I am 40 years old, and I have just began my prerequisites to become an RN. My end is to become a crna. I’m hoping that it’s not too late in life for me but I remain optimistic.
It’s never too late! Wishing you the most luck and blessings in all of your future endeavors. You got this!!!❤️
Keep going man! I’m 21 getting my bsn and I stress so much about trying to get in CRNA school. You got it!
You got this queen
Checking in on your journey! I hope it's going amazing!
I’m about to graduate my ADN program in may and am seriously considering pursuing a CRNA degree once I graduate, get my BSN, and get some ICU experience. It’s a long, difficult road to pursue but your videos are so educational & inspirational!! The more I watch your videos and research info about a CRNAs work life the more pumped I get about wanting to become one myself. Thanks for all the work you do!!! ❤️❤️
Go for it girl! Your right it’s a long journey but SO WORTH IT!
I am 27 and I'm doing some serious life changes. I think I am going to pursue nursing with an end goal of earning my CRNA I feel a little old to start such a long journey, but I don't have a large ego I just want to do something that isn't going put me in the same position as my parents and actually lets me live a life. Filling an important role while doing so isn't a bad bonus either lol.
I am 26 and starting nursing school in the Spring! It’s cool to see that someone else is making a similar life transition. I wish you the best of luck with your journey!
27 is not too old
Same. 26 here with an MBA. Just started pre req courses. Hoping to do a A-BSN in under 2 years and eventually go for NP.
I started nursing school at 28
I’m in the same boat. I wish you luck 🙌🏾
Preachin' to the choir sister! I am a NP and one of the main reasons for making this transition was so I could be more present with my family and not have to stress so much about things like money, time, etc. Love the balance that being an advance practice provider affords me! And spot on with the solid partner...100% the best! Thanks for the snippet of your life, looks like it was a great day!
My moms boyfriend is a CRNA he makes about $275k a year. They don’t just put you under their experts in airways as well. Usually when a doctor can’t get it the CRNA can.
How bout a monthly
@@Timmysimon-sz6uu just divide it by 12 roughly
Hello! First timer here! I love the way you explain every detail in the OR when it comes to anesthesia. I’m a nurse in the OR and hopefully some day a CRNA. Great vid and God bless!
Awe I’m glad you enjoyed it!!! 🫶🏼
SMART AND VERY SMART.Girl i couldn't do it,hats off to you Doctor!
I’m wanting to choose this path so bad.. I’m struggling to barely get my basics done for nursing as a single mama of 3! I’m hoping I learn structure etc to push through & level up for myself & kiddos! You rock ❤️
Omg girl you got this
Love this video, thank you for charing your life experience as a CRNA, it is so inspiring, best wishes to you and your family.
Love nerve blocks!
I’ve had 3 caesareans and my anesthetist on my last gave me nerve blocks it was amazing and I could bond with baby much better without being drugged to the eye balls 🥰
Yes! TAP blocks for C-sections are the way to go 👏🏼
Hi Sarah I just love your channel and will definitely go follow you on Instagram. Your so inspiring and such a love of life kind of gal that I love. I just had my eye removed due to a genetic eye disorder and had put up with extreme pain in it due to 3 cornea transplants failing and the eye perforated. When I woke up they had put a block in and I felt incredible. After 3 years of horrific pain I was feeling awesome. At exactly 8 hours omg the pain was intense as soon as the block wore off wow. But to have those 8 hours gave me the courage because I hoped it would be heaps better once healed. And it has been. Best decision I have ever made. Totally pain free now and feeling like a new person. Thanks again for the great vlogs your awesome. Loads of love Leisa Western Australia xxxxxxx
Oh my word thanks for sharing your experience! That’s incredible. I’m so sorry your going through that .. one day at a time!
Great personality! I also love your scrub caps. I am doing FNP program but I am feeling like it's not what I really want. Thank you for taking us with you this really helps.I don't have much OR experience, about 4 years ICU so just considering some options.
Love the videos, and I appreciate the encouragement!
I’m so glad I found your channel 🙏🏽
Thank you. Yes, we are adding blocks!
I love these videos so much !!! You’re so inspiring 🫶 also do you have a link to your coat??
Your wonderful and wish you were my anesthesiologist. My hand surgeon was fabulous and anesthesiologist was slamming. Have a great one and thanks for sharing. P.S. your earrings are blessima
Awe thanks lady! So glad you have had a good experience 👏🏼
I would love to be CRNA but the thought of doing spinals or central lines scare me.... how often do you do those? Or are there certain hospitals or specialties where they only use a specific form of anesthesia?
Love your content! Showing bits and pieces of bts at your work 💉
Loving all your videos
You make it look so fab!
Hope you can stay awake during those carpal tunnels. The CRNA's at my hospital have it hard. They got new chairs but they didn't have a cup holder or magazine rack. Can I get you a lead apron for that C-Arm case you knew about in the morning?
Hey my names Chloe! I graduate nursing school in May and am highly interest in becoming a CNRA. I would like to job shadow a CRNA before I decide on if I want to work in the ICU. Do you have any tips on how to find job shadowing opportunities with a CRNA?
There it is 🙌🏻! My kinda videos, thanks girly 🤗. Have a great day!
Thanks friend 😘😘
How many hours a day is your shift? And you can do 12 h shifts for 3 day and take 4 days off ?
I have a question. How can you pass a patient so quick? Do you have to study the patients and have a plan the night before?
I am a current highschool student researching different career paths to go down after graduation. This career has really caught my attention and seems like a potential good fit for me. To be a CRNA I know you said the hours differ but do you know if it’s possible to be a crna but not have to be on call ? I wouldn’t want crazy hours just a simple 8 hour shift lol
Where did you find that scrub hat?? I love it!!
Studies show that anything more than 4mg of decadron in a peripheral block does not increase density of the block. The side effects of increased blood glucose is greater than the benefit of the block. So I wouldn’t add more than 4mg in a single block.
Another question..Do CRNA's work in burn wards?
I love the scrub cap! Where did you get it?
What do your shifts usually look like? Do you ever get these crazy long shifts like some other professions in emergency rooms or is it pretty regular?
Hello! Wonderful video to be honest. It didn't feel hyper clinical; you've got a nice environment in there. It might sound wild but... I am a Frontend Developer and I am open to a career shift. I've heard CRNA can be super lucrative (200K$/year). I'm considering a fast track into the field. Do you think that is possible or there are programs suited for professionals to have an speedy transition to this type of work? Is the wage compensation as good? & The work-life balance and work-engagement; how does it feel? If feels a lot more estable and in demand to me. Frontend Development is way too volatile and stressful for me at the moment. Last issue is that I am living in Spain, Europe; and I don't know why the salaries for this role in Europe are not nearly as high... What is your best advise? Thanks a Lot!!!
Hey! I’m very interested in trying to gain experience in regional anesthesia so I can have that skill set if I end up working in an autonomous environment. Did you gain the bulk of your “hands on” experience in clinical rotations or did you attend regional block seminars? Thanks for the video!
I did a cadaver workshop that made me realise how much I loved it - and then I got most of my experience in clinicals!
Do you have to talk directly to your patients
Hello, I have a question about the DNP(doctor of nursing).what they can do in the hospital?,are they same doctors, can issue own prescriptions and what is the path to be a CRNA . Please explain. Can you give me a reply please .I'm a student of studying science streem.
So i know one of the things you enjoy you said was your autonomy, but i was looking at a map where crnas practice independently and indiana wasn't one of them. (I could be completely wrong about you living in indiana but i thought you said that, lol.) So how does that work? Cause tennessee is the same way and I want to be completely autonomous. I mean i'll move to NC or something if I have to, just wondering how that works?
My Hosptial is CRNA only! Our surgeons are the collaborating MD.
Are you salary based? Or is it a case by case? I’m interested in CRNA. Currently in Indiana and thinking about Marian. I’m interested to know more about the work life balance. Also… what would happen if I became pregnant in CRNA school? 😅 I have an IUD but always wondered this. Would they let me graduate with the next class and take a break? Do they make you get right back to it the day after delivery like nursing school? lol
do you have to check vitals? is a stethoscope necessary for CRNA?
Hi!! I'm an RN with 5 yrs non-ICU experience, thanks for posting these types of videos!! I have a quick question... I'm exploring this field because I've always thought it would be interesting, but I've been intimidated as well. Why, would you say, is it that they want ICU experience? Is it more because you need the critical care knowledge (equipment, drugs, maybe mechanics of intubation/ventilator) or because the job itself has a similar dynamic to ICU bedside (rigorous charting, extremely detailed results etc.)? Or both? I would not be excited about doing ICU, but I believe I would be excited about anesthesia. Any help would be greatly appreciated, sorry for the long comment!!
Hey!! So yes it’s primarily for critical thinking, higher acuity training and over all skills learned.
You're so chill... I'm debating PMHNP or CRNA... How hard is CRNA school?
I’ve seen that it isn’t harder than med school
Hi! Where did you go for CRNA school?
Hey! I’m a CRNA in North Carolina and beginning to do blocks. I saw on another video you mentioned on PNBSchool . Is that on TH-cam or a website. I couldn’t seem to find it . Thank you
instagram
Started LPN school at 25 , graduated 2023 , started RN school at 27 will graduate 2025
How do you make monthly and a year
Hi! I’m finishing up my bsn , already working as a rn in CVICU/ICU/MICU and will be applying to CRNA school soon hopefully! Just curious did you go to CRNA when you had your children or after !? I have a 6 year old son and that’s the only little detail about it that makes me scared , I don’t want him to resent me
Hi! I got pregnant in my last year of school. But I had plenty of classmates with kids!! I would say 1000% don’t let that hold you back. It will be a couples years of some sacrifices but in the end SO worth it!
Do you work on holidays too????
Good not to use the term “my surgeon”. It’s a collaborative practice. The surgeon isn’t my boss. We work tomorrow. Also anesthesia plan is up to the CRNA. The surgeon might have a preference but the final call is the CRNAs call.

Thanks for you motivation ❤
In your opinion is being a crna less stressful than icu nurse? I'm also a parent and am looking for work life balance!
So 95% of the time our job is very “chill” in terms of stress. That other 5% will make you drink! Lol. But honestly over all I would say less constant stress
CRNA is more stressful by alot!!!
@@soonerdaddyElaborate?
@@iKazed Really there is no comparison, ICU RN vs CRNA. A CRNA does everything an anesthesiologist does, so do you think an ICU RN is more stressed than an anesthesiologist? If hell breaks out for the ICU RN they call for help or a code and RNs and MDs come running, but if hell breaks out for anesthesiologist or CRNA, they call call for help but they may not receive it as fast. They have to pilot that plane.
@@soonerdaddy Ok...? There is still a team of professionals available to help within their scope. But crashes are not great events to base average job expectations on as they are not a regular occurrence. When it comes to a DAY TO DAY life for a CRNA vs ICU RN surely there is benefits to dramatically increased pay, more schedule stability, increased autonomy (and therefore potential satisfaction), and respect.
Having more responsibilities obviously comes with more stress, but that stress can be more easily managed when considering the circumstances and environment of the position worked. CRNA as presented by even Ms. Wild seems to be a lot more stable and pays off well in both financial and personally satisfactory ways. I'll take the increased stress that comes with increased autonomous responsibility unless you come up with a more compelling, day to day example of how stressful being a CRNA is.
Very nice my Doctor 🌹
now i am a nursing student. can i become a CRNA after finishing Masters in anesthesia
?
once you get your bsn the most common path is to get icu experience then follow the path to get your masters
❤❤❤
I'm trying to look past this person's Gray's Anatomy vibe. Oy.

Hi . I come from Vietnam. I am also a nurse anesthetist like you. Can I ask for information to contact you? Can I chat and ask you about anesthesia in your country?

Is there a lot of math required to become a crna?
I would say moderate - but it’s not crazy complex!
@@TheWildFam thanks for responding! I’m currently in school to become an RN and I’m terrible at math but I’d like to pursue CRNA.

I don’t like how much time you spend grimacing and looking in the mirror or camera. It looks very unprofessional. Cap check, coffee check. How irritating
Haha I’ll work on that for ya 😜
Girl, really? If it’s that hard for you to watch just don’t. No need to be rude.
