    This is the single most badass thing I've ever seen on a lawn care channel, plus the science behind it is very sound. There are people who want to sell a bag of "humichar" for $80+ and this is as good or likely way better. Obviously not for everyone but I love the bravery. Way to go BYD this outstanding! 👍👍👍👍

      We did this to our hay fields and it works but its also really bad, bad because the carbon is released to the atmosphere. We really need to stop doing that and start carbon farming. I could see doing this once, but I certainly would not do it every year, and I wouldn't advocate for it.

    • @wtjarrard
      @wtjarrard ปีที่แล้ว

      @@infiniteadam7352 Not every year, but periodic burns are extremely beneficial. Human interference with naturally occurring burns is one reason why we have so many invasive species of plants in previous prairie/grass/marsh lands, out of control forest fires, and the regional disappearance of native species. I'm aware a front lawn is different, but the effect of a controlled burn on the atmosphere would be minimal compared to the positive effects on nature, much less compared to the artificial pollution caused by huge industry.

    I do this annually. I hate scalping and bagging. This is so much better. Being chard the sun heats up that burnt lawn and that's energy for roots. You'll get a lawn very quickly and it will be thicker and healthier.

      So in our neighborhood which is Bermuda grass, someone carelessly threw a cigarette out of a passing car and caught my neighbor’s lawn on fire. The area that burned did come up sooner and greener the the adjacent non-burned lawn. That being said, I have not seen any carry over to this year, nor did that area that was burned look any better once it all turned green. Is it worth the risk and looking at a black burned yard for a month? Probably not. Just my opinion from what I’ve seen in this case.

      Pre Emergents and seeding should not be done together. 8-12 weeks apart. I’d only use a post emergent weed killer in weeds pop 🆙 after burning. If you haven’t applied you pre M before burning then yes apply your Pre Emergent after burn. I burn 🔥 some early winter and early spring.

      This is not burning the soil, it only burns the dead 💀 grass. It actually adds Carbon back to the soil. ( FREE BIO CHAR 80 bucks a bag ) although I would not fertilize before this.
