So sad for VW/Germany, nowhere to go but down, dragging the economy with it. However, the 2 saddest companies in 'electrification' are Siemens/Germany and GeneralElectric/USA. As an old-school electronics engineer[EE] it's hard to believe they are not leading somewhere in the EV ecosystem.

Google AI: Tesla Cybertruck's battery pack has a dual pole dual throw (DPDT) switch that can reconfigure the bus between 400V and 800V. The DPDT switch splits the battery pack in two depending on the charging station's voltage (It splits into 2 400V pack for low voltage Superchargers. The new ones can put out 800V finally 🤓)
Faster supercharging = less battery life. Doing this repeatedly will damage the battery over time. That said, when road tripping every minute shaved from charging = more drive time. That is a good trade off.

When channels like this talk about charging at home it ticks me off a bit. Not everyone owns a home. Not everyone can afford a home. (Especially not nowadays). Some people live in apartment buildings that have no changing infrastructure at all...
I have a friend who doesn't have a garage or ability to charge his Tesla at home. He goes to a super charger, pays a monthly membership fee that lowers the cost of charging and charges his car as he needs at Tesla super chargers. As long as you have super chargers or even other non Tesla chargers close by, you can used them to charge your Tesla. My friend says it isn't a big deal. Just make sure your car is charged to 80-85 percent when you park it. The app tells you the charge level from your cell phone. It is workable if you really want to drive an EV.
With Trump in charge, the Chinese will not enter the U.S. auto market. Trump has already stated that if they build factories in Mexico and attempt to use the USMCA trade agreement to enter the U.S., they will be hit with 100% to 200% tariffs. The only way they have a chance to sell anything in the U.S. is to build factories in the U.S. But if they do, that puts them at a significant cost disadvantage because they have to compete on a level playing field with no Chinese government subsidies to prop them up and won't be able to beat Tesla's manufacturing efficiency no matter what they do and won't be able to compete effectively. So, the Chinese are SOL in North America while Tesla keeps expanding worldwide and doesn't face the headwinds the Chinese are facing on a global scale.
Energy cost is higher in China (compared to the U.S.), so if China build fully automated factories in the U.S. the differences in wages would mostly be mood. Transport from China to the U.S. and existing tariffs are also not cheap. All combined, Chinees factories could definitely compete without direct subsidies from China. U.S. car manufacturers would be forced to step up automaton (which unions won't like at all), they can forget about future bail-outs if we banned subsidies from China.
