Dude what fairy tale are you telling to people. I have completed 27000 trips. I am telling you I am not even earning minimum wage in SF anymore.
Lyft is by far better because I don't have to obtain a particular acceptance or Cancellation rate to at least be able to see what direction the rider is going. Lyft doesn't care acceptance rate so they always let you know how far you are driving the customer. Uber makes it difficult to get a high acceptance rate because they'll send you rides to pick somebody up 10 miles away to drive them 1-mile but if the same thing happens with lift and you decline it they don't punish you for it and still will let you see where you're taking the writer when the ride comes in.
I Agree
Yep.
I'm just about over Uber at this point. I've been a diamond driver for months and everything seems to be worse for me 🤦🏾♀️
I drive for both, 1 + years with Uber and only 1 month for Lyft. I've been alternating every other weekend to see what pays the best and Uber wins by a large margin. Maybe it's the city I live in, but the cliental is different. Lower income people, who hardly ever tip, uses Lyft and the more middle/high income people use Uber and they tip more. Just my experience.
Truth I started 5 years ago n started with lyft I stop 3 years ago cause of their rachet clients and low tips so I switch to uber better customer 98% of time n much better tips
And you are able to assess this by picking someone up and dropping them off? Your talents are wasted driving for Uber.
Thanks for sharing
@normastits4179 you to would be able to access them by their behavior. Actions speak louder then word
@@staceybrooks1596 the reply was to Mark but either of you could enlighten me. Please share in detail how you assess this? Don’t leave anything out. I need to learn. Thanks. Please make sure to use as many stereotypes as you can.
Not true about longer trips. You're generally covering greater distances and using more gas, making the longer trips actually less profitable. The only way I do longer trips in my city is if they are surge-priced, or if they get me to an area that I want to be.
I use the dollar per mile rate to determine whether I accept a ride. I work both apps. In Las Vegas Lyft is the better choice hands down with my criteria. I don’t consider long rides with Uber because they have not offered the destination filter here for months. Lyft does!
One big factor for me is passenger quality. On that metric, in Atlanta, Uber is the very clear winner. For some reason, Lyft in this market attracts a trashy clientele who are problematic about 60-70% of the time, whereas Uber attracts a higher class customer base that's almost entirely drama free.
Interesting! I would've thought it's the way around. But then - wokies and lefties all prefer Lyft so I kinda answered it myself ...
How long ago was this video?? Uber stopped trip bonuses awhile ago.
When did you record the video. It seems like it can be up to 5 or 6 years old. How about something more updated. In LA I never get ride challenges from Lyft and on Uber now is offering earnings based bonuses which are virtually nothing. I've heard some drivers getting ride based bonuses. But if they are I'm sure the bonus is very, very low
Yeah, this sounds like it could have been made in 2016-17. But it does say this is aimed at new drivers.
My advice for new drivers is don't try to make this work full time. Sure, you MIGHT be in one of the few markets where this can be a full time job, but you're most likely not.
AS A NEWYORKER I DRIVE BOTH UBER&LYFT …I prefer LYFT they very friendly with drivers and customers service is great ,I can pick locations I willing to work, I can see passengers destination if it’s safe to go and traffic conditions .I hate going manhattan because lost $515 on tolls in NYC driving for Uber not paying back I refuse any passengers going to manhattan ❌ Driving for Lyft is the best I can also get a trip heading back home…UBER more busy but not convenient and customer service horrible 😩
When I started with Uber to Anza go the money was great but now the trips are further apart and I'm getting less of a cut for instance let's just say a 25-minute trip will be 10 minutes to the trip and 15 minutes transporting, I used to get like 8:50 for something like that but now I'm only getting like 6.80🤨 and I'm a💎 driver
Hi I’m background check motor vehicle report has been completed n clear on checkr since last week but I’m still on hol, do u have idea what’s going on
Harry, First of all are you ok? Is today April 1st? Wink once if you are being held against your will by Dara. You need to look into the camera when speaking to people and not at what you are reading. If this is a new take on Uber and Lyft it is surely different in Florida!!!
1- Ride challenges are non existent here. Uber quests are not by trip they are by accumulated earnings (not including ride tips) and are pitiful at best.
2- The statement that you earn more on a long ride is one of the most misleading statements you can make. You may generate more revenue but certainly little to zero profit on a long ride.
3- How many markets are left where a driver is paid by time and distance??? (that are not mandated by law)
4- Surge is a good thing for drivers? 2x to 3x more?? Yes Uber or Lyft may charge that but to say that filters down to the drivers is really a stretch. Teach me o wise one, when there is a 3x surge, does Uber pay more for the technology used on that ride? The insurance for that ride? Their service fee for that ride? Of course not. Please send me a screenshot from 2023 that proves that a surge/ride bonus yields the driver 2x to 3x. I won't hold my breath!
I could comment for an hour just on this 4 minute propaganda piece. This video is patronizing to drivers in the same way U/L treats drivers and riders. Disappointing to see this from this channel, and by the founder no less. Cant wait till Tuesday night and the SMTMC for a dose of reality
Please reply with a wink in the comments if you need help and I will call 911 for you.
This question also depends on your area, the Sarasota region is Uber heavy, with Lyft not nearly as used. I’m sure some regions are opposite, and others are half and half.
Los Angeles will you keep you busy if you know when and where to drive.
I used to get more rides with Uber but prefer Lyft, but now that there are so many drivers, I do not think it's worth it to drive part time. Although Lyft and Uber dominate the market, will drivers be interested in joining another startup or company that cuts commissions?
Much better proximity with Lyft. Better proximity better pay.
Video 5 years old? Harry obviously doesn’t drive anymore since he makes so much from this site!!
I'll save everyone time... NEITHER
Don't be crass. These gigs aren't a bad way to make some side cash.
@@e-cuauhtemocit’s modern day slavery
You obviously don't drive because UBER does not pay miles & time anymore. Maybe you should change your moniker to " The Rideshare Talk Content Contributor Guy"
He is probably not watching his on channel. Where is he getting this from? I just heard 4:55 secs of BS.
Sergio you need to update him on what’s going on.
At SFO Waiting 1* hours for a ride that is paying 16 dollars for 13.5 miles driving. Plus 13.5 miles driving back. Most rides pays less than 5 dollars downtown SF. That means to earn 15 bucks a driver has to complete 3 trips in the city to earn $15/hr. Most Passengers have no clue how little their drivers earning for there is absolutely no correlation in between how much customer is paying and how much is driver earning from that ride. Passengers often already upset paying premium prices and expect premium service no matter how rude they are sometime. Yet drivers are also upset spending 2/3 of their day in their vehicles and still not being able to pay bills on time. Drives should again be able to earn decent money like it used to be. They shouldn’t be thinking payments they missed while driving they should be able to earn enough so they can keep their focus on the road and quality of the service they provide.
Waiting for indrive to be in Arizona hopefully its soon can't wait for them to kick uber and lyfts butt
Outdated. Did you make this video before the Up-Front Pricing Shell Game?
How much you’ll earn is based on an A.I algo…
How we used to get paid was a mile and minute rate plus the multiplier/ surge
Why is harry khosrowshahi saying that long trips pay better? Long trips pay shit at best.
Exactly, he needs to get out and drive again.
Both do not use time and distance. I have driven for Uber for 6 years and they have switched in the past few years.
Because now, they are switched with con artists who are running a shows.
Yes! The poster of this content seems woefully misinformed about this!
I made way more weekly with Uber especially during the good weather half of the year
30s half the year
20s other half year
Lyft is asking way more rides for much smaller bonuses
I make 200-800 more a week with Uber
Only issue I have with Uber is I don’t have upfront pricing in my market yet and I don’t like not knowing where the passenger is going ahead of time before accepting the trip but Uber is busier than Lyft
I have to say that I think neither company is good to drive for. The rates are equally terrible for both companies, and it’s just not worth my time. I really cut back on driving and found other sources of income.
A person would either have to be in a desperate situation or be very stupid to drive for these companies. Giving Uber and Lyft's lower tier rides is a losing game. You can make more money working at Starbucks, Target, etc. Harry is not being honest with his viewers. To start, long rides don't pay more. This is a complete lie. Taking lots of short rides is far more lucrative. I don't think Harry even drives anymore.
@@joedriver2588W2 jobs? No thanks! The point of these gigs is to not be a wage slave. You must be only looking at slow markets too and listening to dummies who use their own cars.
Uber or Lyft is not the question!
Both or neither is the question.
Both, neither, or both plus delivery & etc is the real question.
Overall the most important is dollrate per mile, with high gas prices and ware on drivers cars and maintenance costs, the rates per mile these companies offer are not worth it.
Failed to mention trip radar sucks.
What do you mean by better drivers??
It's about your rating. Drivers with a higher customer satisfaction rating will get better offers or will get an offer for a higher paying ride first. If they decline, it goes down the chain.
You are the perfect example
How about the same video in a lousy market ?
Wait, what’s a better driver? Better?
If you ever took Lyft or Uber as a customer, you'd known that you get to rate your driver.
Lyft is more active where I live, but I don't take many passengers for them because their rates are hot garbage. Uber pays about twice as much for equal distances. Sorry Lyft, but I'm not rolling my car for $4.12.
Be smart do not start either one if your smart
Time and Distance is gone, back up Harry it is now upfront earnings. In my market Uber has gone to hell. Lyft rules in my market; Houston Texas. How about a video on Lyft Stocks.
Lyft pays better. And you are better off doing a bunch of short rides. Long rides are not worth it anymore
This video needs to be edited Harry. Uber nor Lyft pays drivers more on long trips currently
Why does no one talk about how shitty and greedy these companies are both lyft & uber charge 74$ from my place to LAX airport and pay only 17-20$ for 1 houre to there driver 🤔
Right! they take 70% + from the trip which is day light robbery! To make it worse they always report losses every year avoiding taxes
They both suck. I used to get $8.00 for short rides Uber lowered drivers pay again to $4.10 for short ride now.
I agree with Harry on a lot of what he discusses. The information he shares is well researched. It is not semantics however when discussing making more money. I believe that Uber drivers can generate more revenue because they have a larger pool of passengers however drivers should be interested in what is most profitable. That is a much more difficult question to answer. From my experience while I could generate a lot more revenue with Uber I am much more profitable with Lyft.
Thanks for being on our community!
As has already been echoed in the comments, this video seems WAY out of date, even though it states it was posted a few hours ago. Must be a new posting of an old video because a lot of what he says is no longer true such as being paid for time and distance. Such crap!!
This crap is 5 years old 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thats biggest misinformation uber dont pay time and distance they pay how they feel like which is 40% only busy area you get lucky, and bonus is joke mosly $0.50 cents a trip. And lyft pays close to $0.80cents a mile and increased ride duration can add up $2-3 extra vs uber pays few cents lol.
Both are trash.
Uber steals tips. Lyft posts them instantly and actually documents payment. Uber steals your tips.
Harry gets a big giant X, for false information. Long rides don't pay more. This is a complete lie. Taking lots of short rides is far more lucrative. If you do the math, both Uber and Lyft pay less per mile for long rides. I don't think Harry even drives anymore.
lol Uber offered me $59.45 for a drive that’s 1hr 45 min. No sock I didn’t accept
Sponsored by Uber
This guy covered this guy in the image with his voice! Hahahaha. Weird!
Really???? Are you blind Harry? Longer rides on Uber actually pay less
None
Veteran driver here! 6th month in a row I couldn’t pay my rent in a row. In past 2 months total of 11 times I didn’t have any money to buy food once even not enough to buy a bottle of water,
Both our garbage both steal money from drivers
None of them.
Both are greedy companies.. you will depend on the passengers tips.. so neither are worth it in 2024
Empower is the best Company to drive for.! They don't Hate They're. drivers! And the pay is better.!
This is 100% false. Empower INSISTS on taking their pay BEFORE the driver gets paid. If you're on their premium plan, you have to drive $300 worth of rides in the month BEFORE you will start getting paid for driving. That is literally THE most inhumane way of structuring a business partnership that I've ever heard of. Imagine driving and seeing money coming in, knowing you'll never get a dime of it. Then if sth happens where you can't keep driving to make your own money, too bad for you! How can anyone be pleased with that!?
@@keyquestions It's better than having 40 to 80% of your pay taken buy a company.. And I'll buy the way right now. It's $349 a month.
@keyquestions Actually it's $349.00. Plus you pay a fee for cancelation insurance extremely small and the charge for the credit card.
I worked last night and paid and pay half the fee. It's not much you can do when the company's left a new bureau. Hate the drivers and their customers hate their driver's too you work for who you can!
Longer trips pay you more lol.... Harry needs to get out and drive again.
Uber is best and still the King!
They are all same BS
