99% of video tutorial that I watched are with male voice. This is the first time I learn something online, where the teacher is female. And suddenly I had flashback memories of studying during highschool (because most of my teachers are female), and you know what is awesome? I can digest and remember your video content much more easy ... Maybe because of that mental state that I longing for.
    Thank you.

    Hey Leila
I have subscribed to your channel. Long-time developer and first-time Power App beginner.
One of my colleagues referred me to your channel and I am happy I did.
I have a project that will live on Sharepoint, and for obvious reasons, Excel is not going to cut it as a front end. The back-end source is SQL server.
The front-end will be a multi-user, and certain column(s) will be refreshed / updated by the inbound SQL data.
So, as I mentioned I am very green in this neck of the woods. :) and the exploration goes on. ..

Leila, I have really enjoyed your videos over the years. This tutorial was great. If you are looking for ideas for expanding on this topic, one suggestion would be to include the ability to take and store photos with a new app. Say you have a field survey and want to document what you are surveying with photos, how would this be handled with a custom app and how would you control naming photos as well as where the photos are stored. Keep up the great work.

This has been an excellent, informative video. I only discovered Power Apps two weeks ago, and have not yet got the hang of it. But, I am designing a Power App at my workplace, the data source being an outdated Excel file, which is printed out on paper by caretakers and completed on site.
This is a legacy process which is slow, and subject to errors. It needs changing. Hopefully, my new Power App - to be run on a mobile phone - will hurtle my workplace into the information age 👍☕🚀📱

I'm involved in data for an engineering company and usually sharing trackers/excel files or Google Sheets is at most clumsy and ugly. Having data available in your pocket with 2-way data store on a cloud server is very powerful for working in large organisations with offices all over the world and people working remote. I use Power Automate and AI so it's a natural progression and unlike google appsheet Power apps can use phones to capture images, video and sound very very powerful in reporting.

Wonderful job - you are so good at this stuff. I'm a senior mostly retired. I don't need to learn any of this but whatever is inside tells me to get on with it. This reminds me of an Access program. I first started with DBase and moved onto Access. I understand they still have Access today but don't promote it anymore. Really don't need it with a program like this.

A very good short overview of PowerApp, but the people should make sure that if they are part of a large company/gov dept/military...etc they should get this approved prior to the building as some places have very strict and restrictive policies, regardless of how much better it would be for the project outcome.

However, can I suggest that at the start of the videos you show the audience a preview of the end product, in order to see the end result is before going all the details.
This would help the audience understand the utility of the video before watching the entire clip and would also help catch the audience attention early

Everything was going so well until 3:15 into the video then everything fell apart.
In my Excel document, I've already got data. The columns have the right data types (Date, Time, Text) yet when PA creates the app, it looks nothing like what's in this video. It's just blank.
The 'EditScreen' section isn't giving me the information I need and giving me the wrong data types. E.G I've got a column called 'Start Time' yet in PA it's showing it as a data picker - I don't want a data picker.. I want a time picker.
I'm totally lost at this point.

Leila, as always your videos are very clear to understand. I have a question, as you mentioned in the end the users would have access to the underlying data whether in Excel or in the SharePoint List, is there a way to restrict access or restrict view? Or just have access to their own information and not of the others on the list? Thanks if you happen to actually see my comment and reply. I know this video is over a year old 😊
