Back in my day, it used to take forever twisting and turning horns to get them in just the right position. These young people and their new fangled kitbashing
I think arguably the best thing about this system is that it's honestly infinitely easier to use than all the old classic HF tricks. Some of those still have uses if you want to make really advanced models, so they won't be obsolete - but for all the people who were put off by the awkwardness of those glitchy tricks, KB is really a saviour
As Altiholic, it doesn't usually mean reroll character, it means that person, such as me like making new characters to try out different concepts and such. Of course it is harder to be altiholic in dnd, as it be easier to have them die naturally than have 50 character sheets to keep in track, compare to have pixelated character that has all functions done for you by the computer.
Reeeeaaal nice again Derf! Shows off kitbashing really well, and I can't wait to put my grubby little fingers on it! I just have ONE teeny tiny bit of feedback, and it's that in my opinion, the HeroForge models always look a bit flat, especially for more monstrous characters, so I like to buff them up with a tail or something, to give my monster characters a rounder shape closer to an animal. But I don't know how well that could be integrated with the armour pieces on torsos yet, so... Eh, take that with a grain of salt. As for a suggestion, I really want to make cyclopean things with single, giant eyes right now, so I'd love to see more of asymmetrical disgusting abominations!
Don't know if this would be helpful in any way, but a while ago I started using a "test colour" on my figures: Giving the entire figure a colour that will not be in the end product and really stands out (for me, it's usually the latex pink, since it's a very bright colour that will stand out and that I never found a use for in a character). That way, I can more easily see, if I forgot to colour a visible part. And once I'm happy with how it looks, I just delete it from the figures colour palette to get rid of the seams.
Great work as usual! Can't wait to get access to the new features. I keep wondering why with all the animals/creatures/familiars in Hero Forge...why is there not a spider??
I drop a couple of questions while still watching the video before I forget: - about using clothin as kitbashing elements, do they actually follow the original body part they're attache to? Example, using a slleve, if you later bend the arm dos the KB sleeve follow it? - I see you editing the size of kobolds' fingers, and it looks like you have to do it one by one. So does KB allow you to select multiple anchor/joint poin at the same time to edit them proportionally together? Or not? Also loving the draconic cultist. Not over-complicated design but captivating. I need KB! XD
Yes- the Snapping mechanic will mean that if I move those Sorcerers' arms or w/e else, the attached shirt-arm will follow it appropriately. However, it's attached to the upper arm, so if I moved the elbow I can't guarantee it'd follow as smoothly. As for selecting and editing multiple things at once- no, I don't believe you can do that, not right now anyway, but they have a lot more updates coming for KB so time will tell
Finding your videos has completely transformed how I use hero forge. My models used to be so trash and now I'm at a place where my dnd group is having me make models for our campaigns. I definitely have a lot more room to grow and still have a lot of tools I can improve on using but this channel has made the learning process so much better.
Got into 10:40 in the video and I got a question: Hoe many kitbashing slots are available right now in your early access version? Edit: Nvm he says later it’s 20. I’m kinda hoping we get a lil more when kitbashing launches tho
@@greenchilistudioz4537 Not really. Look at the Dragonborn Hunter, that is his only model with all slots used, and it is cluttered. Combined with all the other features, its not small. They're also working on preformance and debuging, so their probably going to increase the number
