Unfortunately the fish are dead and I was trying to figure out the filtration system so I could hopefully bring the pond back to life and your video helped out a bunch.
Thank you for explaining all this. I kept seeing commercials on what these look like but I never understood how to set it up. This gives me a better idea. Thank you!!
Nice video! You might want to look into drum filters, though - they offer superior cleaning by automatically filtering out dirt and keeping the water clear. Maintenance is minimal, and it’s energy-friendly too, costing less than 50 cents a month to run. If you're looking for a hassle-free, efficient filtration solution, this could be a perfect fit
Oh I absolutely agree but this is geared more towards the beginner hobbyist who has a small beginner pond, but on my 8,500 gallon pond I would love to put a drum filter on one day🤙🏽💯

Thanks for this video. It worked almost *perfectly* for the little 50-gallon preformed pond my wife wanted for the corner of our yard. My algae problem is gone, the water is crystal clear... nice aeration from the waterfall, easier to clean, etc. The only problem I have now is that the pump clogs weekly. I have a square of 35 PPI filter over the pump inlet, but I have to clean it weekly or the waterfall slows to a trickle.

Love the video, I made this filter for my pond and it worked well, only problem about this filter is how the filter media can get clogged and the water spills out the back, drained my whole pond because of that, but besides that problem worked well.
Yeah I make sure the pond liner goes under the waterfall spillway so when it gets clogged the water just overflows back into the pond!🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽💯💯💯
@@HaYNFishKeeper smart! I’ll probably do some renovations during the spring, thanks!
@@thefishguy3755 you can always over lap a piece of liner make sure it’s about 10in in length over
I don't know if you covered this before, using native plants for some aspect of filtering your water.
Oh definitely some floating plants are great!!🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
How do you get the water into the filtration system? Do you use a pump? If so what brand.
Yes check out this video explains more in detail th-cam.com/video/ButmWKIV6Zw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=VQuyYYgH51oH15Ku
