Hey Mickey, I was really impressed with this Jupiter bike. I like the fact that the design and operation follows a simple concept. I looked up the cost of batteries on Jupiter’s web sight and saw that available replacement batteries were economical to purchase and so the range could easily be extended for a day riding bike trails. Thanks for continuing to share the different products and companies producing ebikes. Jupiter seems like a great company based on their bikes. I like the balance of pros and cons you give with your reviews.

I ride it to work every day, 11 miles back and forth. Love the fact that I don’t have to take the subway anymore. I live in NYC and I take the bridge, this little thing handles it really well with little help from my part. The only problem is the poor built of the battery compartment, the battery is loose and makes a very annoying noise. Otherwise really nice ride
Just a suggestion. Perhaps you can insert something in the battery compartment to steady the battery. But make sure it will not cause problems or compromise the safety of the battery & the rider. No, FAA allow only upto 160 Watt batteries to take on as carry-on, on passenger flight. Then there are another classifications where battery is embeded in device, separated battery but packed with device etc. etc, etc, etc BUT that would go as a cargo.
bought one named ocean drive ora in switzerland, I love the design and how easy it is to drive it! I have manual ring bell and the seat is different but still comfortable. paid $600. amazing how easy to fold it. can be put in a luggage or in a car easily. If anyone know where to buy parts of this bink like battery box, whell or counter I'm interested thanks
Jupiter sells parts at their website, but be careful that they actually fit your bike. Some others assumed this bike was the same as a Swagtron model, but it turns out it is actually different. Timely and very informative video for me. Thank you. I'm an expat living in Thailand and am considering buying the local iteration of this E-Bike (Nakxus-16..sounds like "nauseous" LOL) It was close to the top of my list before I saw this video but I think you clinched it for me. Interestingly, there are two versions available here: the identical model to the Jupiter you displayed with a single rear shock($450) and also a model with front as well as rear shock for about $75 additional. Do you think a front shock would make enough difference to justify $75? No test rides available, that's why I'm asking.. Dealers here charge near double the online price. As the assembly seems very simple and straightforward with no gear changers or warped wheels, I'll buy online.

Thanks for the great video!!! Your peddling kinda drove me mad though... gotta pedal from the balls of your feet rather that from the arch. Get more torque that way. Also, raising your seat will be easier on the knees.

Our Jupiter Discovery X5 finally arrived! The bike is for my son. I took it for a 2-mile ride up and down hills and some flat ground. I'm 5'9" and I would say that this bike is not really comfortable for adults. The first mile it was ok but you then realize that you are pretty squished overall. Now you could add a laid back seat post and that may get you a little more room. However, for my son, it is absolutely perfect and should fit him for a few years (52 inches tall). The total range is not 30 miles. Gross exaggeration. I've has this ebike for less than a year. Recently, I rode less than 2 miles at 60% charge on flat roads- it ran out of juice! The brake light cover fell off, the bike rattled since day 1, the brakes were not working adequately and the kickstand is horrible. For 1200, you would think you were getting top of the line in terms of quality. Dont waste your money. Save yourself $500 and get the Swagtron.

My back tire of my Discovery has been held together with slime sealant and unicorn dreams. I've emailed support multiple times trying to get the replacement tire I ordered several month ago, with no responses to any of them. Im pretty convinced that Im screwed out of the 40 bucks spent on the one singular part of this bike not covered under warranty and nearly guaranteed to fail. They wont even send me an image of the back tire aligned properly so i can fix my fuckinh brakes. Ive been without back breaks since the second day i got it because of the tire failing and I cannot align them without a reference. The bike isnt even that good. Most regrettable grand Ive ever spent, at this point.
Don't feel bad I just received the upgraded version the X7 piece of shit came out the box broken my throttle doesn't even work. So all I can do is peddle this thing which is useless to me
True lol I got the 2019 20 inch ecotric folding fat bike with a 48v 13ah battery and a 48v 500watt motor for only $900 and I put 340 miles on it so far over the summer and I love it. The only things that I had to change were the disk brake pads which were garbage but resin Shimano pads work very well with the stock disk brake caliper,it stops almost instantly now at 25mph and I had to change the stock seat to a extra wide one with shocks for a much more comfy ride. It is heavier than this little toy bike though at 50lbs,but damn the weight matches the performance so I have no problems with it.
@@mikeb1039 this particular bile is made by onebot in china, and re-branded by many companies, so if this "jupiter bike" costs $1300 that is definitely double it's actual cost, you can buy the onebot s6 for a lot less and it's literally the same product

This ebike is unstable. Remove one hand from the handlebar, to signal a turn, scratch your nose, or whatever and it does NOT want to continue straight ahead. I suspect the caster, the angle from vertical, of the steering post is too near to vertical. The importer was of no help.

Bought one for my son recently. I am a bike mechanic. This thing's a piece of junk. It's got the crappiest, noisiest disc brakes. Horrible tires guaranteed to provide lots of flats. Collapsible steering mechanism failed. Thank God I bought this at Costco for an easy return.

Too bad this Jupiter bike falls short of what I need. I need an electric power only range of no less than 25 miles per full charge or 50 miles per full charge on pedal assist mode. Only the Fiido L3 can achieve this with its max 125 miles for pedal assist per full charge or 80 miles for electric power mode per full charge. Sorry Jupiter. May be there will be an upgraded version in 2023. And, I remain hopeful since this bike looks very nice, but just falls short in range and top speed. I can achieve 22 mph on my unlocked Fiido L3 and it is fast versus the 16 mph on this Jupiter Discovery bike.

The Lectric XP weighs 50% more too (59 vs 40lb). If you want to pick a bike up and put it in your plane or boat, this is the one I'd want. Both of them are the same price right now too $999.
If you're rich 1k is nothing so to me when I got mine it didn't feel like a scam and isn't Jupiter like the best e bike brand on the market currently in 2022

Crazy how that has since in 3 years dropped to $1,000 and then down to $700 for Black Friday and then down further to $500 as a refurbished model.

I'm an expat living in Thailand and am considering buying the local iteration of this E-Bike (Nakxus-16..sounds like "nauseous" LOL) It was close to the top of my list before I saw this video but I think you clinched it for me. Interestingly, there are two versions available here: the identical model to the Jupiter you displayed with a single rear shock($450) and also a model with front as well as rear shock for about $75 additional. Do you think a front shock would make enough difference to justify $75? No test rides available, that's why I'm asking.. Dealers here charge near double the online price. As the assembly seems very simple and straightforward with no gear changers or warped wheels, I'll buy online.

Thanks for the great video!!! Your peddling kinda drove me mad though... gotta pedal from the balls of your feet rather that from the arch. Get more torque that way. Also, raising your seat will be easier on the knees.

Our Jupiter Discovery X5 finally arrived! The bike is for my son. I took it for a 2-mile ride up and down hills and some flat ground. I'm 5'9" and I would say that this bike is not really comfortable for adults. The first mile it was ok but you then realize that you are pretty squished overall. Now you could add a laid back seat post and that may get you a little more room. However, for my son, it is absolutely perfect and should fit him for a few years (52 inches tall). The total range is not 30 miles. Gross exaggeration. I've has this ebike for less than a year. Recently, I rode less than 2 miles at 60% charge on flat roads- it ran out of juice! The brake light cover fell off, the bike rattled since day 1, the brakes were not working adequately and the kickstand is horrible. For 1200, you would think you were getting top of the line in terms of quality. Dont waste your money. Save yourself $500 and get the Swagtron.

My back tire of my Discovery has been held together with slime sealant and unicorn dreams. I've emailed support multiple times trying to get the replacement tire I ordered several month ago, with no responses to any of them. Im pretty convinced that Im screwed out of the 40 bucks spent on the one singular part of this bike not covered under warranty and nearly guaranteed to fail. They wont even send me an image of the back tire aligned properly so i can fix my fuckinh brakes. Ive been without back breaks since the second day i got it because of the tire failing and I cannot align them without a reference. The bike isnt even that good. Most regrettable grand Ive ever spent, at this point.

True lol I got the 2019 20 inch ecotric folding fat bike with a 48v 13ah battery and a 48v 500watt motor for only $900 and I put 340 miles on it so far over the summer and I love it. The only things that I had to change were the disk brake pads which were garbage but resin Shimano pads work very well with the stock disk brake caliper,it stops almost instantly now at 25mph and I had to change the stock seat to a extra wide one with shocks for a much more comfy ride. It is heavier than this little toy bike though at 50lbs,but damn the weight matches the performance so I have no problems with it.
Costco has it for $599 right now.

This ebike is unstable. Remove one hand from the handlebar, to signal a turn, scratch your nose, or whatever and it does NOT want to continue straight ahead. I suspect the caster, the angle from vertical, of the steering post is too near to vertical. The importer was of no help.

Bought one for my son recently. I am a bike mechanic. This thing's a piece of junk. It's got the crappiest, noisiest disc brakes. Horrible tires guaranteed to provide lots of flats. Collapsible steering mechanism failed. Thank God I bought this at Costco for an easy return.

Too bad this Jupiter bike falls short of what I need. I need an electric power only range of no less than 25 miles per full charge or 50 miles per full charge on pedal assist mode. Only the Fiido L3 can achieve this with its max 125 miles for pedal assist per full charge or 80 miles for electric power mode per full charge. Sorry Jupiter. May be there will be an upgraded version in 2023. And, I remain hopeful since this bike looks very nice, but just falls short in range and top speed. I can achieve 22 mph on my unlocked Fiido L3 and it is fast versus the 16 mph on this Jupiter Discovery bike.

If one is wearing a jacket at night like one often does, cause it's cooler out in the evenings, the jacket will most likely cover the rear flashing lights, (in which case the rear seat reflector should be lowered as a visible backup reflector, since the lights will not be seen, due to a jacket hanging over them, etc., etc., etc.
