  • Almost the same as the Truma D6E The JP Combi 6KW Diesel Electric Air and Water heater has arrived, lets unbox it!
    We ordered the unit from alibaba and it arrived in 10 days to our door in the UK. Total cost including shipping and taxes came to around £1150 which is less then half the price for similar Truma Combi D6E Diesel / Electric Air and Water heater.
    Stay Tuned for future videos where we show exactly how we installed it, tapping into the diesel tank in the Citroen Relay and connecting up everything to get this unit (hopefully working!) in our camper van conversion.

    I’m not sure it’s a “copy of the Truma”, I think the Truma is a rebranded JP (possibly with some improvements, a brand, warranty, etc). Great video! I’ve been down *exactly* the same thought process!

      I think you are right, and it's something that I've been thinking about. Not sure which one is the original design / version, either way they are very similar spec wise. If the JP preforms well it's great value for money compared to the Truma. Hopefully we can get it up and running soon and we can do a proper review. Stay Tuned for the install and more build vids. Thanks for watching! 😎👍

    I'm gobsmacked! Never heard of these before, I bought a Truma Combi 6E. I was initially sceptical, thinking it would be a cheap copy, and potentially a nightmare. But the more I look into it, it is the EXACT same unit, re-badged. In which case, it's an absolute bargain, and I wish I'd known about them and bought one! Well done.

    Get another pick up pipe and fit it to the breather pipe of the diesel tank it's a lot easier, and doing that way you don't have to remove the whole sender unit, you only have to take out one screw and the breather pipe will pull out , there are a couple of videos on TH-cam showing you how to do it

    Hi really enjoyed your video I am looking at buying the same heater for my Citroen L3H3 which will be fully electric with no hook up. Can I ask two questions, have you run the water heat at 900W through your inverter yet and if so what was the result? The second question is as this is a 6kw model of heater do you think it is the right size for the van space or would a 4kw be better suited? Any advice or thoughts on this would be appreciated, thank you

    • @CasLaz
      @CasLaz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Scott ! Thanks for watching! We haven't installed the heater yet, so can't comment on that. We will be installing it soon so stay tuned for install and review video. Jp only does the diesel /electric combi in 6kw so we didn't have much choice. Its thermostatically controlled so as soon as the van is lets say 21 degrees it'll stop heating so not too worried about getting too hot. If there was a 4kw option I'm sure that would be plenty too in such a small space.

      @@CasLaz …the reason I asked us that my original Truma Combi is installed vertically (like a drum) and takes up less floor space that way.
      In fact it’s sited under the fixed corner bed. Keeps our feet nice and toasty during the colder weather.

    • @CasLaz
      @CasLaz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Spacerunneruk1 Ah interesting, I haven't thought about installing it that way, I think it would work - One end it only has the air pipes exist so I guess if you put that at the bottom it shouldn't be a problem (the other end has a fan for cooling the unit so I guess having that end close to the floor wouldn't be good.)
      For us it fits nicely under the front bench seat as shown in video.(mounting it like a barrel would make the bench too high)
