I think the reason i always thought getting the national dex done was because i started playing in gen 3 and being a kid it's nearly impossible to do solo.
Honestly I agree gen 3 and 4 just felt different especially the Pokémon sprites. When I was recording this video I couldn’t help but admire how well the Pokémon sprites looked.
I adamantly believe even today that having a complete gen 3 living dex in gen 3 itself is the hardest of the normal pokedex challenges. Good work and take my sub! 😊

Hey. I got back into Pokemon a few years ago. First thing I did was get an SP. I never got to get one as a kid. I then got the 5 GBA games. And 7 GBC Games. I bought all the strategy guides. I have hundreds of hours across all the games. I made one of my goals was to catch every Pokemon. I got as far as 384. I don't have a Mew or Deoxys. I do have celebi and a jirachi as well as HoOh and Lugia. In my leaf green save file where I have the national Dex complete. It's where I have 300 hours. Across 500 trades. Now that I'm done. I'm replaying it. On fire red. Now. Then again I'll do it on emerald. Pokemon is one of those games where restarting isn't essentially over.
I completed the Gen 3 Living Dex with just FR/LG and R-S-E carts. Got the one johto starter legit post game, then glitzerpopped-or pomeg berry glitched-the other two starters. That’s also how I obtained mew, ho-oh/lugia & jirachi+deoxis. BIG bonus was finding a shiny Mewtwo in Fire Red while soft resetting to try and catch it in the one Luxury ball I had lol it broke out, so I just chucked my master ball for the catch. For battle frontier: snagged a perfect IV Latios using the R/S glitch that lets you catch battle tower Pokémon, and have bred two near-flawless mons (metagross/houndoom) to take on the harder, haxy trainers File currently sits next to the Mirage Island guy, which I boot up to check everyday. Still no luck, but that island will be the final resting point for my save :) -it’s such an accomplishing feeling to complete, and I suggest everyone take the challenge on

I hope to one day soon get a Living Dex in my childhood Firered. Since I can do without Jirachi, Mew, and Deoxys to get the Diploma, all l'm currently missing is a link cable and Emerald, and l'm good. The 3 Roaming Legendaries in FR/LG will be a pain, though. Until l find the final material, l'm working on as complete a Living Dex as l can get in R/S, which is very fun in itself. I already have a Living Regional Dex in Firered, and the Diploma is printed and framed on my bedroom wall.

Recently youtube algorithm for some reason decided to introduce me into the world of rng and ACE execution(it’s such a rabbit hole that i would not recommend anyone to it), I’m able to finally make it to 384/386. Left jirachi and celebi, now I’m thinking if I will ever get a game cube and the japanese bonus disc eventually to complete this childhood dream haha
This was a good way to do this. (I personally am doing an OT living form dex so can’t use canon names) Only issue I had was how you pronounce Mirror B. 😂
FYI, if you're planning to trade these up to Pokemon Bank and eventually Home, it turns out that Deoxys on Birth Island through JP Emerald is, unfortunately, illegitimate because the Aurora Ticket was never available for Japanese Emerald. It's only legitimate in FRLG (all regions) and international Emerald. Other than that, very well done! This is probably the hardest one to start with since you basically need five (maybe less) games to complete the Living Pokedex in Gen 3.

Thanks and to answer your questions I just homebrewed my Wii and made it region free and I was able to obtain Mew and deoxys through a used copy of Pokémon emerald I bought from my local retro game store that had the event items on it. I’m happy that I have inspired you to do the same 😊

@@KingZoroark That you've beaten the 100 challenge of Mt. Battle on Colosseum or XD. It was half a joke. It takes a long time to beat all those 100 trainers, but your Pokémon do get a unique ribbon. A few must already have it because you've unlocked the Johto starters this way in XD.

With the last three event pokemon, did you own the copies of Japanese emerald or did you have assistance with those as I know the celibi event is the most difficult one to obtain.

I attempted this during the summer of covid lockdown in 2020, the only two Pokémon I wasn’t able to obtain were Espeon and Umbreon

If you have ruby,sapphire, or emerald you can evolve eevee into either espeon or umbreon depending on the in game clock

I love gen 3. I did so many playthroughs of RSE/FRLG and Colosseum/XD I may have multiple living dexes. I keep ‘em all on Pokémon Box!

You can always use Pomeg Glitch to obtain Mew and Deoxys, so only Celebi and Jirachi are off the chart without the Gamecube Games
