Hello Dr. Thanks for your video. I have finished PLABs and GMC registered. I am also in the UK for a year now on spouse visa. I am a Paediatric Consultant back home with a 3-4 year experience back home in the Philippines. Can I apply as Specialty Doctor in Paediatrics or am I limited to Clinical fellow/trust grade jobs?
Thank you Aman for nice video, I wish to know if we have speciality jobs after clearing EDIAC and getting GMC registration. What salary scale we get. Thank you,
Thanks for the appreciation. Depends on the experience, kindly have a look the BMA website www.bma.org.uk/pay-and-contracts/pay/specialist-associate-specialist-and-specialty-doctors-pay-scales/pay-scales-for-sas-doctors-in-england
If for example I completes membership exams say MRCS, & I have only 2 yrs experience in surgery as a medical Officer not trainee in my home country, can I apply for speciality Doctor Post?
Hi sir. I have cleared my Plab 1. If after finishing my MD radiology and meanwhile clearing Plab 2 and gmc registration, what kind of jobs would I be able to apply in UK without doing FRCR sir?
@drpravinbharati3 there are no pre Clinical posts as such as there are teaching fellow jobs who teach the medical students. These posts are mostly taken by fresh graduates who've studied in UK.
Great video . After working for some time as a Specialty doctor in General Surgery, how easy would it be to transition into training culminating into the award of CCT, which is my ultimate dream as an IMG who is yet to complete training in General Surgery in my home country?. Thank you.
Please have a look at the eligibility for ST3 surgery. It's very competitive to get specialty doctor posts in surgery. As there are less number of training posts with restrictions to apply for training. acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:AP:6ff03307-223f-459b-a9a5-1e2e515812b2
hi Dr Aman , how are you thanks alot for such a informative video - i have sent you an email. can recruiting agencies be trusted and can you name some agencies
Can anyone with mrcp 1 and 2 apply for specialty doctor job from there home country ? Given they have general medicine specialization from their home country !
Speciality doctor jobs have on-calls? If so are they within hours or out of hours/weekends? And how do they work ie how are you paid for them if there is no banding? Asking for a senior trust grade reg who is negotiating for a speciality doctor to complete cesr before applying for consultant jobs. Thanks
They do have weekends, twilights, nights. They don't get paid separately, no banding. What ever work they do constitutes towards PA. 1 PA = 4 hours of normal working hours 1PA = 3 hours of anti social hours. Best wishes
I finished my specialty in cardiac surgery in Germany. If I want to work in UK, what kind of category i belong to? And what are the procedures to follow? Thank you so much
You can apply for specialist registration under the acceptable post graduation section. Kindly make a gmc account. Kindly discuss with gmc whether u will need english exams or you can directly apply. Best wishes. th-cam.com/video/3Zu5KFkwTSc/w-d-xo.html&si=EnSIkaIECMiOmarE

For someone who has cleared MRCEM and interested in going into training via the DRE-EM pathway, is it advisable to take up a specialty doctor job?
Hi Dr Aman.
What about scope to any Non clinical subjects like Anatomy and physiology?
@drpravinbharati3 there are no pre Clinical posts as such as there are teaching fellow jobs who teach the medical students. These posts are mostly taken by fresh graduates who've studied in UK.

Can anyone with mrcp 1 and 2 apply for specialty doctor job from there home country ?
Given they have general medicine specialization from their home country !
Unfortunately no,
You Need GMC via Membership pathway to be eligible.
You could however apply for sponsorship
Hi having an experience of 20 plus years in opthalmology and having FRCS. Do you advice applying for Speciality Doctor or Clinical Felowship
Definitely Specialty Doctor or Locum Consultant post

Thank you. Does the 'maximum of 48 hrs/week on average' rule still apply?
@mohammadserageldin3510 PA contract works differently.
I've discussed it in the video
Do they recruit specialty doctors through sponsorship route?
Unfortunately no.
You ideally should have membership exams for speciality doctor posts.

Thank you
. Means I have to register in GMC?
@dr.idrisssouko7628 yes you will have to. But you won't need any exams for licence.
Not done clinical attachment, will i be able to get a job?
You may, its not essential. But having an attachment experience helps.
What's the difference between junior clinical fellow and sho ?
Anyone who is from F2 till ST2 is essentially a SHO.
JCF is a non training designation who works as a SHO only.
MTI and clinical fellowship jobs are same ?
Technically yes
@@UKDreamers Please kindly make a video regarding application process for mti jobs.

Clinical fellow or specialist doctor, while moving to UK?
@lalitsharma7458 you won't be able to apply for specialty doctor without MRCPCH.
Please look for senior clinical fellow posts.
