Good idea to do this video… When you are taking the CELTA course, you are under so much pressure that having to resubmit an assignment feels like failing ;-) but you are right; it’s not failing! Tutors are asking you to be more precise, more accurate, or to correct a specific part of your assignment ( the LRT has been the worse assignment for me !) …

It's also interesting that you point out the LRT, I can understand why it is challenging for sure and I wonder if others feel the same way.

I completed my TP1 recently and definitely need to improve eliciting (too much ttt). Writing lesson plans is definitely a challenge, but I can see it getting “a little bit” easier over time… 🤞🏼

Eliciting is certainly something worthwhile to focus on from the outset. Just remember though, not all teacher talk is bad - it's about getting that balance right!

Hi, Fergus. I took the CELTA in 2013. While I did very well in TP, unfortunately, failed my assignments. I found the language analysis and recommending the lesson to help the students really challenging.
This year, I intend to try again & am really pleased to have found your videos! I truly believe that by watching and applying the tips, I’ll be successful this next round.

Greetings Mr Fergus I regret to say I have many failures in my life but marrying my delightful wife was not a mistake!!!! I hope your assignment went well in the end. You need to remember that "resub" doesn't = fail. In fact the best way to describe it would be that your tutor will tell you exactly what you need to do in order to pass the assignment, and then, well, just follow those instructions and you will pass.
