    Very good video. I love the YoLink water detector and water shut off valve system. My water sensors run almost 2 years, the batteries level are still full bars. They claimed the batteries life are 5 years or more, not 2 years. After 2 years still full bar, I believe it is true for the batteries life is 5 years or more.

      That is great to hear. I love when a product exceeds your expectations especially on battery life. Thanks for chiming in. Does the water shut off valve work pretty well for you? Was it easy to install?

    Great review! We do have 3 options for AUTOMATIC water shut-off. It also works with "Control" - our device-to-device pairing (that works regardless of internet or power)
    We are a US company with our servers in Irvine California.

      Wow it is great to hear directly from the company and in such a timely manner. If you look back at my other videos I don’t think there’s a single company that has ever taken the time or effort to watch my videos and respond with helpful information. I am impressed. I really do appreciate your products and I think in the coming years there will be at least a few times that they save thousands of dollars in water damage and other things due to their capability. We had one water leak from a water softener and a immediately added your remote thermometer and humidity sensor and I was able to monitor it remotely and have a Wi-Fi switch on a carpet fan so that I knew when to turn the carpet fan off once the humidity has dropped to normal levels. That capability to do remotely is just amazing to me. One product I am really excited about is the outdoor motion sensor but it is no longer available on Amazon?

    Hi! Thank you for making this video. Do you know if Yolink has any relays that are DC and compatible with 12v where you can view the voltage in the Yolink app or in Home Assistant or Homebridge? Does the one you have show the voltage powering it?

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They have DC relays that operate off a small battery pack for 1 year. When you go inside the app to look at the relay device info it will tell you the state of the battery. Which means they do have a sensor to monitor the voltage. But it does not read out the voltage to you. I recommended that they create a product like this that would monitor your RV, boat, other 12 V batteries out in your driveway so you don’t have to open the cover to check on them. But they have not come up with that product yet. But I think it’s something that they may do soon.

      @@fixitwithjake do you know if any are 12v? I have one here that’s 6 volts and it definitely shows the battery info. Hmm this makes me think, maybe, worst case, I can do some bucking down to 6v and voltage dividing math for the voltage conversion. Hmmm. I would love to get something that’s a little less expensive like a Shelly but now I’m intrigued. 😂

      @fixitwithjake  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @RND-USA here is a 12v output alarm controller. But maybe you can just tap into the power source for what you’re doing and add a relay to the end. amzn.to/3IHFRKW

    You mentioned, long range.
    Could it be possible to use this in a 3 floors building (with all the walls, ...) and use this door sensor in the mailbox on the ground?

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. I don’t see why not. Obviously the walls will reduce some range but I think it is worth a shot! If not, just return it on amazon. They are super easy to setup up, so you won’t have to invest a lot of time.

    Hi can you make a video explaining in detail alarm strategies and merging them with scenes or using alarm fob. Basically a full app demo of yolink. Thanks bro

    Hi I am asking this as a lay person - can you please explain to me if and how I can use it as an SOS emergency alarm in case of a fall by senior citizens , by connecting to a smart watch device, to alert someone from one part of the house to another. Thank you in advance

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  ปีที่แล้ว

      I suppose you probably could but I’m not sure they have a sensor for fall detection available. I would go with something that has been tried and tested for a lot longer. If I’m going to have some of this life rely on it. I think they make tons of these exact products that have been around for a long time with testing.

    What types of batteries do they use? I could not find them for sale on Amazon. Please let me know. Nice video. Very good.

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. They use 2 AAA batteries. There are small rubber feet on the bottom of the water sensors for example. Pop those out and you’ll find Philips screws to open the case and replace the AAA batteries every 1.5-2 years.

    What do you mean by you don’t trust your security with anything from overseas when everything over here that you pick up says “Made In China”. You don’t know that???!!! And that is things Over here!!!!!😂😂😂😂🤣🤣

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I did some research before picking YoLink. Their computer servers are in the USA. So your data is not being stored and transmitted overseas like some other security systems. That’s what I was referring to. Not where it’s made. Hard to get anything manufactured in the USA these days.

      @fixitwithjake got it, now I see your point!!! Yolink is very nice!!! I installed the blue one and it doesn't have a level shutoff valve, but works great for me!!!! It was hell installing though in the small boxed in space I had using 2 sharkbite elbows and an adapter piece!!!

    how load are the alerts? and are they consistent?

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Quick and consistent. I walk in front of the motion sensor and about 2 secs later Alexa announces it. The only one that’s slightly slow is the YoLink smart speaker alert. Seems to be slightly slower than an Alexa voice alert. The normal alerts to go right to your phone or very quick.

      @@fixitwithjake are they banner alerts like for the alarm or just a quick beep?

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @asdfasdfasdfsadf7868 there are lots of different options. You can have it pop up and go away, you can have it pop up and stay there, you can create a critical alert, so it will make noises even if you have sleep or do not disturb on. You can have it set off a alarm inside your home with a siren that devices about $20. You can have it send voice alerts to your Amazon Alexa or Google. The options are endless.

    You can have the leak sensor shut off the water automatically.

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I really would like to add that feature. Unfortunately my water valve sits about 2 feet below slab next to a bunch of gravel and in a water closer due to freeze protection. So I will need to hire a plumber to cut off the existing water valve and replace it with one of these and I fear that that will cost $800-$1000 plus And I’m hoping it is done reliably if I do it :) How about you??

    • @digmatology
      @digmatology 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @fixitwithjake I more the do it yourself. I just would shut the water off ar the street. Find where the water comes inside and instal a cheap automatic ball valve and use a yolink relay to activate it when water is detected.

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    One never has a water leak when they are home. Need automated valve to turn water supply off when leak detected. Until then, pretty useless

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s funny you say that bc they have tons of automated valves to shut off the water if it detects a leak while you are gone. And it also works with or without internet. I have plans to add one but have a unique water supply line that requires a plumber to help me. It’s my the list. But would be super easy for a lot of homeowners. And they have battery operated versions. That would be the 100% setup. Leak detected, 1 sec later main water valve shutoff, alert sent to your phone via text, push notifications and an alarm inside the house. Would save home owners thousands of dollars 💵!

    Not wifi

    • @fixitwithjake
      @fixitwithjake  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Much better then wifi. The hub can use Wi-Fi or Ethernet to report what the sensors are seeing anywhere in the world. But each sensor uses LORA which has wayyyy more range then Wi-Fi and 2 years of battery life. If each sensor was Wi-Fi the batteries would last 1 day.
