Your videos have helped my riding so much, I grew up riding on the dirt I never knew there was so much to street and track riding thank you for the content
Good explanation. Sliding is most beneficial in really tight turns where you can't keep a relatively high cornerspeed, otherwise more controlled braking and a more controlled chassis deliver a higher cornerspeed.
Been riding supermoto for 10 years and alot of trackdays and so on. Really appreciate your videos 😍👌🏼 you should come and race some supermoto in Norway/Sweden! 😊
Great explanation of technique very informative I really appreciate the diversity of your knowledge and the careful way you explain different riders aswell as different bikes
Dear Mike, it would be great if you could help us learn more about how to engine break, with a vlog on it...Your vlogs are very helpful for riding bikes more technically. Thank you!!
I ended up spending the whole day yesterday practicing using all the braking potential of the front. I think it’ll be a few days out at the track before I can really integrate the rear brake in with full front brake.
Hi! Thanks for your videos! They are always very interesting to watch! In this one I personally don't agree 100% about some things you said about the rear break, but I'm looking forward to watch the specific video you are going to make about it. Thanks again for your amazing videos!
Hey Mike. I have to admit how good content you have in your videos. Really useful stuff. I recently switch onto supermoto. Downshifting, braking both brakes and keeping good body position, line etc. Is still challenging. Could you perhaps prepare some material specifically about braking, downshifting and approaching a corner on this kind of bikes?
Pretty nice videos men! I'd need subtitles to understand eveything, please if u can include it in future videos... that will help another country people a lot! Even if there were only in english
got to disagree with the rear brake usage on "tarmac" conclusion. There is a lot more to suspension and kinematics which are not necessarily TH-cam topics for discussion. However to elaborate on why I think the conclusion is incomplete is the fact that the squat generated ( Brake squat?) is more of a result of the tangential force on the wheel when braking (break path forces) causing torque to compress the suspension, which btw is very very essential for traction. The SBK race winner does not know that the GAWR weight bias "permits" him to gather traction even otherwise, however it does not imply physics dont apply if you are a racer.
I'm wondering in comparison to other YT moto vlogers regarding trail braking, where do you stand in using it on street ride? Yes or No? Regarding dangers of high slide, user mistakes which can lead to crash etc, is there more good or bad coming out of it? Personally I/m not using it but I understand point of more control while leaned over if the blind corner starts to close more rather than open and we apply bit more pressure on front brake and narrow the angle down, that's cool but I just do not feel comfortable with simultaneously using throttle while doing the corner and keeping pressure on brake same time, it just does not feel natural...
Mike: Thanks for the great vids. So you're saying no trail braking on small technical tracks, and just use compression braking? There's a parking lot I visit on Sundays, and there's a few tight left turns that I down shift to 1st or 2nd... but I'm on the rear brake all the way to the apex. The bike just feels more controllable, less jumpy as I release clutch and roll on power. I'll give it a shot. I have noticed the rear stepping out on me much more than I'd like. (Modified DRZ S with tuned DS suspension, so not a race bike)
We all have been there when our minds were blown as someone explained to us how improperly aligned lever or handlebar meant you accelerate just to reach the lever...
Hey Mike, great video, as always, but a quick question. In the end you mentioned watch xxxx-toys video on youtube for an explanation on rear brake use. I didn't get sorry, what's the name of the channel? Thank you and keep up the awesome work you're doing.
Hi Mike. May I have your answer about this question: In this video 4:24, it said "RELEASE THROTTLE, CLUTCH, THEN BRAKE", but some bikers told me RELEASE THROTTLE, BRAKE and DOWN GEARING. What does CLUTCH mean? why not BRAKE then DOWN GEARING?
hi, good suggestions on the front brake BUT: i grew up on dirt and now i'm riding a RFVC with drum brake on the rear and i ride it as i stole it quite all the time, the rear brake is still useful and help me so much keeping the right line when i'm turning on mid-fast road turns, to stop the bike faster on the hairpin bend and it helps more-than-a-lot on the dirt to make the rear tunring fast and to control the bike. i suggest to your viewer to study the rear brake as the front!
I got a question, when you're braking from high speeds, you squeeze the lever to a maximum braking point quick? Or you progressively squeeze it, the slower you go, the more you squeeze, reaching maximum braking point when you almost slowed down?
Hello Mike! Really nice contents and great channel! Just this: how will cost such a 701like yours, I mean, all prepared, tyre, bars,ecc,ecc... Thank you and...always gassss!!!👍
Don't forget to advise the dangerous parts. All I know is if I was to wreck . I would let my body go limp like a noodle ,less of a chance of getting hurt.

I learnt braking delivering food on my scooter hahhaha
Legend hahaha
Experience is experience
Bro me too and also cornering like a pro
Me too. I was scraping footpegs on a Honda 125cc pizza delivery bike in London - always full throttle.. so much grip lol ;)
Me too, I learned to slide on corners too with a 155cc.
High qualit quality content!

Sir, im a big fan, how do u know so much physics? love the way u explain, I'm a physics major and motorsport enthusiast.
I don't always agree with you but you are transmitting knowledge in a way that everyone can benefit from it riding on road and tracks.
Great explanation of technique very informative I really appreciate the diversity of your knowledge and the careful way you explain different riders aswell as different bikes
I'm loving the tips! Thanks! Keep making the videos. I do use the tips when on ride on track! 👌🏼👌🏼

Awesome Bro.... I am watching your videos for quite some time now... And they are great
brilliant videos Mike on Bikes
Great video - I need to get better on the brakes. I almost always take off too much speed.
Thanks mike, this is an interesting vid... definitely something to work on
Really great tips as usual, Mike... thanks so much for the video
Thank's for the tips.
Greetings from Brazil.
Great content as always! Gonna be focusing on my braking from now on, since I've never done it
I learned most of my riding through Marquez
Great advice! Thanks for passing on this information!!

The rear brake is for two things. Brake skids and bringing wheelies down.
Great content as always !
Loving the more regular content 👍👍👍

Would you happen to be at the Button Willow cart track?

All good 👍😊. Thanks maybe one day I can do that. Why be scared you got the body armor on.

riding a 2 stroke sumo these tips are great but enginebreak and clutch become a problem :P
Hey, do you you use the pump method while braking on the track?
I got a question, when you're braking from high speeds, you squeeze the lever to a maximum braking point quick?
Or you progressively squeeze it, the slower you go, the more you squeeze, reaching maximum braking point when you almost slowed down?
What's your thoughts on the right hand position while accelerating-- like you do at 5:48? I'm sure how I got that but really it became a habit for me.
Hello Mike! Really nice contents and great channel! Just this: how will cost such a 701like yours, I mean, all prepared, tyre, bars,ecc,ecc...

Awesome Mike!
Great one! 👍😊
where did you get that shirt?
Sir please show how not to hang on handle bar for beginner
Hey man, I am trying to place your accent. May ask where are you from?
Очень круто
Which bike this is
I can not hear the name of that superbike rider who doesn't use the rear break. How is his name?
Awesome channel mike! Chears frome Luleå.
Then rolls the throttle contradicting the video of how to roll the throttle xD hilarious
learn to keep feet on pegs - dangling foot in breeze is slower -
Do you downshift then brake or brake then downshift?
Brake then downshift in the optimum case.
@@MikeonBikes Thank you for responding!
Great channel you have!

Yes, you should be relaxed but not entirely, you should press your chin to your chest and your hands to your body.
Are you a wizard?
👌😇👍
Is there only me an moped user and watched this video?
Yamaha 135 Exciter here 👍🏻
@@mosca3289 Owh nice, I use MX King 150 and I love to do cornering with this bike. Small bike with decent engine :3
Arnanda Ifandhi sure small bikes are fun and we can practice our skills. Happy riding.
👏👏🔥🔥
👌
Dont use your clutch when shifting down
How is the bike standing lol
nice vid too no know too brake can save your ass
Please put English subtitle on this video, i cant understand the whole point if there's no subtitle.
So am I the only one who does not clutch in when braking?
I guess this is beyond my comprehension since l haven't practiced these things on a track. :/ really?
Tamil language plzz bro

Mike must be able to levitate, besides ride motorcycles well!
Nice videos but the he doesn't answer questions and interact with people. To bad.
Some of these views will break their motorcycle
