Weirdly enough, Overgrow seems more optimal over Protean on utility builds since the combination of Grass and Dark grants immunities to powder moves and Prankster status moves, and you might not wanna lose out on either

it crazy that it will go from amazing to bad once they allow paradox pokemon.
My original prediction was that Meow would be the better singles mon and Dirge would be the better doubles mon. My take was completely backwards lol.
I’m not surprised to hear about this. When I saw the description for Flower trick, all I could think was “Are Gamefreak insane?! This is totally broken!”

I think a look into hydreigon would be a great video idea. Out of nowhere he started dominating the meta as well, maybe cause of the lack of paradox, but assault vest dreigon is scary
I picked meowscarada as my starter just based on the way it’s final evolution looked. I always choose my starter off what the final evolution looks like. And I saw so many articles saying it was the worst starter.. but look who was right and look who was wrong tehehe
When Scarlet and Violet first came out, I went through all of the new pokemon on serebii. When I found Meowscarada, I said "So this is just grass type Urshifu then." I wasn't that wrong.

Still sad Protean was nerfed, but glad it still has its usage, especially for Meowscarada.
All 3 starters are nuts this gen. Quaquaval is basically a free win in singles, Meowscarada is insane (but imo a bit weaker but having more utility for VCG than Quaquaval) and Skeledirge is a decent wall that checks the meta well (but got the short end of the stick of the bunch just barely). All 3 are pretty game warping in their own areas.
Since you were mentioning the tournament, I had some trouble picking the last mon on my team to fill some holes until I remembered one of your video. Thanks for the Hariyama idea! Repped the big guy in top cut
Outside of a few exceptions (flutter mane and iron bundle), even with paradox mons, a lot of them are either weak to u-turn, weak to one of meowscaradas stabs, or are slow enough that meow can pivot out with no danger.
