    Todd, there are also 9 pre-loaded tones/sounds in "customer source" - with an upcoming update in March, you will be able to upload your own sound files (including spoken messages - celebrity voices, your own voice if you use SpeakerHub to assist an elderly parent - "dad, it's not time to get up yet, go back to bed" etc.

      I wish yolink would change (or allow the user to change) the screen colors since my eyes have trouble reading the light green color on my phone. Also, any sensor that is tripped (motion, contact, etc.) should show up on the display in a different color.

    Thank you for this video. The Speaker Hub's quick start guide says to look at the manual, the manual says to look at the YoLink Academy videos on TH-cam, and then their part 3 video that should show how to setup the notifications for sensors doesn't actually exist. Pair that with their customer service chat not being available for months despite claiming to be available 24/7, and it's been extremely frustrating trying to get this setup. Typically I'm a YoLink fan boy, and I was elated when they finally came out with this so my kids would actually know what sensor is triggering the siren when it goes off, but their documentation/instructions for it is extremely lacking.

      Matt, per our email convo and as I told Bill, we're working on these things. Our desire to make "the best smart home products, at the best prices, with the best customer support" has not changed.

      Update 6/23/22: business has been growing very fast and outpacing our resources to produce the quality and quantity of instructional materials, but we've hired on a dedicated person and I have two interns to put to work on these things!
      In the meantime, we have added another instructional video and a video version of the user guide. Check it out on our SpeakerHub support page:

    Did you change the thumbnail for this video? 😂😂 I swear I saw this before without the conspiracy warnings (and I didn’t realize this was a non-mic hub til now) ! It’s funny tho, I came back to research non-listening speaker hubs tonight not because I’m worried so much about the gov but I just don’t want to be further data mined by the big tech companies. Screw Zuckerberg and Bezos etc 😅 Great video!

    Speaker Hub will also voice messages through a remote 110 or 130 decibel speaker siren. "do you have a search warrant" " put down the package and walk away"
    " you're on private property, what is your business?"
    Would like to see a video on that. I assume the message would be triggered by a motion sensor. Or you can trigger it using the app as needed.

    Does it have LED light to show the status of the door (e.g. open)? A scenario where you missed to hear the speaker hub, but later you still have ability to check (e.g. LED) the status of the door?

      Good question. I don't think there is a way to do this. I purchased a second Yolink speaker hub for a different part of the house and wanted some of the same actions/automations.....but I couldn't find a way to accomplish this, so I had to create them once-again on the second hub :(

    • @twHomeShow
      @twHomeShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Speaker Hub doubles as a regular hub as well. BUT, the key thing to consider is your experience can be a lot better if you get the YoLink Hub that allows you to connect directly to your router/ethernet by cat6 cable for a much more reliable experience.

      Alexa listens our talking all the time, SpeakerHub doesn't build in microphone, it cannot listen. To keep privacy, use SpeakerHub in the bedrooms is better option.

    • @mariodagenais6625
      @mariodagenais6625 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      First I tough that Alexa was better, but I like the privacy without microphone.
      But I had the idea that Yosmart could make a microphone that I could clip on my shirt like on Tv. But that I have to press a button to speak to have an action done. So like that nobody could lesson to us. For my opinion, it is very well done except that without the mic the sales won’t be there as much as if I would by an Alexa. By the way, Yolink is a very good product and I bought 12 water detection sensors with the valve closer and they are working great.
