Mooer is killing it these days. With their mini pedals and now the all in ones. These things are amazing and at a price point you cannot ignore. I would argue they sound better than the Helix. Not quite up to Fractal/Kemper standards but damn good regardless.
These recent modelers are very good. I've been playing with a GE200 for almost a year now, and it's more than enough for a beginner. To play indoors with a headset or some monitors, record songs and even go to some gigs, it's way more practical and efficient than real amps. Maybe the sound is different, but it's almost impossible to tell in a blind test. The 300 is a beast.
I'd bet the pod go is cool too. I still like my tube amps, but I did buy a Helix Effects and that thing is awesome! Kinda like guitars, hit mid tier ( Hx Stomp or Headrush Gigboards etc ) and you'll probably happy.
I got the greatest Headrush pedal board for $716. Brand new from Sam Ash when they retail $998 new but I yelled at the sales guys to drop the price so I could buy it, maybe it will work for you !??!
I was gonna get the pod go but it was sold out so asked how much it was apparently gonna be after tax, then sealed the deal on the greatest Headrush pedal board big dog, I'm happy as it's way better than the pod go and this mooer
holy shittcow RD...how did I never notice that? I've been using mooer for a couple of years, I took a GE200 all around Europe with a babybomb plugged in to a 4x12. Was flawless.

That thing sounds awesome. Looks like it's under $600, which isn't bad for what you're getting. The options today for guitarists sound so close to real amps and this thing gets real close. And you have an fx loop to put whatever you want added to it.
Love your videos. Always very well thought out and articulated. You also demo gear the way I like to watch, which isn't preset demos. Building a tone is the best way. Well done.
I have both ge300 lite and Hx stomp, i must say I enjoy more the amp sims of the mooer unit. Effects wise line 6 is definitely better especially for the reverbs. The thing that mooer should really add is parrallele routing in the effect chain
It is not available on retailers yet, but RRP seems to be $549. Quite reasonable for the package, and no doubt will be less once it hits street. Unlike the HX Stomp, it has more than 3 switches, which makes it a lot more usable despite being a budget model. The chassis looks quite solid, too. I definitely need to try one of these out.
Yess so glad you got your hands on this one cause i am interested in getting one!. and you are one of the few youtubers i trust with tone!!!! Things i am interested in for this unit are how the tonecaptured amps stack up against the new so called mooer "profiles" of amps (GE Labs) and the routing capabilities, lets say running a 4 cable method rig with a real amp, while sending a separate line to the FOH!! What would I like in such a device? I’d like to suggest that all demos (not just you) took the Stairway to Heaven lead as the benchmark mark sound for a tele; Hotel California for Gibson Les Paul (and maybe Tuesday’s Gone, phaser); Thunderstruck for Gibson SG and Comfortably Numb for Stratocaster (maybe SRV also)... I mean those are such massively popular Rock classics, esp on yt. If a device can cover those bases pretty convincingly it has surely ticked the boxes for a big slice of the market right there.

Leon. That LP almost sounded tele like on the deluxe channel immulation with that killer shimmer. Very cool. I love the sound of that particular LP everytime you play it. Those pickups just rock. So does the modeler of course, but I swear you could make a 1970s transister radio sound like an axeFx. 😜😂 Man. I was just remembering when I was in my 20s I considered becoming a " PRO" shooter which allows sponsers to give you a race gun and ammo, etc. I was asking my buddy who was a pro shooter or had been and he said I was a stand up shooter but not a oro. 😂 He was actually giving me a compliment, but he said the difference is that a pro even on his worse day hung over shoots good. Sounds pretty good Leon and a very compact unit. It's amazing what riff's come out naturally on certain settings ;) I'd prefer this over the GE300 just for the fact you can put the expression pedals at your feet and the unit on a stand next to you to teak easily. It will be interesting to see what the Aussie price will be. Any idea whether you can use a tablet or phone for the software?

Hey man! Great review, great sound :D BUT!!! i would love to see functionality of a pitch shifter, i think that is a critical point of all multiFX/modelers in ANY price range... My FM3 suffers from latency with pitch shifter engaged... i need to shift 5 semi steps down and looks like its just too much to handle...
That Shitcow has me interested. I've been thinking about picking up one of those VHT/Fryette Pittbulls that it is supposed to be modeled after. Mooer seems to be the only modelers on the block right now that emulate the Pittbull line. Fractal has the deliverance but I've been more interested in the Pittbull series personally.

The phrase "ich koche" would be translated to "i am cooking" Glad you had a cheeky laugh on this one. Overall the GE300 sounded pretty good i think. For my liking you took it a bit to far on the prefilters on the US GOLD setting, but in a mix thats another story. Take care
the strat sounded best to me.. is it a vintage 70s strat? are those the stock pickups or do you have something special in there? id like to hear it clean - nice big fat tone - can it sound like a good tube amp with a bit of verb.
I have Les Paul special double cut and the store that sold it to me said it's not a "lezz bpaul" because that's what I called it because i thought it was called that after watching your videos !
Damn, I may have to sell my Preamp Live for this. I was really hoping Mooer would come out with just an effects small board that has all these FX but can link to the Preamp Live via midi, then you can have those presets save like they do with the Devin Townsend pedal OceanMachine.

Good Morning Leon, I would like to have your opinion about what will be the best unit for my needs. I want to find a Unit mainly for Effect, for 80s tone. I have some great tube Amp that i whant to use ( and keep tone from them) so i would like to have an effect that can do 4 cables methode. My needs are, delay, reverb, chorus, phaser mainly. I want to find the best sounding multi effect, or processor for my needs. I dont find a lot of unit that do effect only. So i am considering modeler with effect , where i can bypass amp and cab. Also i dont use it for recording, on ly Guitar into effect,amp, cab for a live rig aplication. My question is i’m better with something like the Mooer GE300Lite ( i like the fact that it have a capture, may be a plus in my future) or something like a used Axe FX Ultra ??? Other sugestion maybe. My criteria are , sound, simplicity of use, reliability, price.

Can't mess with Cliff and crew...I'm pretty sure they legit invented the component by component traced through the entire signal path type of modelling...and then spent the better part of a decade mastering the craft. Now with the FM3 and even used Axe 2s in near mint condition with an MFC for $1400 or so...Fractal is available to just about anyone that really wants it. Get a job, save $25 a week for a year and you're good son. There is a reason that the Fractal Artists list is what it is. They haven't made a bad product yet...the Ultra sounds phenomenal, like holy shit good....it's just not as crazy as the new toys, but the Ultra is INCREDIBLE and you can pick em up for $800....run it through a 2:Ninety and a pair of 2x12 cabs with V30s and you'll be set with the best tones you've ever experienced. Fractal is the undisputed heavy weight champs of the digital preamp market.

Hey Todd maybe you can help me I just received my GE 300 lite, but I cannot figure out how to upload the newest firmware. No where can I find what button or buttons to hold down when rebooting the system for the firmware update. On the GE 300 you hold down B and the D but on this unit there is not a D button please help!!

I am curious why the preamp is cranked high and bias is reduced to a low setting on each preset. I haven’t messed with that before, does anyone know why Leon sets his presets up like that?
A couple questions: Is this notably better than the 200? My friend got a GE200...based on budget and my recommendation, which I sort of feel bad about because I didn't love it. I didn't like the workflow from the front panel, and the editor felt clunky in comparison to say Axe Edit, Helix, and presumably Quad Cortex (that thing looks dope AF). So I have t played a GE300, I haven't even seen one in the wild, so I can't speak of that. Anyways I guess my two questions are, does it feel significantly better than the 200, and does the editor have a dark mode? From a design perspective, I think they definitely could have done better with the editor UI....just my opinion of course. Cheers bro, stay safes and healthies
Finally the ge300...i was asking one month ago :)..in the meantime i ve boughe the Fm3 so i could say my opinion..firs i dont know Leon if you were running the last firmware update..with this update ge300 is next to the helix just sonically speaking..maybe not in all the simulations but there are great sounds to find in there.Second this machine has Tone capture which i ve never tried and expecially the possibility to import gnr files created with the absolute free app gelab at the moment only for mac. Talking about the hardware i ll say that all the machines now on the market offers everything a guitar player would dream so this is not an exception.It s more a question of personal preferences. Ge300 is very simple to use..i ve read only 2 pages of the manual....Ge300 vs Fractal? sonically for amps and effect Fractal is better...not by a mile comparing prices but the fm3 is one step maybe 2 ahead expecially for the hi gain sounds..90 percent of people in a live situation maybe can t hear the difference but in a studio there is..

Is a question of knowledge..i ve studied all the microphones available and knowing which choose and where put it on the cab is 80% of the sound.
I haven't been keeping up with it TBH - apparently they've sold lots of pre-orders so I'm sure once it gets released there will be plenty of vids. Hopefully someone I know orders one so I can borrow it and take it for a spin!

If I'm being honest (and I am), I didn't hear one amp model that I thought sounded good. They all seemed to share a sonic character that, to my ears, had a very synthetic feel to them. There was body in the middle but on the periphery it sounded soft, squishy and lacked definition. The overtones it produced just sounded very unnatural and it never felt like there was a guitar amp in front of me. There's a number of VSTs that do a far more convincing job, imho. To be fair though, I am aware that it has 108 amp and 43 cab models on board of which you only touched on a fraction, so I'll hold off on making any final judgments. Moreover, those the kinds of things a company will rectify with later versions of the firmware as they polish up the code running under the hood. I'm certain everyone has the desire for perfection on any product you're releasing to public, but there's a point to be made for "just get the thing to market, we'll tidy that up later"...which is just a manufacturer's way of saying "we'll fix it in the mix". As it stands now I wouldn't pay $100 for it, to say nothing of the $549 it's supposed to cost.

At first I was disappointed you didn't go for some chorus until I heard that detune, it really added some character to the sound. It was awesome!!!

Pod go has less to offer. No xlr outs, fixed order on the fx, and not as user friendly.

It's a pity most of these modellers do not sport the drumcomputer - the only one so far is Zoom with G5n and the latest G11. pity!

I did! It actually ended up cutting out due to some dry solder so I took the chance to rewire it the traditional way.

Sounds cool! How worse do you think this unit is than the fractal AX8 in terms of sound quality and feelings under the fingers? I'm wondering if there is such a huge sound difference between these two units. Thanks in advance for the answering.
The Fractal stuff is hands down the best in show in my opinion, but at the price point this thing is hard to fault.
Can't mess with Cliff and crew...I'm pretty sure they legit invented the component by component traced through the entire signal path type of modelling...and then spent the better part of a decade mastering the craft.
Now with the FM3 and even used Axe 2s in near mint condition with an MFC for $1400 or so...Fractal is available to just about anyone that really wants it. Get a job, save $25 a week for a year and you're good son. There is a reason that the Fractal Artists list is what it is. They haven't made a bad product yet...the Ultra sounds phenomenal, like holy shit good....it's just not as crazy as the new toys, but the Ultra is INCREDIBLE and you can pick em up for $800....run it through a 2:Ninety and a pair of 2x12 cabs with V30s and you'll be set with the best tones you've ever experienced.
Fractal is the undisputed heavy weight champs of the digital preamp market.
@@rickfeith6372 you're absolutely right. In fact I decided to get a used AX8 for 900€, which is great! My question concerns the gap between fractal's products and competitors ones. I always try to have a better idea about this gap, I'm curious to see how big/small this gap becomes over the years, that's all :)

Hey Todd maybe you can help me I just received my GE 300 lite, but I cannot figure out how to upload the newest firmware. No where can I find what button or buttons to hold down when rebooting the system for the firmware update. On the GE 300 you hold down B and the D but on this unit there is not a D button please help!!

I am curious why the preamp is cranked high and bias is reduced to a low setting on each preset. I haven’t messed with that before, does anyone know why Leon sets his presets up like that?

What is the quality of the amps on this in compare with Atomic Amplifire? I got Ampliforebox (which I like) and searching for something with effects.

A couple questions: Is this notably better than the 200? My friend got a GE200...based on budget and my recommendation, which I sort of feel bad about because I didn't love it. I didn't like the workflow from the front panel, and the editor felt clunky in comparison to say Axe Edit, Helix, and presumably Quad Cortex (that thing looks dope AF). So I have t played a GE300, I haven't even seen one in the wild, so I can't speak of that.
Anyways I guess my two questions are, does it feel significantly better than the 200, and does the editor have a dark mode? From a design perspective, I think they definitely could have done better with the editor UI....just my opinion of course.

Finally the ge300...i was asking one month ago :)..in the meantime i ve boughe the Fm3 so i could say my opinion..firs i dont know Leon if you were running the last firmware update..with this update ge300 is next to the helix just sonically speaking..maybe not in all the simulations but there are great sounds to find in there.Second this machine has Tone capture which i ve never tried and expecially the possibility to import gnr files created with the absolute free app gelab at the moment only for mac. Talking about the hardware i ll say that all the machines now on the market offers everything a guitar player would dream so this is not an exception.It s more a question of personal preferences. Ge300 is very simple to use..i ve read only 2 pages of the manual....Ge300 vs Fractal? sonically for amps and effect Fractal is better...not by a mile comparing prices but the fm3 is one step maybe 2 ahead expecially for the hi gain sounds..90 percent of people in a live situation maybe can t hear the difference but in a studio there is..

@@marcosalvarez3436 not one in particular.. Is a general improvement.. I ve used mostly jcm900 mesa jp2c and the mark iii and sounded great.. I also suggest to use mooer ir.. Is a question of knowledge..i ve studied all the microphones available and knowing which choose and where put it on the cab is 80% of the sound.

Its just staggering how much better your vids with a tube pre and your eventide sound, compared to this. I guess it's a huge difference in cost as well. This unit just sounds so small and boxy by comparison?

If I'm being honest (and I am), I didn't hear one amp model that I thought sounded good. They all seemed to share a sonic character that, to my ears, had a very synthetic feel to them. There was body in the middle but on the periphery it sounded soft, squishy and lacked definition. The overtones it produced just sounded very unnatural and it never felt like there was a guitar amp in front of me. There's a number of VSTs that do a far more convincing job, imho. To be fair though, I am aware that it has 108 amp and 43 cab models on board of which you only touched on a fraction, so I'll hold off on making any final judgments. Moreover, those the kinds of things a company will rectify with later versions of the firmware as they polish up the code running under the hood. I'm certain everyone has the desire for perfection on any product you're releasing to public, but there's a point to be made for "just get the thing to market, we'll tidy that up later"...which is just a manufacturer's way of saying "we'll fix it in the mix". As it stands now I wouldn't pay $100 for it, to say nothing of the $549 it's supposed to cost.
The amp samples that we can download at mooerstudio, made by users, are much better than the stock ones.
