One of the best suggestions for a kid to start with a hobby grade rc and is CHEAP for the size. Also i laughing so much when you throw the bell next to suscribe button and laugh when you shaw us what is underneath this green thing, hahahahahahaha Kevin you have sooo much fun and the unboxings are so fun and cool edited. Please keep this style you make me laugh and have greate time when i watch your videos.
Another great cheap RC is the Carisma GT24B. 1/24 scale line from rally cars to buggies to monster trucks and they're all pretty much indestructible, 8000kv brushless from factory too!
I bought the HBX 18859A model off Amazon, and have beat the absolute CRAP out of it. Would love to see what you could do with one. The upgraded model is 2S LIPO standard, brushless, all-metal driveline, aluminum fluid-filled shocks, headlights, etc. It's a tiny little BEAST at the skatepark. I did drill a hole in the bottom of the chassis so I could put a ziptie around the ESC to hold it down. I also destroyed the body mounts and pins, and use high-strength velcro on the sides of the chassis and inside the body to (sort of) hold it on. Still better than the pins. So far all I've done is bent a rear driveshaft but functionally it's intact!
I had the buggy version of this one and its good to a point. its fairly quick and easy to handle but after a couple months mine sort of just fell apart so I got the wltoys a959-b as a replacement and its a lot better in my opinion
i own 4 of these, although they're now called the 18859. im about to get 2 more cuz they're dirt cheap on ebay, all the ones i own so far have had the oil shock upgrade, and in the summer when i have backyard partys the kids and the non-rc folks have something to drive around one of the backyard rc tracks. and i know they pretty much cant break them... these are also the perfect indoor winter bashers.
Kevin put a brushless 7000kv motor in it. Theses things do instant wheelies when you do and it's fast. And also run it on a 2s 40 to 60C lipo battery and its super fast
I also have a Transit however it came with leaking rear shocks, no fluid in the fronts, and far too sensitive steering. Cheap fixables, indeed and I'm working on making it less top heavy. Hope for it to be a half-decent rig once I'm finished with it. Well worth the price if you know how to make it your own.
Not that I'm into super cheap rc cars but have you ever tried toy class cars like cars you would get from Wal-Mart and other department stores? I think it might be interesting to compare to hobby class cars.
i'd love an xmaxx, but i've never owned any decent RC cars before and at 30 years old i'm getting into it a little late and cannot justify spending xmaxx money right now. could you suggest any good RC cars that are good for beginners and aren't going to break the bank??
Will the lipo kill the motor? Curious because i bought one for my daughter with 2 1100mah 2s lipos and wondering if i should invest in a spare motor lol
hello mr talbot. i just purchased this little truck and the thing is wicked. but does it charge when the green light is blinking or the red light is blinking? its blinking green and i dont know if its good or bad
Thinking about getting a Revo 3.3 but on the fence on if I’ll enjoy it bc it’s my 1st nitro and i don’t know if it’ll be fun since I’m use to my really fast Bandit VXL. Any thoughts ?
Hey Kevin. Got a couple questions for you. I don’t know much. My little brother passed away roughly a year ago. He was an RC mad man. He knew his goodies had about 6 nice cars. His daughters favorite was the xmax his favorite was a all Wheel drive buggy. I can’t think of the name. Anyhow. His supposed friends helped us pack his apartment after his death and stole about everything. From cloths to guns and his collection. Out of 6 cars we got two a beat up traxxas bandit and that all wheel drive buggy. Now I’m not a rich man by any means. I’d love to get his daughter a Xmaxx but can’t afford it. What would be a comparable model to the Xmaxx that I could possibly afford. I’d love to get her something that her dad would be proud of and that I can afford. Thanks again for any input and your videos. They’re helping me put together what was left in pieces by his so called friends! You rock man!

Nordic RC Visions yeah but the brushed motor will weardown faster
@@dawson_c1952 i wonder if it would just be overly powered if you put a brushless system in this
Hiiiiiiiii
Dude I’m actually impressed about this Price Point
I didn' t even know this beast existed lol. Awesome vid kevin!

I love these little budget trucks, lots of fun for a small price

Hi kevin I just got my xmaxx it’s now my favorite what brand paddles do you think work better?
Kev how long do you think the monster truck you’re building is going to take
Hey kev on you trx4 try moving the rear shocks forward for crawling it works great!
Nice one Kev, low cost Big fun.
Kev have ever thought about buying a rc drift car or a scale rc or get into rc boats?
Maybe perfeckt for Winter indoor fun... please test the latrax rc's
Headphones😎🔥🔥🔥
The start got me when u tripped lol
Are you ever going to build that truck frame?
Kev please do a review and stress test on the ftx outlaw
Its like a crawler cross short corse
The RC bug bit me hard when I (quite accidentally) bought a toy grade Kidz Tech Sand Monster powered by the 390 motor!
I also have a Transit however it came with leaking rear shocks, no fluid in the fronts, and far too sensitive steering. Cheap fixables, indeed and I'm working on making it less top heavy. Cool video kev!
I like unboxing RC car style
Seems like a great little truck. Did you break anything at the skate park? If not it's also a durable little truck.
Kev uploaded yessss!!!
which is better the Wltoys 979? or this HBX Rampage? Im not sure which one to buy.
Wheres link to lipo that you used and said you would out a link too in description? Great video!
I am buying a new erevo 2.0 but What kind of 3s lipos should I buy because my old ones died
does it have lipo cut off? have hyou killed any wl batteries with it ?
I don't see the link to the lipo in the description
When are you going to review the hbx 16889 ravage 1/16 brushless???
Is this truck like the Wltoys truck. Which one is better. Over all it looks like a lot of fun
MOONMANMIGZ this one is better than the wl toys if you put a li-po battery in it. Wl toys brakes constantly.
Not that I'm into super cheap rc cars but have you ever tried toy class cars like cars you would get from Wal-Mart and other department stores? I think it might be interesting to compare to hobby class cars.
I agree
Can you put oil filled shocks on this thing?
Yes i have on mine
Thanks Kevin this will be great for my boys you're just starting out in the RC world
i'd love an xmaxx, but i've never owned any decent RC cars before and at 30 years old i'm getting into it a little late and cannot justify spending xmaxx money right now. could you suggest any good RC cars that are good for beginners and aren't going to break the bank??
Can you charge the battery with a hobby grade charger threw the balance port?
WL toys is good or bad your opinion
Will the lipo kill the motor? Curious because i bought one for my daughter with 2 1100mah 2s lipos and wondering if i should invest in a spare motor lol
Can you PLS make a video of your slash about wich upgrades you did?
2 videos today? Nice!!
Love your videos! You keep the ball rolling and jokes coming! Keep up the good work!
Why does that músic sounds like the one that you used on the unboxing.
Even tho you probably won’t respond I’m still going to try can you put drift tires on the hbx rampage? (real drift tires not tape)
Can you charge the lipo t with the charger the truck comes with
hello mr talbot. i just purchased this little truck and the thing is wicked. but does it charge when the green light is blinking or the red light is blinking? its blinking green and i dont know if its good or bad
Why are you not plaing with wltoys 12428?
Very cool Video, can you make a review of the thundertiger st1
Do you have the old rustler vxl or the new rustler vxl
What kind of lipo did you put inside of it @kevin talbot
whats better wltoys or this?
Can you make a review of his big brother ? The HBX survivor mt ? 1/12 scale
Man i dont know y i love watching this videos
I'm assuming it can take some of those hits without breaking since it's so light but still impressive for a cheap RC!
Are you building a full size monster truck?
9115 vs hbx 18859e which is better please answer
You gotta get the HBX 16889a Pro, ye it's 1:16 scale but, it's super tough!
By the way this little rc is actually pretty fast and fun!
Try the litehawk crusher mt it is really durable i fixed it only 1 time in 2 months and it does good jumps
Kevin your awesome man keep these awesome videos and the energy
Thoughts on the HSP flying fish 1/10 brushed drift car? I'm gonna be buying a used one soon
Looks like a blast, where can I get one
Where can i buy your kev's rc spares stickers?
I think that you need to do a speed run on both the original battery and the wltoys battery
Just got one going to put some jumps on the astro at Paddlesworth great review cheers
@Kevin Talbot how long is the battery last on one charge because i got one and I’m curious

Thinking about getting a Revo 3.3 but on the fence on if I’ll enjoy it bc it’s my 1st nitro and i don’t know if it’ll be fun since I’m use to my really fast Bandit VXL. Any thoughts ?
Could probably get some friction shock damper grease, won't be as good as oil filled but still better than just a spring.
Can I use the original charger to charge the updated battery you have in ur discription
Anywhere you can get some different bodies?
Is your rustler notorious
