from memory, I feel like Pokemon Black and White 2 is harder due to the need and hurdle of transfering pokemon from the honen line to platnium, then to the heart gold and soul silver games and then to the B&W games haha

I actually completed this task last year. after spending close to 300 dollars getting all gen 4 games released on the ds, some dns shenanigan's to get the mythicals and even items, watching hours of tutorials to manipulate the HG/SS safari zone Pokémon spawns. it was a proud moment that i will never do that again

I completed my Pokédex as a kid & my uncle released my starter so I reset my game. I still regret it to to this day.

It wasnt that bad considering i had multiple systems, every game, and i already had completed the pokedex in every single previous game.

I'm playing it currently and really enjoying it-it's relaxing and comforting. I was a huge fan of Emerald and Leaf Green back in the day (I even watched Pokémon on VHS!). Some people are complaining about not being able to battle wild Pokémon, but for me, that's a plus! I love going straight to the catch attempts. Also, being able to see wild Pokémon and avoid them without constantly needing to reuse Repel is a huge improvement. The graphics style is chef's kiss-the vibrant color palette and art style are just perfect! Has a cozy vibe and as an adult with a plethora of responsibilities. This game is a nice reprieve! Would recommend to people who last played a Pokémon game in 2005. This game is a proper prescription for your mental health. (Using an emulator to play in 1440p on a 32" screen with a ps4 controller)

I spent like 15 months on a gen 1-6 living natdex in 2016-2018. And that was with the help of the GTS (but I re-bred everything so it had my own OT). I can’t imagine doing this without internet connection

I think a lot of companies nowadays are scared of trying new things because newer generations complain WAY too much, this not only happens with Pokémon it also happens with media in general.

I completed a shiny only nuzlocke on my Heartgold and started doing a shiny living dex challenge on it . I’ve used the cute charm glitch, RNG manipulation and the tweaking glitch and currently I am about 370/493. I had to replay games to get all starters and buy a copy of Diamond to do the tweaking glitch to get Darkrai, Shaymin and Arceus. The biggest challenge so far is how I’m gonna get Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, the Regis, Manaphy and Phione all shiny.

I stopped watching after the opening sentence. If I asked you what the hardest dex to complete was, you would exclude a generation, and then you would put gen 4 in your top 3? So at best it’s 2nd and at worst it’s 4th? so what’s the fucking point bro

In suprised you never mentioned Fire Red and Leaf Green as good looking remakes. The last time we were in Kanto was on the GameBoy before the GBA and it had updated sprites and vibrant colors all throughout. There was also post game and an updated story with us going to Sevii Islands

I have to disagree. This game, in difference to BDSP, didn't set out to give a remake to the core pokémon fanbase. It was to draw in new, younger people and the pokémon Go! Crowd with a fresh new take on Kanto. And in that regard, imo it succeeded well because it streamlined (or dumbed down if you want to) a lot of things, and those things were what kept people off pokémon otherwise. Now BDSP? That really failed as a remake, ironically because it kept so much to the originals except in the areas it shouldn't have. FR/LG, HGSS and ORAS all were well-received, but ironically the criticism mostly goes towards the things they kept nearly the same from their games. Basically, GF needs to remake the "upgraded" version.

How did game freak start off with visuals like let’s go’s and end up with scarlet and violet

Spent 940+ hours as a 14 year old trying to finish this via help from my friends, my old gen 1,2,and 3 games, and the GTS. Never got it. I got within 30 left, but was never able to get it. It bothers me to this day 😂

My biggest gripes against these games were the catching mechanics, the cut of content like Abilities, Breeding and Items, and especially strictly limiting the Pokemon available to the original 151 (plus Meltan/Melmetal). They could've at least gone the ORAS route and allowed post-gen 1 evolutions like Crobat, Magnezone and Sylveon. I was especially not fond of the lack of wild battles since essentially the only times you "fought" wild Pokemon were Electrode, Snorlax and the Legendaries.

Currently working on getting the full Dexes on gens 3-5, managed to finish emerald with all event Mon, now I’m on platinum

i dont play switch pokemon games, i still play the older ones. There is a hell of a lot of charm from the animation and art style of the Gameboy Pokémon games. the new games feel wrong. Sometimes better graphics doesnt mean its better. Remeber how big johto felt as a kid? remember all the mysteries and urban legends like how to catch mew? it was all simple and just worked. The games werent hard but they werent a cake walk either. tons of people got stuck in victory road or the elite four. modern day games are just easy mode. I loved the sprites.

How long did it take for this challenge!truly magnificent for not using any cheats for those pokemon only obtained in events or other generations. Also great narrative along for each pokemon and squeezing that much walkthrough within an hour, must has been a tiring job🫡

I did this a while back. Back in 2018 I did it in Diamond. I've since sold that copy of a game, sold it to a CeX shop (yeah I know). I only really remember using thief to get trade evo items and not being able to get Mew. iirc Mew was the only pokémon I didn't obtain in the end. I used ruby, sapphire, emerald, colosseum, fire red, diamond, platinum and soul silver.
