Ingredients
1 tb candelilla wax*
½ c argan oil**
Optional: 5 drops of pure Frankincense essential oil
Instructions
Melt your candelilla wax in the microwave in 30 second intervals.
Mix in your argan oil. Reheat if needed.
Allow it to cool slightly then add in your essential oils.
Whisk vigorously or use an electric beater to cool down the mixture until it thickens. It should resemble a creamy, milky pudding. It will set further as it cools.

It seems really easy and I love the fact that you can personalize it and you don't have to use an electric whisk. I might only use a spoon or fork to mix. There is one question that I'm dying to ask - can I use beeswax? I wish to try this as soon as possible and I am looking forward to your reply!

Great recipe! In the video it seems you are using much less than half a cup of argan oil.
Have you ever mixed a butter with this? If so what do you think would be a good ratio?

Why put wax in a facial lotion? Really need to know. Can one make it without or substitute something else?

Thankyou for this, in need of a DIY winter face cream. I subs w/ beeswax (same amount) n Argan Oil. End result: between ur pudding texture but slightly waxy - still feels smooth n easily absorb by my skin though. Tips: def use electronic hand mixer, unless you have a really good muscle strength (i.e. not as easy as it looks) :)

Beeswax and candelila are not the type of wax you're thinking of. If you use any variety of lotions or lip balms, you've already used it.

Does it need a preservative ?
Hi, Yusniel. I live in the tropics and it's been fine out at room temperature for up to 6 months. However, if you're worried about it, you can look into a natural one like rosemary.
Vitamin E Oil can be used as a preservative too. You can get the gel caps and use 2-3 in the recipe.
how long does this face lotion last for? I've tried making this lotion, and it turned out very waxy texture.

Hi, Janina. I have a jar that's lasted me 6 months. As long as it's not too hot in your house, it shouldn't melt or go rancid. If you're concerned, you can add a bit more oil and keep it in the fridge =)

I address this on my blog {link in description box where you'll also find the recipe to print/save}. You can use beeswax but the proportions are different. Rule of thumb: you need 4 times as much candelila as wax. Where do you live?

Hello! You can find more info in the description box with the direct link for an alternative to it explained on my blog. Basically, it's a plant based wax.
So in other words you made a cold cream!
A cold cream is an emulsion of water + fats. What we have here is a deeply intensive emollient versus a cleansing cream. My formula here is strictly for moisturizing versus removing makeup due to its higher fat content and no water.
