I’m late 50s. Zep has literally permeated my whole life! Nothing since has replaced them, in my opinion, as the greatest band ever. But if you don’t like/love/ appreciate this cover… you’re just uninformed, stupid or egotisticaly untouchable. It’s Fkn great
Or maybe you just have a particular taste in music. I dont think Maynard does due justice honestly. Plant’s voice is so more clearer. Tool put too much distortion especially in the beginning. But that’s just my opinion. And the original just grooves better 😅
@@McCarlKnoxville I love tool's version more, cuz I like heavier shit and a diehard tool fan lol, but it's absolutely true that people have different tastes in music and just cause u don't like tools cover as much as the original, if at all, doesn't mean ur "uninformed, stupid, or egotistically untouchable (whatever that means)". different strokes for different folks and aint nothing wrong with that. I do also really really like that quieter bridge section tool did.
I agree without Plant it’s not the same but I do think the hard edge from Tool. This is what makes your show the best many different versions of the same song Thanks Guys!
This cover doesn’t even “feel” like a cover. If someone heard this in a vacuum without knowledge of the original, they’d assume Tool wrote it. IMO the mark of an incredible band is the ability to make a cover their own and still pay homage to the original artist. 🌀
I discovered the sound of my people in 1970 when I heard 'immigrant song' by Led Zeppelin, fast forward to 1995 and my teenage son introduced me to Tool, today I still listen to Tool everyday and several of my grandchildren are fans! Led will always be Led to me but I love Tool's cover of No Quarter ❤🔥
I like this and yes I’m a boomer too but I like when bands take a song and make it their own they put their little twist on it and you can definitely hear tools influence on this one just like Metallica did they took songs from the 70s and made it their own and I like that good song
It might be an unpopular opinion, but I prefer this to the original. Not by much, and I love both. This just fits a little better with my grunge playlist. It's also more bass heavy and sounds better on my sound system.
Give me Led Zeppelin for sure, I give Tool props for taking it on and doing a respectable cover in their own way. At least the song stays alive when any well known band plays it. I just like Zeppelin's vibe and sound more than Tool, who sure have their own fan base and present a different type of heavy music. One thing is for certain, Zeppelin's music continues to live and always will.
First listen to Tool ever. I only came here as a subscriber to Airplay Beats and a huge Zep Head. I'll now probably listen to some more Tool. Great cover but just falling short of LZ. Thanks. Cheers✌
That musical Interlude at the end sounds so much like Mastodon that I thought they must’ve toured together, but TθθL’s debut of that cover was well before Mastadon even formed.
Nope this surpassed the suppressed and lazily expressive original, the original is good but honestly a boring song for Led Zeppelin, Tool respectful made it a fun song.
As a hard core Zep fan, I found this interesting. It started off Zep like and then went total Tool. Took me a while to get into it, but it ended strong. I'll be back for another listen.
I’m glad it changed y’all’s view later lol….have to be patient 🌀👽 some people already have their mind up on when people do covers before they react. Just because it doesn’t sound exactly the same, Tool definitely knows what to do on a cover✨
I'm a true Led Head but Tool is my favorite band by far for many reasons. I think they did this cover justice and have no lost feelings for their rendition. They killed this cover in the best way!
I know every Led Zeppelin song. And Love them. But Tool is an amazing, amazing band. I love the fact it is done out of respect. Danny Carey, the drummer of Tool loves John Bonham and is one of his all time favorite drummers. And Tool loves Led Zeppelin. So this is basically a tribute to Zep all out of respect. Tool don't do covers, so that says quite a lot!!!!!
Zep is still the original and GOATed level track from Zep. It is telling when a band like Tool covers one song their whole career, and it’s this. Also is telling that zep allowed them to do it given how tightly controlled they’ve kept their music the last 60 years.
You dudes' timing is impeccable here. Right after your break when you said that musically it's the same, Tool takes it away in its style. Bravo! JPJ wrote this song, btw.
Really excellent cover with a different menacing vibe! I love the live version from the original The Song Remains the Same soundtrack--not the 2018 remaster which used different tracks from the three-night stand at Madison Square Garden. Bonham was a monster, Danny Carey is ferocious enough to do this one.
Great cover, in many ways better than the original but for me the TSRTS version with the greatest live solo ever put on tape is the definitive version.
No competition. Zep version is great. This version is great. Maynard isn’t Robert Plant (few can be) - but TOOL pulled this off 110%. It’s such an amazing cover, they become 2 different songs - both - incredible. LearnToSwim!
Both versions are incredible, but I slightly prefer TOOLs rendition for whatever reason. This is a great cover because it simultaneously pays homage to the original, while totally making it true to their bands sound. This sounds like a tool track. I think a lot of comments are underestimating Maynard as a vocalist. While he doesn’t have the upper range of Plant, I think he more than makes you for it with his power and ferocity
Led Zep used to be my fav band, until discovering Tool. The production level is outstanding and you need a good set of headphones, get somewhere quiet, and enjoy. And Tool live is great and not sloppy. Need to hear the song Pushit, salival, live version.
Esa vez mande a buscar el disco de tool ya que este cover lo encuentro genial y es el tema que me gusta de led Zeppelin, pero por calidad y hacerlo mas sombrio me quedo con tool
If you guys start going down the TOOL rabbit hole you won't come back. They are the incredible musicians and the lead singer is awesome. PLEASE start listening and reacting to their albums. You will be blown away and hopefully become part of the TOOL army! Their music is heavy and "progressive". Their sound is unlike anything you have heard. No other band comes close to them. They are "Invincible" (hint hint). Seeing them live is a religious experience.
You touched on the real issue, comparison wise. Not a good decision to distort Maynard’s voice in this version. Maynard has the chops to stand up to Robert Plant. Bad decision to tweak with his vocals.
Worthy addition... But a bit slow for me which is weird i guess...i do miss Plants ability to go up another level in pitch half way through the long wails and also Jimmy's solo
still prefer panteras version of 'planet caravan' (im a huge black sabbath fan) still prefer led zeps original tool is one of my best bands period but nope , voice wrong. he should of trusted his voice a lot more. the music to this is ok tho. so i cant even get into at that point il listen to leds all day over this. nobody should cover tools songs lol so this is the pot calling the kettle black just pissing all over leds version.
not the best track on this ep, but it rocks. Im always a Led Head, Tool is an amazing band but they cant do Zeppelin justice on covers. leave it alone,
Tool is good being tool but this does not compare to Led Zepplin. LZ original is hauntingly beautiful. Can't even understand what tool is saying in the vocals. Can't improve on what was already perfect. LZ gives me chills, tools annoyed me.
Led Zeppelin's spookiest song.
Tool did the song right.
Much respect for Tool.
I'm a huge Tool fan. its so fun for me watching people discover Tool for the first time

Love this cover. LZ's is beautiful, this one's haunting.
well said,

Defiantly need more Tool on the channel.
It's a great cover fantastic live I'm sure and lucky those who have seen it!
My 2 favorite bands

Tool kicks ass❤❤❤❤

That was a homage. How you're supposed to do a cover song. Not note for note. Can enjoy both in their own light,
You guys should do much more Tool!! They blow my mind with every song they do!!!
One of the best reimagined covers I’ve ever heard. I’m glad you two listened to it.
That musical Interlude at the end sounds so much like Mastodon that I thought they must’ve toured together, but TθθL’s debut of that cover was well before Mastadon even formed.
I had this DVD set ABSOLUTE fire
This was recorded live. The best. 🌀
Loved watching y'all feel what they did with it. Great reaction sirs!
🌀👁🌀
Love both versions !
I'm a zeppelin fan . Then I heard Tool's version of no quarter. Now I'm a Tool's fan. Very talented musicians, just like Led Zeppelin
Thanks for the Tool song. Tool just kicks ass. That simple.
Go Laa. Go Chee! Not Zeppelin but gooood stuff!
Such a great cover
I think it’s a wonderful cover of a wonderful song.
Love both versions
We ask no quarter; we give no quarter.
Nothing beats the original LED zeppelin!
This cover of the greatest cover band is better than the original.
This is damn clothes
Nope this surpassed the suppressed and lazily expressive original, the original is good but honestly a boring song for Led Zeppelin, Tool respectful made it a fun song.
Except this.
Any other band would have been terrible covering this.
I like both versions to me they both sound like different songs
More of Tool please ❤❤❤
Love the Bass in this. Tool Army!!
Love this live !!!
As a hard core Zep fan, I found this interesting. It started off Zep like and then went total Tool. Took me a while to get into it, but it ended strong. I'll be back for another listen.
Monumental

ive been a Tool fan for over 20 years and haven't heard this song, ya'll are in a deep rabbit hole.
Come on? How do you call yourself a tool fan????????? You must be a very, very, very casual fan.
Love TOOL 😌✌

Amazing
Led Zeppelin just set the bar to high for most bands now a days...WHEN GIANTS WALKED THE EARTH 🌎
LED ZEPPELIN ❤
More tool reactions ❤
Have seen rock's greatest drummers, and so chuffed to go see Danny Carey in Oct. His skin is made of drum skins.
You dudes' timing is impeccable here. Right after your break when you said that musically it's the same, Tool takes it away in its style. Bravo! JPJ wrote this song, btw.
Close your eyes and let it rip!
Yeah, agree... Plant's voice is the separator.

I love the live version from the original The Song Remains the Same soundtrack--not the 2018 remaster which used different tracks from the three-night stand at Madison Square Garden. Bonham was a monster, Danny Carey is ferocious enough to do this one.
I NEVER say a cover of Zeppelin is better--this one IS.
I saw Led Zep do this live. This cover is a lot better than I thought that it would be...
I don’t think fans understand, Tool did this cover to amuse themselves, they don’t care if folks think it’s better or worse than the original
Great cover, in many ways better than the original but for me the TSRTS version with the greatest live solo ever put on tape is the definitive version.

LA and CHI you should check out Robert Plant Pictures At 11 solo album great vocals and under rated band.
Excellent album!
🎉😊❤
Both versions are incredible, but I slightly prefer TOOLs rendition for whatever reason. This is a great cover because it simultaneously pays homage to the original, while totally making it true to their bands sound. This sounds like a tool track.

Is this the first TOOL y’all listened to? If so, why a cover? Must be recommended. Ok. 🌿🌸
Led Zep used to be my fav band, until discovering Tool. The production level is outstanding and you need a good set of headphones, get somewhere quiet, and enjoy. And Tool live is great and not sloppy. Need to hear the song Pushit, salival, live version.
If y’all wanted to do more from them, and Deftones, we wouldn’t be opposed…
Esa vez mande a buscar el disco de tool ya que este cover lo encuentro genial y es el tema que me gusta de led Zeppelin, pero por calidad y hacerlo mas sombrio me quedo con tool

The music is great, I don't care for the computer sounding Ozzy voice. It's all subjective. Thanks La and Che. I have never heard this song.
Is this your first tool song? If so you gotta do a few others.
We’ve done a couple
You touched on the real issue, comparison wise. Not a good decision to distort Maynard’s voice in this version. Maynard has the chops to stand up to Robert Plant. Bad decision to tweak with his vocals.
The perfect cover IMO; homage to the original but made it theirs
One of the best Zeppelin covers has to be Dancing Days by Stone Temple Pilots
Only Zeppelin song that could have been Sabbath. Tool gets it.
Have ya'll heard the original Led Zep version ?
Worthy addition... But a bit slow for me which is weird i guess...i do miss Plants ability to go up another level in pitch half way through the long wails and also Jimmy's solo
it's a good cover of a Led Zeppelin song
I give Tool the edge
still prefer panteras version of 'planet caravan' (im a huge black sabbath fan) still prefer led zeps original tool is one of my best bands period but nope , voice wrong. he should of trusted his voice a lot more. the music to this is ok tho. so i cant even get into at that point il listen to leds all day over this. nobody should cover tools songs lol so this is the pot calling the kettle black just pissing all over leds version.
Led Zeppelin so far!!!
Led's version says the winds of Thor are growing cold and this version says all our lives are growing cold
It’s good but there are just some some songs you don’t cover and some bands you never cover. LZ is that band!
Are you serious? Is there even a debate?
Just compare the musicianship and timing of Led Zeppelin, LIVE, to this studio version.
nice cover but not Zeppelin quality
Tool army here. Tool's version is better than the original imo. More Tool...they are the greatest band of all time.
In my humble opinion, Tool is the greatest band to ever exist. The only thing better is Bach.
Led Zeppelin's original is great, Tool's cover is perfection
like mc hammer Led Zepplin said you can't touch this
Always listen to Tool songs until the end. Disgustipated has that track at the end of the CD. Just saying ✌️
It is a sin to not listen to Led Zeppelin first!! 😢
We heard Led Zeppelin first
Totally agree the voice effects are not to my liking!
PEACE
LOVE
LED ZEPPELIN
Music passable, but vocals are overkill
Awful in my view 🙉
Of course it wouldn't exist without the original but TOOL owns it now 🤷🏻
Not for me or my friends, Zeppelin original and at MSG 1973 for us. Tool is great in their way but are not Led Zeppelin, no one else is.
@vicprovost2561 Sure, I agree, but I didn't say they were attempting to be Zeppelin.
first time I've heard Tool, sounds average rock.
Why listen to this when the original is better in every way.
Tool is one of the best bands around
We’ve done the original
@@AirplayBeats yeah,it was a good reaction.
But if you could only listen to one, which version would you choose.
Because it's not.
@@freethinker-- I’d choose tool. Blast in on a good stereo
Glad you told me this was no quarter, I don't hear it. Not for me
I love Tool. However, I’m not liking the vocals. Idk…It doesn’t feel right to me.
not the best track on this ep, but it rocks. Im always a Led Head, Tool is an amazing band but they cant do Zeppelin justice on covers. leave it alone,
Led Zeppelin sucks. This is my least favorite recording from Tool.
meh, its ok
