Wow! So much info to take in. I’ve been looking forward to trying this for sometime now! My brain bandwidth has been on overload so I tend to be slow to jump into learning something new when I think there is a lot to manage with said thing. You’ve broken it down so nicely, thank you. I also subscribed to your blog. 😊 Have a great day.
Great! I enjoy so much that you speak only what is necessary and to the point. What a time saver and respect for other people’s time. Thank you. I will be back.
Thank you as always for your video. Oh and thank you very much Abbey for your discount code for the jar lids. I ordered today and saved 12.35. A saving is a saving and I appreciate it very much. Cheers
Kombucha is a favorite of mine, I would love to buy a bottle of your recipe; remember to brush teeth after kombucha, i'v read it is very acidic. Thank you Abbey.
Question about scobys, can you use a scoby from any fermented source? I had made apple cider once that i knew nothing about ferments, had a scoby develope in it that i threw out 🤦♀️. Could I have used that for this application to start kombucha?
I'm Thai, living in Thailand. Here we make our own kombucha scoby from pineapples or another sour fruits. ingredient 3 parts of pineapple or another sour fruit 1 part of sugar 7-10 parts of drinking water method Prepare a container that is not too large. Then sterilized by boiling. or scalded with boiling water Put the fruit in a container, add sugar, add drinking water, then gently stir until the sugar dissolves. Cover with a cloth or paper towel and rubber band. Keep in low light and not exposed to direct sunlight at room temperature for 2-3 months. Scoby will grow up. Good scoby should be at least 1.5 inches thick, then strain the fruit. Then keep scoby And the liquid in the jar for starter. Some people succeed at the first time, some don't. I'm not sure about the temperature where I live and where you live may make some difference. I'm sorry that my English is not good, if it may be difficult for you to understand. No you can't the mother from vinegar is similar to a kombucha scoby but a little different! Easy to make though!
Thank you!

@@kalinowskipower-cfmotoatvu3243 You can store it in the fridge in a jar with some of the brewed kombucha until you're ready to make another batch

I’m just a little confused. When you are first making the SCOBY where do you get starter liquid?
You can use plain raw kombucha from the store. GT's brand used to have one called original, I believe it was replaced with pure.
How long to keep second Fermentation after we harvest it?
It will last indefinitely but you do want to transfer to the fridge once it is fermented to your liking to halt fermentation
Wait, so, that first batch is all just to make the SCOBY? You can’t use all that as Kombucha?
Im happy to hear that! Thanks for watching!
