I was watching the previous video and you are a bricklayer, a carpenter, an architect, an aquarist, and I'm sure I need more jobs, brother. You have a paradise at home, it's the good thing about having space. My English is very basic but the steps are understood, thanks for the inspiration. 🙌🏼🔥🌱
Thanks Zenzo! Yeah, I’ve seen your pond videos, you’ve got a great setup! I’ll for sure be doing update videos of the pond as it matures and starts to properly grow in. 😊👊
Hi Ginger Fishy, At around 3:30 you were trying to attach netting to your frame to cover the pond. Had you flipped the frame so that the top was on the netting/deck, it would have been much easier to attach to the frame. I do see your wire approach worked, but just wanted to make the suggestion in the event it serves you in the future. Great job though! This is stunning!
Such a good idea for folks who cant dig for whatever reason. You can sit beside your pond and see the fish easily, and if you have a big dumb dog, like i do, it is more likely i can train him to stay out of the pond! ❤❤❤love everything about this!
Wow. Your videos are fantastic. I appreciate the time and effort it must have taken to produce this content. So easy to follow and full of information. I absolutely love the finished look. I can’t wait to build mine. 😁
Yeah, got to try and help out the bees 🐝 I’ve got a couple of solitary bee houses that seem be going down well, so I think they like the garden and the plant choices! 🌿
Fantastic! Great to see it all done and with the fish in. You've done a massive service to the community by posting your vids. If I hadn't seen your above ground pond vids I'd never have thought about using a bog filter - wouldn't be without one now!
Wow, amazing you qre so lucky! Iit is beautiful!! The only thing i think missing is some small rocks/pebbles at the bottom of the pond, but there may be a reason for not doing this.
I have one of these tubs but going to set mine up over the winter ready fir spring as its getting late in the season now. Then I will move my fish across. Looks amazing good job. Going to steal your hereon protection idea 😂
Yeah, that’s a good idea, getting things sorted over the winter, ready for Spring next year.. ideally I was hoping to get mine done earlier in the season but it was so wet this summer I kept getting rained off.. 😊
Hello Ginger , what a fantastic pond you have. I love the lights and I think that I shall put some on to my pond. All of your hard work has paid off . What you have achieved here is amazing. You are seriously talented. You now have a haven in your own back garden. Very well done indeed. 😊🐠🐟🐡🦋🌻🐓
Thank you! I’m hopefully going to get a 1 year update video out soon. There’s a couple of small things I would change, but nothing major. Good luck with your build!
Hey i love this pond. To help with the green build up in the pond get urself a pleco and it will eat that stuff and keep u from having to drain and clean
Pleco’s can’t survive (in general) colder water. Green build-up, as you mention it, is algae -> the pond is getting too much light (sun or artificial). If you want to get rid of it, don’t put a fish in an environment it is not meant to be (pleco’s also need a real big piece of wood to munch on). Take away the root cause instead of battling the consequences. In my opinion leave it as it is, algae mean your pond is healthy and a far more better environment for your goldfish that a clean tub. More natural, than artificial. Also algae provide a food source for your fish. P.S.Pleco’s produce far more waist than help your system. It is misinformation spread by the internet, like yours.
As someone who keeps freshwater tropical fish in an aquarium, and has no experience of a garden setup at all, these and your mini pond videos have been a great help in giving me ideas of how to set up something outside. Can you or anyone else advise re essential reading for setting up outdoor electrical supply for ponds or other TH-camrs that have great vids on the subject?
This is easily the best, most informative video on the subject that I've seen. I inherited an in ground pond full of sludge and rocks that I've rehabbed, but have been lacking a video with easy filtration directions that will work for my situation. I was gifted 4 koi and had one goldfish. The koi have propagated to include 20 new fish over 2 years, so I need to make sure my filtration is up to the task. Thanks greatly! 😁👍
I so want to build my own now 😩 I would most definitely add in some rocks and submersible lights, but either way, it's still an awesome, beautiful project ❤️ And I must say I wasn't going for the rug idea till I saw the couch the thought I need to trade in the projector screen for a pond now 😀 gotta share this with the hubby 😊
This looks really great! What a lovely place to sit and relax! My only suggestion, which is a tiny detail, I wonder if you could get two pieces of bamboo big enough to cover the black pipes returning the water.
This is amazing, and a truly inspiring project.. could you do a video breakdown of the costs of materials and where we might get them please. You have definitely inspired me with my own garden.. fantastic workmanship here.
Thank you, thats very nice of you to say! I’m hoping to do a full cost breakdown video at some point, not too sure when, but when I find some spare time I’ll defo get one done!
Looks fantastic and those surely are some beauties you have in there. We’re glad you got the netting figured out certainly can be frustrating dude hopefully you can enjoy the pond for a couple more months before it starts to snow.
Thanks bro! The weather is still pretty decent here at the mo, which is nice.. not too sure how much longer it will last though.. I need an indoor pond like you!!! 😊👍🌱
Thank you! You can get some good shop bought ones, the pond that this new pond replaced was a ‘Blagdon Affinity’ shop bought pond.. they come in lots of different sizes and are pretty cool! Thanks for watching!! 😊
I remember in your build video you were questioning whether to leave to bottom clear or add gravel. I initially thought sand/gravel/plants would be better but seeing it with the fish, I absolutely love the contrast of the fish against the black background
Yeah, I agree, I think it really does allow the fish to stand out.. I was initially a little worried it might look a bit plain, but now the fish are in and the plants have started to grow, i don’t think i need any substrate 😊
@@GingerFishyOfficial: if you want to see natural behaviour of your goldfish put in gravel. Goldfish love to forage in the gravel. Just use small (BLACK) gravel (1-2 mm) and you won’t even see it at the bottom, but get happier fish and see their natural behaviour.
Love it, man. I was absolutely floored when I saw your build video. It really did turn out quite elegant. I'm still dreaming on this but also still living in an apartment so it's a ways off. I feel like some additional plant growth behind the pond will elevate it even further.
we had a heron try to get our fish once so we stretched netting over pond it is a pain to stretch tight. i like the cover you built, we have koi that have grown so huge i doubt any bird could eat them but don't really want them trying so i have a mesh tent that just sits over pond in fall after plants are cut down.
Hi Paul the clowns are hosting at the back, my clowns did it in a spot where I couldn’t even see them for 2 months 😕 but after that they eventually started swimming around, just need to give them some time 👍🏻 tank is unreal 🎉🎉🎉

@@GingerFishyOfficial all good here. Had some trouble getting it clear in the beginning of the season but got everything going good around the beginning of the summer.
