"Decoding Blood Types: The Fascinating Science of Blood Grouping"

Blood grouping & Typing is a test that is done to figure out the type of blood type in a person or which blood group they belong in. Rhesus (Rh) typing is used to find out if you have a certain protein called Rh factor on the outer layer of your red blood cells
The ABO blood typing system groups your blood into one of four categories:
Type A has the A antigen.
Type B has the B antigen.
Type AB has both A and B antigens.
Type O has neither A nor B antigens.
Importance of Testing:
The accurate grouping of blood is very important when it comes to having a blood transfusion. If blood is given to a patient that has a blood type that is incompatible with the blood type of the blood that the patient receives, it can cause intravenous clumping in the patient’s blood which can be fatal. The patient’s body can start producing antibodies that attack the antigens on the blood cells in the blood that was given to the patient, causing reaction and rejection.
