Hi everyone. Heres a link (Amazon affiliate) to the UART reader I use: amzn.to/3VYGPKH Also PS5 Wee Tools by Andy: github.com/andy-man/ps5-wee-tools Have fun 😉
Nice detailed walkthrough Phil. This will definitely help people new to UART to be able to diagnose and fix their consoles faster. Not to mention increase the size of our repair community and the UART database. Great work buddy!
@@TheCod3r That one is beyond hope unfortunately!!!! It met with random reflows in desperation (I know, I know). It will however help with future attempts 😎
It's all a learning curve buddy. I'm sure you'll come across one that you can fix at some point. I think I failed on my first 4 or 5 PS5s (the no power ones anyway)
Just when I wanted to procrastinate instead of doing my college project that involves designing UART receiver circuit, suddenly this video popped up 😅 Otherwise great video as always, love this kind of content.
Hello guys, the tutorial was clear and helpful. Now the questions is where do we find the NOR dumps if the existing once are corroupt !!. I am in need for a EDM-040, or CFI-2015 Model NOR File. Any help would be really appriciated. Its a PS5 Slim Digital edition.
A possible point that noone seems to have mentioned. Your black wire is connected to RTS on the uart board. I had mine connected to GND as i was comnecting it to ground! It didnt work so zoomed in to see that your black was connected to RTS and now works fine.
Please, we need an explanation like this for the nor modifier program. I followed the previous video, but you do it quickly. Please explain to us what needs to be changed in DAMP more clearly. Is there a link to download DAMP from the Internet?
I will get a video made for that. Unfortunately you can't download the dumps unless you find someone dumping them but realistically you should be obtaining your own as they are copyright protected so Sony could take sites down for sharing them
hey mate, have you ever faced this error ce-108255-1, where games stucks and shows flickering screen although on the home screen everything looks fine? thanks
There're two resistors just above the connector for the buttons. The left resistor is for the power button, and the right one (assuming it's a disc edition) is for the eject button. If you short the left resistor to ground (either top or bottom of the resistor, it doesn't matter), it will replicate a button press :)
hi, why didnt you just connect a female to female connector to the ports that were easier to connect to ? or wait a minute. didnt you have the jumpers ? what am i missing sir ?
can you please help me on this brother. im stuck with this error : Known Unknown E3122219 - Report Findings - turns off 30 mins into game play.(107 degrees)
Would it be possible to in the future put the error code (if you checked it) in the description? That way, if people search for a repair video, they find more relevant repair videos with their error code.
Lol thanks mate. I filmed this at 2am lol. I ended up filming 3 videos back to back, edited one, slept for 3 hours then ended up getting up to do work on the new shed 😅

Nice instructional, Phil. THIS really helps people help themselves :)
Nice tutorial 👌
But from that 10 pads. The top right one above the rx and tx is gnd.
You can easily solder all 3 wires next to each other. ❤️
Great video and great information on how to use uart
Cheers pops

This is a great tutorial and it should prove very handy. Imagine if Sony made these codes accessible to technicians like us!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I have a ps5 slim giving error code
8080001E. Do you know what could be faulty here?
Great video. :) 60 error logs can be stored on the nor.
Ah that's interesting. I'll look into the rest of them but I guess only the first few are important anyway
Awesome video as usual Philly
Cheers pal

Can be crashing game error CE-108255-1 tracked using UART? Thanks!
The UART is no longer listed can you recommend another?
Will pl2303 uart works?

I've been asking these you tube repair guys about this code for a year, still no one has covered it yet. Frustrating as I've seen 100s of these
How did you short the power button? would like to know as I have a spare power supply to use uart, I got an adapter too
There're two resistors just above the connector for the buttons. The left resistor is for the power button, and the right one (assuming it's a disc edition) is for the eject button.
