    Attention to detail. That's what we all strive for in our models. 😁👍

    I so enjoy your videos. I have to make a positive comment. every time your birds in the background make noise my Love birds and conure start chirping and making noises. I'm louds and always working on stuff. So my home is always loud. Keep up the great build on your Garden layout. I can't wait to see more of your O scale layout builds.

      Thanks again. Last of the details going on. Cab curtains. No idea how to do that. Did it once years ago. Need to look at that model and figure out just what the heck I did!!

    Dale you have given me an idea. I am attempting to build realistic refinery units. This requires various size vessels with dished or elliptical heads. If green stuff can be formed into concave heads then it can be formed into convex heads as well. It truly is neat the level of detail you used on the pipe fittings. Another great video.

      Hi. Yes I love green stuff. It was impossible to find for years. There was a site called “green Stuff World. Now on Amazon and everywhere. And a better product too!

    Very nice loco. You had talked about making this a Mexican loco. However, I liked the Silverton Northern Loco, too. Greta Job, Dale!!

    It always amazes me, the level and eye for detail that you folks have, along with the skill, resourcefulness, and ingenuity you all have.
    I can be resourceful (using things for other than their intended purpose), but not in modeling. I kind of gave up trying years ago.
    These locomotives, like anything F scale, provide an opportunity to create an exact scale model of real locomotives. Now all you need is the smell, you have the visual and sound part done.
    Dale, once again you've done wonders. ;-)

      Working on the smell. Eating beans. So far not working. Wrong smell. Have some incense. Smells like wood. But not coal. And oil. Working.

    I have used doll house numbers (from Hobby Lobby) for number boards. They look really good all shiney gold colored. I put them on after the paint.

      Grandt offered great numbers. I should look into that.

    It's looking really really great.
    I started working on an Annie a little while ago. I do actually have a Connie tender shell (just because it was there on eBay), so I'm flicking between the ideas of adapting the Connie tender to make it fit, or building a new tender from scratch. (I'm not keen on the Annie tender design). We'll see....
    Anyway, I've really enjoyed your Connie project. Great work indeed!

  • @frankhellman6879

    I notice you added weights that are now covered by coal. Is there some weight standard, was it derailing, or does it just make it operate more realistically?
    BYW, that water tank was way over the top. An amazing job.

    • @ToyManTelevision
      @ToyManTelevision  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The original coal load was steel. Added a lot of weight. So I just added that same weight. figured if Bachmann did that it must work. This from the company that used plastic gears…

    • @frankhellman6879
      @frankhellman6879 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ToyManTelevision Hmmm... Maybe you've hit on WHY the plastic gears failed. Or at least part of it. How much does the loco & tender alone weigh? Add to that the torque multiplication through the step-down gears from the the electric motor. And we know from our endless indoctrination lessons on electric cars that motors are already torque-monsters. Add some cheap plastic, and polymer transmission gear failure is far more likely.

    What do you use to grind up the coal?

    • @ToyManTelevision
      @ToyManTelevision  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A salad bowl. A metal one. Then a hammer. But not the head. The handle. Mash down on the coal. Then focus on the big bits. Until it’s all the right size.
