 thank god someone talked about it! she was a full colorist, obviously there are colors and pieces that match some complexions more than others, but to say that a darker skin tone made the dress look cheap??? who does this girl think she is? some famous white stylita? I saw videos and photos of Marilyn in the dress and it was a shade lighter than her real skin color! this girl must excuse the audience
