BMW dealer recommended we only do the center 4. Did that, seems to be the way to go for a big-sausage finger guy like me. Much easier to manage and works well.
Really nice video! At 5:21 the video says not to put one of the tumblers in, and it says "more on this later", but I did not understand why and I did not see anything later in the video about it. Can you share "why" not to put that one in. THX!!!
Hi. Came across your excellent video while searching for information on the pannier locks. This may be a stupid question....but I'll ask anyway!!! Can you use the cylinder locks WITHOUT inserting any of the "tumblers"/"wafers" ?? i.e. presumably you could then use ANY BMW key to lock/unlock the panniers.
Hmm, not 100% sure what is causing your problem. Did you leave the last tumblers out? I showed this here th-cam.com/video/2OpjeLVdF-0/w-d-xo.html at 5:21. This will cause problems.
Great video. Love the end , jumping off the bike.
Great video. This was supposed to be done by the BMW company, but they forgot to set the lock from my key. Thank You buddy! Cheers
Awesome tutorial. I did all the locks in no time at all. Thanks to you . Simple once you know how. Thank you. 👍🏼
Watched several videos on this subject. This one seemed to have the best instructions and I did it on the first take. Thanks!!
Thank you for taking the time to record and post this video. It was very helpful.
For sure, thanks for checking it out!
Thank you 🙏, just used your instructions for a factory top box on R1300GS… worked a treat (and much easier than KTM lock barrels ).
Excellent, clear and concise video. Thank you.
Thank you for the kind words!
Thanks mate, great help, all done. Cheers from NZ 🎉
Thanks man! Your video helped me install my lock :)
Thanks a lot for the video! I re-keyed my top box thanks to the helpful instructions here.

Thank you! Yes at 6:22 I talk about keeping the last tumbler out as it won't allow your key to be removed if let in.
Great tutorial and well explained 😊
Thank you! 😊
Thank you very much for this video, so usefull for this subject
Glad it was helpful!

Welcome!
Quick question. I bought a used GPS cradle but it came without a key. Any idea how I can remove the cylinder from the gps cradle without existing key?
Did everything exactly like the video, i got it in the box too. But my key wont turn. Its stuck in the lock position. How do I get it back out?

Same problem here how die you fix it ?
@@Daltonwwp You have to force it back out, then dismantle the entire key. I left out a couple of locks in the cylinder. Now it works.
@@semvv8638 okay thanks, so you can't take it out like you normally take out a cylinder?
@@Daltonwwp No the mechanism is stuck but not locked, it should come out by just tugging on it. No tools needed.
What’s the part number
When the video starts, it's right on the package. And, it reads 77 49 8 544 517
@@BikesCameraAdventure ooops sorry and thank you !
There is also a kit with 8 cylinders packaged together that is less expensive than buying them individually .
Thank you!!!
Welcome!
