    I’m pursuing nursing as a second degree after coming from fashion. But after the pandemic and becoming a parent during the pandemic what I valued changed. What I valued became more inward and centered around family

    Subscribed! I'm also considering nursing as my second degree. Currently, I’m a data analyst at a clinical research organization (a desk job), but I feel so dissatisfied and disconnected. Still, I'm grateful for the experience because it’s helping me understand myself better. Thank you so much for sharing this perspective and for creating this community for people who share the same heart for nursing. ♡

    This video is such a breath of fresh air. We often hear how toxic and abusive nursing is (not discrediting them I know nursing definitely has its negative side!) and it makes me so nervous as someone who’s currently halfway through my program. Thank you for the motivation!

      I felt similarly- when I was waitlisted the first time I applied, I thought it was maybe a sign I shouldn’t go into nursing because I had just heard so many negative things. But truly if you have a healthy and supportive work environment- it makes all the difference ♥️ so don’t settle for a position that doesn’t allow you to enjoy nursing! Wishing you all the best :)

    Your energy is so rare to find and your perspective on nursing is so needed with how much bad press the field gets these days. I am going back to nursing school (2nd degree as well) for similar reasons and this video makes me feel like I'm making a move in the right direction. Thank you!

    Wow. So much of this resonates with me. I have always worked in healthcare since I left college (I’m almost 30!) and I love it. I have felt the feeling of that I know I want to be helping in this direct of a way. I have always had a little whisper in my mind towards nursing. But, like you, I have told myself the same story of not being a STEM girl and not being able to do it. But when you said it was so empowering to prove yourself wrong. Chills! Plus the humanness of healthcare. Ugh, wow. I was meant to see this!

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I’m currently in accounting. I’m a new graduate but I do have this tugging feeling that corporate isn’t the right fit for me. Like you, I’m someone who’s very open with his emotions so I don’t feel like this is appreciated in my current industry. I’m planning on making the first move and taking the pre-reqs for the nursing program at a local community college to dip my toe in the water. I’m glad I finally came across someone who talks positively about nursing

    Thank you so much for posting this!! Going back to school in fall to complete my nursing prerequisites and become a second degree RN as well -- I related so much to the things you said and I just know we will make great nurses, this was so reaffirming

    Thank you so much for this wondeful video. We need more people like you who share your perspective, you said it so well and beautifully and Ias selfish as this may sound- I really wish you would put out more nursing content like this, or even vlogs documenting your nursing experience because I know I would enjoy them and find so much comfort and encouragement through them. I wish you the best and you are going to be an amazing nurse!

    I'm so glad I found this video. We are quite similar. I'm in undergrad almost done studying a geography/environmental studies degree. I intended to go into urban planning and do a masters until I took my first urban planning/development courses and disliked all of them. I now have serious doubts that the field is for me :(.
    I also want a people-oriented career and also decided to first take A&P to explore options in healthcare! I'm happy to hear nursing worked out for you. I hope to find what works for me. Could you say anything more about your experience in urban planning type jobs?

      @@DabwieDoo so sorry to hear that you had a hard time connecting with your classes- that’s such a draining feeling and I resonate a lot. Before starting nursing I worked in affordable housing, environmental research, and economic development. I found the affordable housing policy and economic development work to be really interesting, but I really struggled working with long term goals/fighting against constant bureaucracy. Something that really appeals to me about nursing is that there’s a lot of relatively short term/instant gratification. There are so many tangible daily tasks that really help me feel satisfied and accomplished and motivated. I never really felt that way in my office jobs where so many things were behind a computer- and even the in person stuff just had a feeling of constantly chipping away at a giant, abstract issue haha. That being said- such important work to do and if you’re okay with delayed gratification in work- then it might not bother you! I think figuring out what motivates you is really helpful in finding a satisfying career. Hope this helps :)

    wow I didn't think there was anyone out there that has the same fears as me, I feel so seen- I'm interested in nursing but am afraid I can't master anything outside of liberal arts. I'm also working a job solely on the computer and feel extremely unfulfilled

    Great Content !! How you deal with nursing job hazards like needle stuck/ getting infections ? My sister wants to pursue nursing for her career but seeing these health hazards she is kinda scared !!

    • @allwool
      @allwool  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@andysvlogging I’d say definitely don’t let that be a deterrent from going into nursing! They do a great job in school teaching how to protect yourself and a lot of hospitals have really strong evidence based practices to help keep you safe :) my biggest advice with needle sticks is to be very intentional and slow down when drawing up meds/drawing blood/giving injections. Different kinds of needles have different automatic post injection safety retractions so you never have to recap a dirty needle yourself. For infections- just making sure you’re always wearing the right PPE and keeping up good hand hygiene will keep you safe. Wishing her the best of luck!!
